Stopped here on a whim. Was not disappointed. Very good chicken and sides. I wasn't expecting that from chicken at a gas station. They were busy for a reason. Mac and green beans were awesome as well. Plan to stop here again when we're traveling through.

Best of everything fried to perfection. They even have Impossible breakfast and Lunch/Dinner offerings for non meat eaters. Great store and staff. A few snack products that most urban areas Don't have.Also a large beer and IPA section.

I just love Bryan , Cleve , and the other front-end staff. They are just what you expect from a local , rural , very small-town business. They know you and what you are looking for , and , you know them. It's great to be able to approach and converse with the people that you see almost every day . This is how the whole world should be . I love the store and the employees!!

I had one of the best bacon cheeseburgers of my life here. 1/2 patty that was juicy with crispy think cut bacon, fresh lettuce and not too much mayo. The seasoned waffle fries were also excellent. This is the kind of restaurant you search for while on long drives and why it's worthwhile getting off the interstate.

I am genuinely shocked and surprised that a fried chicken place located within a gas station was this amazing. The price was right, the service was efficiently fast, and the chicken and sides were of top quality. I will bookmark this place for next time i need to travel from North VA to the southern states. I will be back.

All time go to gas station grew up sitting in the parking lot with the friends on the weekends this. Was our local meet up spot love? The fact that it's still around and hasn't shut down after all these years

Usually I LOVE the chicken coop but today I waited 40 mins and people were getting their food ahead of me who ordered after me. Also the lady checking me out didn't tell me I had to pay at the front. I'm guessing this is a new system after their renovation during the holidays? I would love to go back but I'm afraid of having to wait that long again. Not a good experience.

Stopped in while driving through because of the good reviews & it did not disappoint! Quick service, friendly employees & the the food was delicious! Fried chicken very fresh & moist, green beans & mac & cheese were super good also! Definitely recommend eating here

This happened a couple of months ago. I went in to get 2 corn muffins. The girl had a rude look and tone to her voice. She asked if I wanted the muffins heated up and I said no, that I would heat them up at home. Mind you, the muffins were in the case with other hot foods. I get home and they are hard as a rock, I heat the muffins up in my microwave for a couple of seconds thinking that they would soften up-they did not!!!!😱 They were so hard that I called and returned them and got my money back. Any fool knows that you can't leave muffins, biscuits etc. in heat all day!!! Come on people🤯!!!! The girl was rude when I showed up to get my money back, ugly attitudes in the back and the people in the front of the store are nice. I will never order anything from there again. My friend went there after my experience and the chicken wasn't done all the way through and greasy as hell. My friend was treated rudely as well. I've also witnessed them being rude to another customer as I frequent the convenience store to play my lottery numbers, but not to buy hot food. How can you employ great people for the front of the store and people with no professionalism and kindness in the back of the store??!!With that nasty food.

Awesome food. My son, his friend and another mom stopped in here after our feild trip. Not from the area just was told about this place from a distant friend. The chicken was delicious. Very home cook feeling with food. The staff was very friendly. Their prices are a little steep for things that aren't chicken based (fried chicken and tenders) but for the portions I don't think the price is bad. Very busy little location. Esp 3 pm on a Friday.

Don't be fooled by the fact that it's located in a gas station. The Chicken Coop will leave you more than satisfied with their food. Great taste and great value, and the burgers are cooked to order. A great meal for the road if you're road tripping on 29.

It's not very consistent. One time I get the chicken tenders and they are fabulous and hand battered, the second time I get them and they are cheap "walmart deli" quality. The burgers have been good each time, but this last time I had to wait 30min.... 10-15min AFTER everyone else had gotten their food and left, she finally bought it out and said that she hadn't known when the order had been placed.... even though the ticket in her hand had a time stamp at the top. If you have the time to wait and want a burger it's better than the McDs across the road, but I haven't had a desire to try the chicken again (even though that's what they are "known" for).

The best bacon cheeseburger I have ate in a long time. The young girl was so thoughtful and wrapped mine in lettuce. They were hugh. 2 dinners of these fries and drinks $20.00. Even picked up chicken for supper. Southern hospitality at its best!

Food is always good, but today service in the deli was disappointing as the one that takes the order and preps was extremely rude and disrespectful, mocking me in the back with her cook. Additionally, she left our box of food open on the counter, getting cold, for ten minutes, as we waited for our potato wedges to cook. Not impressed with the deli customer service.

The fried chicken here is magically delicious.The breading was salty and crunchy without being overtly greasy, and the chicken underneath was incredibly moist without being greasy. It's absolutely the best fried chicken I've had in my life. If you're driving by, you owe it to yourself to stop here.
