Gun counter employees were unfriendly and the front counter signed me up for the wrong fishing license when I asked for a state wide freshwater license. Guys in the fishing section are super nice though. Their rewards point system also doesn’t work.

Andrew back at the gun counter was amazing! Super helpful and knowledgeable about all the options available that fit what I was looking for. Even though we weren't able to purchase one today, we know exactly where we're coming in a couple weeks when we're ready to make a purchase!

Pretty good selection of things however much of their fishing items are considerably higher than local stores. Said Raps, Senkos, premium fishing line. It’s also much higher than online stores.

It's not a very friendly place to shop. I tried to call three times before I left Concord NC to pick-up an item that there web site said was in stock in the store. Had 19 minutes total on three calls trying to reach the gun counter, they never answered. Even spoke to customerservice and they tried to connect me to the gun counter with no answer. We drove 3.25 hours to get there to only be treated by very unfriendly associate at the gun counter. His brief conversation was that their website is never right, and it was my fault for driving that far for something that was not in stock. He was rude and short, but he did not offer to help with anything else that we might have been interested in. I plan to never use their stores at all again, this was my first visit to a Sportsman Warehouse and my last.

UPDATE: This has been resolved, huge thank you to Brittany and Mike for doing right by the customer. We will return in the future!I hate to do this, but it seems I’ve been left no recourse. I debated leaving a 2nd star because the associates have at least been decent to deal with - however 11 days into this process, I would’ve expected a solution.I have a warranty claim for a pair of boots, and the store is essentially refusing to do their part and accept the return. I have made numerous phone calls back and forth with the manufacturers and the Lynchburg Sportsman Warehouse trying to resolve this issue, only to continue to be passed off.It’s unfortunate, the correct answer would’ve been to take the return/warranty claim and issue me credit- it’s the stores responsibility to file the claim at that point, not the consumer. Yet somehow here I am sending emails, making phone calls, and now writing a review trying to find a solution. I should be on the payroll! Ha!I’m hopeful this review reaches someone that can help, I’d be happy to update it once a solution is reached.

Very happy to see Sportsman’s Warehouse open in Lynchburg. It has a very good selection and competitive prices. The fishing and shooting sections are legit as is the camping section. Pics for clarity.

Terrible experience, just go somewhere else. I ordered 2 items online. I get a email they are ready for pickup. Drive an hour to get them only to be told they don’t have them in stock. Asked could I just swap them for same product in a different color they do have in stock. The employees caught attitudes with me instantly. Talked to the manager and he offered no help either basically said I’d have to cancel my order or wait for it. After leaving I went online to see when my order would come and without my consent someone had already canceled my order from this location. Sad place, will not last treating customers this way.

Incorrect prices, ring up higher at the register. When I call them the manager responds someone moved items, when I showed her the 50 boxes with the prices labeled, she responds we can't be responsible for the prices, it is what the register says. When she walks away, the cashier says it happens all the time. False advertising and cheating customers. What a business model.

New update for sportsman's warehouseBut Tom and Tom again I can only find less and less items that I need. And I'm starting to go out of town to find what I truly need.It's almost like they don't know what comes on their truck. And they can't order what you need or stop their shelves with what people want.So i'm having to do what the other people I know are doing and go out of town and look somewhere else. If you had high hopes for sportsman's warehouse, think good.

I went in to get some supplies for an upcoming backpacking trip. They had what I needed, and the prices seemed pretty fair. They are pet friendly, so I was able to bring my puppy with me. The staff was friendly and helpful. This was one of my best experiences in a big box outdoors store. I am very satisfied.

I have already spent way to much money here!Lynchburg has been in need for a good sporting goods store for a while and we finally have one. It's wonderful not having to drive to Roanoke or Richmond now for a true sporting goods store. Their prices are fair and I have not had a single bad experience with any of their staff. Every staff member I have talked to is extremely nice and all have an interest in whatever department they are in. I have personally had great experiences with the staff members in their firearms department and fishing department. Everyone was extremely kind and gave me any information I didn't already have. They have a very good used gun section and a large variety of new guns and ammunition.The sportsman's rewards is great and their warranties are fair.

Not a great first experience here. Was looking for a simple pack and some raingear. Now, while I was there on a Monday just before hunting season i still expected to find more pack options and at least some raingear. Unfortunately, Workers didn't seem interested in helping.

Purchased a bait cast reel. Went home and put line on it. When attempting to tune it using the brake knob. I discovered it was broken. Returned to the store the next day. Was told to contact manufacturer warranty claims to have it replaced. So now I have to deal with warranty service, drive to the post office and pay for postage. The reel was the last one they had and had been on display. That is probably how it was broken. That's why I did not mention the manufacturer. My issue is obviously the complete lack of customer service.

Checked out the new Lynchburg store for the first time today and it was an excellent experience. Store is laid out really well and every single employee was top notch and very friendly. So far this store is my hands down choice over the Roanoke location.
