Such a nice place to stop and grab a bite to eat after visiting the old mill. We went for lunch which was delicious. Highly recommended the turkey wrap! The cheeseburger meal and the turkey platter were also very good. Expect to wait a little bit since there is limited dining space and staff. Service was okay, nothing great. We loved being able to look out the screened windows while we ate and admired the scenery.

For as long as this place has been there. The number of visitors it welcomes and feeds...they need to clean up and remodel the dining area. The food was devious, yes. (Pot roast and chicken pot pie) Service was good, yes. However, as I looked around and noticed the years of dirt, grime, and wear on the floor and walls, I could help but think... do I really want to eat here. It made me think of what the kitchen might look like. We visited here back in 2010. We just revisited in 2023. The place hasn't changed except for the age it shows. Sad. With the hour plus wait we had, the prices going up... I think they can afford at least paint and a new floor in the dining room.

Such a nice place to visit! There was a blacksmith & park ranger showing how they made clothing & blankets. It was very informative. There was also the beautiful mill to explore. We did not eat at the restaurant because there was a long wait. We did visit the gift though which had a nice variety of items.

We were there for a brunch. The day we went there it was absolutely busy, It is a very small restaurant and the wait times were therefore quite long. But we were also lucky that the weather was nice and warm so we had the possibility to walk through the premises and watch a blacksmith and jarn production demonstration. So after all it was not that frustrating that we had to wait one hour. It is a old classic country style restaurant, with simple furniture that matches the whole ambience. The food was good and prepared fresh, the staff was very friendly and overall the restaurant and restrooms were clean and in good condition.

The scenery is absolutely beautiful. The food was okay in this countryside restaurant. Had assumed breakfast would have been homemade from scratch. If I return, I’d order regular pancakes and eggs or drive up the highway a couple miles to another restaurant. The buckwheat pancakes tasted like dirt & bitter, some folks may like. It was a pleasant experience overall, it could definitely use kitchen help/improvement. Maybe 2021, things will taste better.

The food was AMAZING! My husband doesn't eat any turkey that he hasn't smoked on the grill. He kept going back for another bite, even after he said he couldn't eat any more. The staff are so friendly and spot on. We will be back to try everything else on the menu. Thank you to them for a most memorable get away with my husband Keith for the day.

This place is great for fall visits, as well as summer time. I took a parkway all the way and throughout the way I got to enjoy fall colors. But the Mill itself is beautiful. You can walk around and see how people lived 100 years ago and what kind of tools they had. From farming to blacksmith and whiskey making. And when you get hungry restaurant is right there. On the way back stop by at few overlooks. Gorgeous views.

Mabry Mill is said to be the most photographed spot on the Blueridge Parkway, I can believe it. It's right on the BRP. This is a beautifully preserved piece of history. There are many places to take pictures of the mill around the grounds. The restaurant and gift shop are great place to fill your tummy. The fall colors are the most popular time, so expect lots of traffic and big crowds.

Unfortunately the restaurant and gift shop weren't open when we went to do the Faceless Children of the Future dolls photoshoot. However, we still had an amazing time at Mabry Mill.

Always a great place to stop along the Parkway. Really good food...but you'll probably have to wait to be seated. Friendly service & good prices.

If you are on the parkway you have to stop here for breakfast or lunch. They make excellent homemade food and the staff are great.

This is one of the best stops along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The after traveling down the Parkway, stop and see the sites at the old Mabry Mill. It's a blast from the past for sure. Then head inside and have a good meal. The prices are fair and the good is delicious. Below is a picture of the pancakes with apple compout.

This is obviously one of the more popular stops along the parkway. Its immediately on the parkway so no walking required and is free admission so I suprising it's so popular. It's a very pleasant area to stop and stretch your legs and read a little bit about mabry and what his life was like.If you're passing the area then definitely stop here, but perhaps not worth going too far out of your way.Worth noting that the restaurant wasn't open when I was here in early April.

Came here with my mom and 3 kids and we had a fun time. Food was good, service wasn't bad but wasn't great either. We enjoyed walking around the grounds too. I do wish the mill it's self was more wheelchair accessable (my mom is disabled) but other than that we had a great time!

I would give the restaurant ½ star, if possible. After waiting 1½ hours for a table, we sat down. No beverages were available for my husband, so we ordered water. Fine. My husband ordered the turkey dinner. Also fine. I ordered a chicken salad wrap and fruit. The server said, "Fine," and off she went to put our orders in. When she brought our food, my husband's order was correct. Mine? A chicken salad sandwich on toast and French fries. I said, that isn't what I ordered. Her reply, "We don't have a chicken salad wrap and fruit on the menu." I said, "But you have wraps on the menu, and sides are listed right here, including fruit." She insisted that putting the chicken salad on a tortilla wasn't possible because that isn't listed on the menu, and fruit cannot be an option, even though it is listed with fruit as a side option. I told her to take the sandwich and fries back. Really? What is wrong with this restaurant? Obviously, service isn't part of management's plan. I've been to the Mabry Mill Restaurant twice: first time; last time. Don't waste YOUR time going there.Parking: The lot is inadequate.

Because I got there early, the wait for lunch was way too long due to a long drive ahead. I decided to just order Grits and Country Ham to go. I asked if it was just plain grits. They had a lot of butter, when I only like salt added, but they were still good. But, the HAM!!!! OMGoodness! It was perfection and a decent sized slice. Had I known, I would have placed enough orders to last 3 more breakfasts. The bathrooms were easily accessible through an outside ramp or through the gift shop.

Very cute little stop on the blue ridge parkway. Restaurant a bit expensive but food is really good. Gift shop expensive too. Mill and pond so pretty. Great place to get out of house for a while and come visit.
