This place came HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and did NOT disappoint!Clean place, friendly staff and Dr. Ben and his helper were amazing!I will be taking Neely there from now on!They have private rooms so the pets don't have to be all together in a waiting room!That's a huge deal for me and my girl!Love, FLUFF, FLUFF💕🐾

First timer just moved to area, the staff were helpful and plesant..loved the vet..sorry unsure of his name but very informative he listened to issues the dogs had and very good to us..pleasant we will have as our go to vet..Thank You SCAH for making our first visit an excellent one. Jackson and Rebel are very happy too! One of our fur babies needed a minor surgery, very happy with total experience..Rebel loves staff.

We use multiple veterinarians based on animal/livestock type. We've brought our pups, dogs, and cats here. Great, fast, and reasonably priced services. ❤️😊 We most recently had our eldest cat put to sleep, as hard as the decision was, we love the fact, that they didn't question our decision or force expensive treatments.. We knew it was his time, and they respected our wishes.

Care more about their money than helping animals. Will not work with you at all. There’s way better vetnarians around this area that are more understanding and work with your situations rather than just want money upfront before they can even think about filling a prescription. Dr Halsey and his staff put themselves before the animals which is pathetic.

I have had terrible experiences boarding my dogs here.The first time I sent my dogs shot records with them. They vaccinated my dog anyway and tried to get me to pay for it until I convinced them to double check her chart and they saw I had sent records.I just picked my dogs up from a week there. We immediately noticed they were sneezing coughing and lethargic. My one dogs paws are raw and scraped. They had been in the office that morning and bathed by staff. Nobody noticed they were sick or hurt. Staff told us they knew illnesss was going around, nobody notified us and we are being charged for treatment.Dr. Halsey read this review. He, nor any other staff, seemed worried about my dogs at all. No questions were asked about their condition by staff when I called. But after the review, Dr. Halsey managed to ask where we want records sentThey have overcharged me every time I have had my dogs there and I have had to get them to fix the price. Usually, this takes some back and forth convincing the staff.I made an appointment to get my dogs ankle looked at once because he was limping and it was swollen. I arrived to find out after driving all the way to the office, their X-ray machine was broken. This place is a mess.

One Star because zero isn't an option. We boarded our dogs for a week and after picking them up, both dogs were constantly sneezing and acting lethargic and one dog had extremely red irritated skin on his paws. After contacting the so called "Smyth Co. Animal Hospital" they admitted they knew they had sick dogs boarded and that other dogs were getting sick. They did not contact us or mention it when we picked them up.All we got was negative attitudes and not one person asking how the dogs were doing. Instead we were giving the option of paying the people who knew and allowed them to get sick to care for their well being.Do NOT board your dogs there and I wouldn't go to the veterinarian there either, they don't seem to care, except about money...!

Even during the era of Covid, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Took our Athena (a GS pup) for her vaccinations and check up. Though wasn't able to meet the vet personally, all my questions were answered.

After years of loyalty to this clinic and thousands of dollars, my mother unfortunately had a bad outcome. She took her kitten in to be fixed. Surgery went fine. When she sat the cat carrier down beside her vehicle to open the door, the cat bolted from the carrier and escaped into the woods. The carrier was not latched. My elderly mother was offered no assistance in transporting the cat to her car. Sadly the office stated on social media that supposedly the carrier was defective and my mother already had the cat in the vehicle. False statements. (If the carrier was defective - which it wasn't, then why would they have let her leave with it? They were the last people to touch Bella, the cat). I picked up the carrier a few days later and latched it no problem. My elderly mother clearly latched it securely to transport to their facility to begin with. This office has not even contacted my mother offering any assistance, sympathy, thanks for years of service, apologies, nothing. A partial refund was offered at the offset when I spoke to them. The other times I tried reaching out to the clinic asking for them to at least check the traps that I set around the area - they were "too busy." Disappointed, horrified with the staff and clinic processes. I hope this is used as a cautionary tale and hopefully the clinic will improve their standard of work and public relations. I will not be back.

I wish I could give them no stars!I came in with my dog who was in a hit and run. Refused to even look at him. They were more concerned with their lunch break. Woman at the desk had absolutely no emotion or empathy.Highlands took him and gave him the care he needed.

I have a rescue dog who has to be sedated when you do anything to him... Bath, nail trim, etc....so I drop my dog off ...they call say he's ready.... Go pick him up, he's no longer sedated,. And they realized they didn't do his shots so the money charged for the sedation was for nothing because they ended up traumatizing him more by doing his shots unsedated...he was panting firecly when they brought him out to me and he did quit for 3 hours....I called to see if it was normal because he hasn't acted that way with sedation before... She said it's because r had to fight him to do the shots....SERIOUSLY!!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!! AND I AIN'T PAYING FOR THIS EITHER....GO ELSEWHERE Î!!!!

You all need to worry about the animals that you're supposed to be taking care of and stop slandering Chasity! You are committing defamation of character and she has every right to go to Smyth County circuit court and sue you all for every Facebook post everything that any of your employees have said she may end up owning Smyth County animal hospital by the time she's done with you and I would love to see her do it. My next phone call will be to Peta.

For the last 3 weeks Dr Gunter and Dr Halsey has went above and beyond to figure out what is making my fur baby sick and now he is on the road to recovery they both take time to explain everything to me.I can't thank them enough.They have been my babies Dr for 6yrs.Couldnt as for 2 better vets!!!

I wouldn't take my animal anywhere else. I took my dog Snuggles there that had a large tumor on the side of.her throat . They did surgery to remove it . We almost lost her throat but they went beyond their means to help my fur baby make it. Today, Snuggles is thriving and living life to her fullest right now.

I live an hour away from SCAH and if I lived 500 hours away I would still go here! Everyone is extremely caring, professional, and helpful. I highly recommend. They also have the best pricing around here. I paid $16 for a visit and worm medication. But, a different vets office it would have been at least $75.

This has been our vet since I was little. They've taken care of childhood dog, and now my own dog. They are all super nice, and I wouldn't want anyone else taking care of my pets.

I live about 2 hrs from here but the drive has been so worth it! Great vet! Clean facility and the staff always has the best personalities. Just wish they lived closer. Cant say enough good things about this veterinarian office. Highly recommend!!

I had to put my dog down and even though everyone was very nice I was charged an extra fee to go be with my dog as they passed. I have had a lot of pets and I can honestly say that I have never been charged extra to be with your pet as he is dying. I was frankly appalled. .

We were visiting from out of town, when our Bella seemed a little off. They squeezed her in for a same day appointment on a Saturday, and it turned out she needed surgery. With us needing to return to GA, for our upcoming move to WA, they made sure we were able to get her in on the next business day for surgery. I'm so happy to say that our sweet Bella is feeling great, and running around like nothing ever happened. I'd like to add that the staff is wonderful, and they go that extra mile for the pet patient, and the pet parents. Thank you all so very much!

They did help my dog when she got hit but we paid over $700 and they only put a splint on her leg and gave some meds. It was ridiculous 🙄.....took my dog to Taylor in Wytheville and he did a lot more for a lot less!

Staff and Dr Gunter have been great with my cat! He is a little crabby cat but they know how to charm him. They are friendly when explaining issues. I am thankful for Dr Gunter.
