Great place to get more affordable groceries as long as you don't mind buying "off brand"

I NEED to come here weekly, but it is WAY out of my way. Me and my grandson pick up trash in the parking lot each time we visit and then we go inside, and I get their generic bold coffee pods. I wish they had more than one toilet in the bathroom. They added self-checkout to this location, and it is odd because when you hit the help button, the only cashier on duty that is working, splits their screen and guesses what your issue is and tries to remedy it without even communicating with you, all while speedily ringing up their current customer.I hate giving Amazon more money, but here is a comparable product, in price and taste. https://amzn.to/3xkwpdQOlivia Dodson PhD

When I was just minding my own and getting alot of groceries with my kids we finally went to check out and the lady scanning the items threw them into the cart when I bought the bags especially for the store.I opened them for her to put it there carefully, and she said that she was not required to do it. If it's a good deed do it just because your not required does not mean that you can not do something good with your customer service.I'm not going there anymore .

SUPER happy they put in self check out! I quit buying here because of the tossing and fast paced cashiers. I went home with broken eggs, dented cans and smashed breads for the last time. So, I'm happy to be back with self check out, except the register voice is SUPER annoying and rushes, even the self check out person. WHY? Let us have a calm experience as we spend our money.

There are a few good finds here, but for me it didn't strike me as being enough to go out of my way for it. I found a cauliflower crust pizza which I decided to try, but each serving contains half your daily value of sodium. Yikes! I found organic ground beef (85% I believe) for almost half the cost of Walmart's, but eating it proved the quality wasn't as good since there were more little bits of bone in it than we ever get with the Walmart brand. I guess this is just hit or miss depending on what you like to buy.

Went in around the beginning of the month. Purchased 2 loaves of bread for my brother. The first one was fine, and he had no complaints. However, the second one had a piece of wood he bit into while eating a sandwich. I'm so thankful that he was able to tell me. He has a form of autism and he's high functioning. Needless to say, I'm trying to get him to stop eating so much bread, but he loves pb & j. I'm taking a break from getting white bread, bread period, honestly.

Great prices. Nice to have some imported products. A plethora of German Xmas cookies at Xmas time. Meets all your needs. Easy in, easy out.

Excellent Customer Service Young man named Austin, I think, was kind & patient checking me out while waiting for last late-night shopper to finish. He shared his dreams of land ownership & humored my 40 year old self sharing my passion for organic farming & skateboarding with 2 dogs. This awesome young man enhanced my experience by going above & beyond to inform me of a nearby Skate Park that's dog friendly 🍞🥪 🍓😀👍 💕🚗🎶⛰ 🎶🐾

Great Aldi. Has more than what I would expect from Aldi. I come weekly and always leave satisfied. There is a new Aldi on Wards road that is a little bit closer to my house, but I still go to this one.

Fresh vegetables, clean, easy to find items. My only surprise was, no shopping bags to carry out to the car. No problem, you can use little box bottoms from there, or, bring your own carry-out/shopping bags! Also, prices are a little better because they put the box containing the items on the shelves. Less work for the employees. Easier to see & reach.

I love their assortment of wines, but there isn't really much id get there, besides some of the produce and there pumpkin spice products. Don't forget to bring your own bags, and a quarter for the cart!

This place is amazing. I have never been to a grocery store with such great prices that also has nick-nacks. I always go here for eggs especially, for $0.98; you can't beat it. I go here so much for eggs that I forget that Sam's has a better deal for bulk when family comes into town.Furthermore, when it comes to the nick-nacks, they have so many seasonal items at great prices as well. Such as lawn accessories, furniture, and games. Additionally, don't let there be a sale. I have bought so much here that I have not used everything yet. I simply purchased stuff because I could walk past such a sale. Which is why I never get a cart unless I need it.Last but not least the help here is "bar none." Tonya is always so helpful and personable. She make every trip a fun and pleasant experience. Then I leave happy and with my box of groceries!

I wasn't impressed with Aldi's. It was confusing how to get in parking lot. I have never had to pay to use a cart before. I was glad there were people who knew what was going on. It seemed silly to me. The store isn't as big as I expected it to be & not everything was clearly marked. They advertise like products are so much cheaper but are priced close to most other stores or more expensive. The self check was confusing and tries to rush you through. I couldn't find a sub menu to weigh or a barcode to buy fruit. I doubt I will go back.

So busy setting up displays it was crowded. They were apologetic and helpful though so not a big issue. Otherwise, a very wide array of products at good prices. It's a bit of a drive for me so not going to be a frequent shopper, but will stop by whenever I'm in Lynchburg.

Out of a bunch of stuff and. Most of the produce I was looking for was spoiled. But still up there to sell. I am disappointed. I LOVE Aldi and one of only places I shop. But this is not up to their usual standard. Usually they pull that much spoiled food and throw away. Guessing maybe keeping it there to help make the shelves not look so bare 😞.

Was in here quick one day to purchase flowers. They had a cheaper selection than Walmart and they were roses. The cashier was friendly and we were checked through quickly.

First time in Virginia. It was busy but the store layout was convenient. The prices were competitive and they had unique items. It's a long drive for me but I will shop there every chance I get.

Being not from out here where Aldi’s are a thing - this was my first experience with one. It reminded me of a Trader Joe’s in the sense that I wouldn’t/couldn’t do ALL of my shopping here, but there’s a whole heck of a lot that is very well priced and very good quality. Something they have that Trader Joe’s does not: a little section of stuff like bathing suits, pool toys (seasonal home goods), candles, etc.Remember to bring your own bags! They’re helping the environment by not having any! (Should you forget your bags and do a big purchase, they have carts near by so you can run your stuff to your car in one trip, not my the multiple armload 🙃😉)

Can’t find everything that you’d find at a typical supermarket grocery but the quality and price is unmatched especially in Lynchburg. We save a lot of money and eat much better shopping here vs Kroger or Food Lion but occasionally need to go to the lesser stores for a specific ingredient. The aisle of revolving stuff is really cool here and I’m always trying unique treats or finding something i’ve been looking for for a while and at good prices.

First time visiting the store. I was quite impressed except the cashier was rushing me to put my food on the rotor. I was already applying my food to the rotor but paused for one second to put my phone in my purse so I could use both hands. Not sure why she was rushing and a little rude. Was surprised that there was no grocery bags and I had to place my food in the back trunk of my car one by one. Will come prepared next time. Other than those issues the store is an affordable nice place to shop at

Excellent selection. The bulk purchasing is great, hands down, I sort of wish they had grocery carts as I don't think they have any negative impact on the economy. I had heard people rave about Aldi but I just wasn't sure it would be my cup of tea but not only was it my cup of tea but it hit all my KPI's once I plugged it into my Power BI analytics software. Earlier in the day I was at the doctors office and somehow we ended up sparking friendly, neighborly conversations with, they mentioned a few things that about Aldi so I thought Id share. 1) although it is almost incomprehensible to wear cargo pants these days, as they largely became a no go, in like 2004....I still have one pair of cargo pants, so after the doctors appointment, I went home and changed. Why you ask? Well I figured, if they don't have grocery bags or they cost extra then I would utilize my cargo parkets as my plastic bags. It worked out perfectly, I put my 1lb bag of sliced peperoni's in my knee cargo pockets, all my cold cuts and cheese in the other. I put the bread in my front pockets, they smushed little bit but nothing crazy, I also utilized my belt and attached my milk and OJ(orange juice). The deodorant and the shaving cream went in my back pockets and I simply carried the important stuff, like the pork jowl and m&m's, by hand.....I've forgotten the other tip but I will come back and edit to bring you all the shopping secrets.

Self-checkout FTW!Not that their cashiers aren’t friendly &efficient-they are- but when I’m in a hurry to get In&out and want to skip the checkout line, the self-checkout stations are my favorite!

Decent deals and all but I always feel like the cashiers are in a rush and make you feel like you have to rush to get your stuff because they starts tossing the other guests stuff into the cart. They go too fast for it to be good customer service. I just left retail 2 months ago and worked there for a year and a half. You can be nice to the guest and give good customer service and be fast without rushing the guest. Good customer service is just as important as getting the customers checked out as check as possible.

The Lynchburg Aldi location is usually well stocked with very reasonable prices. However every time we try their produce it tends to go bad very quickly. A family member got very ill from the fresh broccoli we purchased and steamed soon afterwards which made us concerned to try again. The store brand options are good and there are many organics like frozen fruits or veg.

An efficient experience -Staff were hardworking and friendly. The layout of the store was easy to navigate and choices of products was sufficient. We were able to get everything on our list. Even though they were very busy the whole trip was much faster than other stores.Im a fan of this different approach to grocery.
