Went here while on a day trip to VA. The only nice things I have to say about it is that the employees are nice, and you can get some nice clearance sales. Other than that, it's just a dingy, cramped up, IGA store. The parking lot is terrible.

They need to clean up their raw chicken sold. It usually isn’t fresh and I suggest customers smell it before they buy.. otherwise they are okay.. good variety still!But add more refrigeration to your raw chicken!

Stopped here with family members on the way back home. The grocery products were very fresh. This place reminds me of the small markets I grew up with causing me to reminisce. Very helpful and kind employees. If you're ever going through Virginia (Lower Eastern Shore) please pay them a visit. You won't be disappointed!

The prices are good, meat selection's pretty decent as well but due to the location getting in and out is hazardous considering it's right on the highway. Also, try to get there as early as possible because it is a small market and rather cramped if you get there during the rush. That being said, the staff is friendly and the specials they offer up rival the big-name markets on a weekly basis.

This isn’t the store where you will find everything the big stores have but is does have a nice selection and is a staple on the shore. The owners are a big part of the community. This place has a small town feel that so many places just do not have anymore!

This was a great place to shop before it was sold. One time I was in line and the older man at register was arguing with another customer and it made me feel uncomfortable listening to them. The younger man will follow you around the store watching you as you shop like your going to shoplift or something. Meat quality is not the best anymore, I have gotten sausage and links there several times in the past but the last few occasions the links were starting to get slimy and the smell was off although they were still in date. I stopped shopping there a few months ago due to the new owners.

So if you can stand the smell of a real butchers joint you're in for s shock. Hand cut right in front of us beautiful porterhouse steaks. They cut to your desire thickness and trim them for you. They were delicious. I've gone back twice since.

My wife and I, while living in Berlin, MD travel to Matthew's Market, often. Unique selection of canned goods and an exceptional and varied meats and poultry selection keeps us returning. So very good and fair prices. Phenomenal customer service too. But don't tell anyone!!!

Friendly staff! Wonderful selection don't let the size fool you. Great prices and deals. Don't forget the deli specials the burgers are fantastic but those subs!!! Yummy!

This place doesn't come across as looking amazing. BUT, they have a super selection of meat (beef in particular) for the area. Also, the in-house made sage sausage is very tasty. I always buy my sausage from here. A nice bonus is the ice machine in the parking lot. 2 bucks for 16 lbs of ice!

We were VERY excited to find this place yesterday, as they had some decent meats for great prices, and the only place within about an hours drive that sells sausage casings. My husband purchased 2 packs of chicken gizzards and hearts and they were refrigerated about 40 minutes later. They were prepackaged with a 11/4 sell by date, but when I took these out this morning they stunk up my kitchen before I'd even opened the package. These had gone bad before we purchased them yesterday. The only reason I'm leaving 3 stars instead on 1 is because of the sausage casings.

Turkey wings and steaks are good and always available. Had a problem with the chicken the last two times I went. I bought thighs and wing and both times the chicken had a awful smell as soon as I opened the package. I don't buy their chicken anymore.

I am thoroughly in love with the rice pudding without raisins! I would recommend anyone to stop in and check this place out! The sweetest people work here. Everyone is nice, helpful and laid back. If you are in the area you should definitely stop in and see the wonderful selection of everything here, you will thank me later 😊

It was Mr. Bruce Birthday, As I was checking out the cashier said Happy Birthday . I was Umm. She said its Mr. Bruce Birthday so he's giving something to his customers to celebrate his day. My go-to for fresh cut meats & cheese even though it's 17 miles away. Their cheese! It's the wax wrapped yellow that comes in wooden hoops sliced into wedges in-store.

Matthews Market is a store that goes well beyond other stores in that you feel welcomed as soon as you enter the door. The meats are not only awesome as well as the deli. It is easy to get in and out onto the highway. I intend to shop there more often. I encourage everyone to do the same. Let's keep our independent, local businesses thriving Eastern Shore. Small Lil store, has things you need, we foijd a 3way light bulb we could not find anywhere, the Lunch meats are great and top brands at half the price of anywhere else, Stop paying 6.99 a pound for Lunch meat. When you can get it for 2.99 a pound...also fresh local beef, steaks ...great prices, super fresh...And they have KING SYRUP..Its a nice little store with some things you may not find everywhere...my friend got Lunch meats and he devides and freezes them, in containers...I am a Pescaterian so I go in summer for his fresh corn and veggies from local farmers...and our lodge buys all the meats from them...keeping things local....is good and keeps them in business too...Its a tight squeeze in the small store..but you are sure to find something well worth it...He has some Hotdogs for 1.00 a package and...he has manager sales on different itemsAnd he has deli foods to go and can make ya a lunch to go it all looked very clean and I will go back for fresh corn on the cobb this summer....sweet sweet corn....yummmmmmmy...take you a cooler with some frozen water bottles and get ya some lunch meats...and cheeses.....divide them and freeze them....for half the price at other food stores.....

Every time I go there the chicken is always rotten and the store is so small that you can't fit shopping carts in it so why have them. The stuff they have that is super discounted is expired and they just want to get rid of it.The employees treat each other porley and their work ethic is that of a pidgeon eating its own poo. From what I have seen they cross contaminate the meats they prepare they never clean the work area after every service there for some of the food you will eat could get you really sick.If could give 0 stars I would but sadly I can't.

Mom and pop shop....You need to support them...Every time I m on the shore. I stop by to get me some pork chop, homemade edd salad taste so good... The ribs are good but not melting in your mouth kind... But still the best on the shore for the price... They have some good hotdogs too...They have a lot of groceries...They have a lot of Spanish cuisine items also...They have some good meat...Goat 🐐 beef pork 🐔 and the people who works there treats you with respect and very polite...

First time here. Staying in a nearby campground and saw the sign for the fresh meats. Figured I'd give it a try and wasn't disappointed. Definitely come back again.

The ONLY FULL SERVICE BUTCHER SHOP IN THE COUNTY!! custom cuts of the finest meats from the friendly owner/head butcher, Bruce! Dont waste your time buying meats from walmart or food lion. Go here for the best and freshest custom cuts. Plus theres a self serve ice machine out front-3$ for a HUGE BAG of fresh ice.
