Some of the front cashiers are extremely rude!!! Management has been advised but nothing is ever done!! No one seems to care! Taking my shopping to Food Lion! A local TV station is very interested in doing a story on this. Stay tuned.

One of cashiers is very rude! Wants you to use self checkout when you have a full cart of groceries!! Has happened a number of times! Middle age dark haired lady. They have no register line open when the store opens in the morning. Will probably start shopping at Food Lion.

Self check out is a nightmare. Three separate times attendant called they have you on video that they play back showing you putting each item in your bag. Each time the lady would say yes you have that in your bag. Third time when she said it I told her each of these items could also be bought at the food Lion right down the road where they have cashier's. See my point lady...my time is valuable and big brother recording me is unacceptable.

Been shopping here for years. Today it was advertised all senior citizens would receive 5% discount. Was told the manager said it didnt apply to his store. No discount. Called HQ and got the credit. Also, I dont know why they have taken it upon them selves to stop carrying many items that sell.

First thing you'll notice about this Kroger's is the steeply angled parking lot. That can be fun in the rain, and it makes returning your empty carts really easy...just let go. No, don't do that. Really, don't.A deep selection of brands on the shelves. Vegetable selection is good, but not as deep. Freshness pretty good, but less than, say, the off-the-truck offerings at the idyllic Wegman's (somewhat to the north of VA). Didn't check the meat section.Like so many supermarkets these days, Kroger's overprices and then discounts back to a reasonable price when you have the loyalty card. And, smile, like so many supermarkets, its software will accept another store's card. The advantages of this sort of marketing must be obvious to the management...but it's not clear how it works to improve the customer's lot.

The store has a good selection and good prices and items are pretty easy to find. Where they fall short is at the checkout area. When you get checked out a lot of times they will have a bagger. There is absolutely no communication between the baggers and the cashiers. Several times items have been missed bag when I do an instacart order. And then the customer is reflect that back on me. Several times I have had to rebag items that were mistakenly bagged with the wrong order. The one person there who knows what they're doing is a young lady that I went to high school with. Robin has down syndrome and has a memory like a steel trap. I've never had her make a mistake bagging anything. She is an asset to the company just like Willie is when he greets people.

They just lost a good customer because they forced everyone to go through the self check out with large carts of groceries, only to be ignored by that attendant who stands around picking at herself and oogling in La la land and can't be bothered to help you. I will never use the self check out ever! They've had so many complaints on her but she hangs on like a parasite and they let her.

Was out of town at the George Marshall Foundation at VMI. My glucose monitor came off my arm, and I called them to see if they could help. By the time I got out of my class, I had a monitor!! Very friendly and so helpful!!

They advertised lobster tails - 2 for $10. When I asked the seafood guy at a completely empty counter if they had any left, he said, "Yes, but I'm shorthanded and can't get to the freezer to get them for you." ... Really??? I hopped across the street to Food Lion and got lobster tails - 2 for $9.98. Not only did I save 2 cents a pack, but I was able to do a quick comparison on cleanliness of store, availability and courtesy of checkout persons, and overall atmosphere. I'll be returning to Food Lion. Do better, Kroger.

Mr. Firebaugh is a great addition to this store. The young men working are always nice and polite. Yes, it's small. Yes, the parking lot is small. Don't believe there's much that can be done about that. The people are super friendly and that's, to me, what counts.

The workers here are always friendly and seem to be hard workers. I also like the sales & coupons that are available. The only complaint I have is about one of my regular purchases. They advertise 10 for $10 on Fage yogurt but never seem to be able to keep an appropriate amount on the shelf of the flavor varieties.

Certain lack of store cleanliness and to fish dept is too often announcing itself with a bad aroma at the front door. Everything else is fine. Pricing often too high. Produce is very good.

I liked this store until they completely slacked on social distancing. They spray down carts and put up signs, but the number of people not wearing masks around my FOOD is astonishing. Staff in the produce isles are also not wearing masks. I should feel safe going to this store, but I don't. I've also had an employee in the deli tell me he couldn't wait to get off work so he could get drunk. Totally unprofessional.

I have lived here for most of my life and have had years of experience shopping at the Lexington, VA Kroger to compare quality/quantity of product, cleanliness and customer service. I can say with certainty that our local Kroger is not only doing well, but exceeding in excellence in all three categories even when faced with many challenges over the last year! No establishment has ever been perfect and especially this will be the case during a WORLD WIDE PANDEMIC! Please be reasonable and patient and above all — grateful for the faithful few who show up and get the job done! Keep up the good work and I will continue to shop here as I have done so for the last 30 plus years!!

They never have any check out lines running. Even if you have a huge cart of stuff the lady will direct you to the self check out. There’s always plenty of employees there - it comes off as if they don’t want to check people out. This is especially bad later at night. There’s four check out lanes and none are used. During day time - one lane will be used, and the rest of people are sent to self check out.

I like Kroger. I buy most of my groceries there. Compared to the two other options in Lexington ( Food Lion and Walmart), there are things to like and some areas where they fall short of the competition. But all in all it is usually a good place to get food.So why just two stars? Because the true measure of a business' concern for it's customers and it's reputation can be taken when something goes wrong. How long will it take for them to take care of the problem? How much of a run-around will you get? Do they apologize sincerely and offer to compensate not just for the damages but for the inconvenience of trying to resolve it. The answers to these questions add up to the two star review.Kroger charged us twice for a single $200 transaction. I went back to the store..."oh we can't handle that at this time; come back another time". I called the number on my receipt..."you have to come to the store and talk to a manager" i went back to the store ( again) to talk to a manager "oh you have to call the national number" me: " no, you call them". To the local managers credit, she did call on my behalf but was told that the charge would not come off my card for 7-10 business days. Really?!! you want to hold on to my money another week or two even after you can see that it was your error? Not cool.If i owned a business and accidentally charged one of my customers an extra $200, i would be falling over myself to make that right and would throw in an extra $50 of store credit to recognize the inconvenience and demonstrate my sincerity. That is not even close to the reaction i got.

The red haired woman who is often attending to the self checkout is out of control. I have had several unpleasant experiences with her and witnessed her being rude to other customers on numerous occasions too. When the scale messes up on the machine I just need help with it or an override. I do not need a condescending lecture about what I'm doing wrong. Also she is usually off to the side having personal chit chat with other employees when you need assistance. The attitude problem is astonishing though, I have worked in customer service for a long time myself and it truly takes a lot for me to write a review like this as I understand that we are all human and sometimes people are just having a bad day, but with her it is constant and persistent.

This store does not have Apple Pay! I’ve had to leave my groceries with the clerk because I forgot my physical card. Update your system! I go to food lion now because they accept Apple Pay.

The employees are extremely rude. It tends to have an unpleasant smell. A good deal of the time the grapes are rotten.

I visit this Kroger once in a while and have never had a bad experience while there. The customer service is excellent and the store is clean. Product that I personally was looking for on each trip has not been available due to high demand. Which it is just fyi cotton candy grapes! Other than that its a good place for your grocery needs.

I love this particular Kroger. It's a bit smaller than others, but it has everything that I need. It's clean and well organized. The entire staff is just outstanding! Management, clerks and baggers are so very nice and very friendly. Staff on the floor are ready to answer questions, and to check stock if shelves are not stocked with items that I need. The best part though is that I am recognized and warmly welcomed from every employee I am in contact with. Well done Lexington Kroger!

Dissatisfied with young kids working yesterday! CASHIER talked to other employees while waiting on me. Told me cash back fee was 50 cents. It was Actually $3.50!! I had a question for the Service Desk, but the KIDS were congregated together! Willy was the only one that took time to listen to my question! He wasn't even working, he was shopping for himself!! He is the BEST employee you have!! I got home & 3 cans of cat food were no where to be FOUND!! DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER!! Please have at least 1 grown Adult there at All times!!

Very often when I purchase items that are marked on sale, they do not ring up at the sale price. One must then walk back to the shelf to show the cashier. What upsets me most is that no one corrects the program so that the next customer does not get over charged. Almost seems like they do not mind ringing up sale items at full price.

Deli workers today were gross. Waited awhile being ignored by them before they would acknowledge we were there. The girl cutting our meat didn't see anything wrong with lifting her hat with her gloves on and touching her hair and answering the phone. Never changed her gloves or washed her hands. We left the meat in the deli cooler and opted for prepackaged meat instead.

Never well stocked. Milk and eggs were nearly empty. A cart of trash left over from stocking. For a store of union workers - probably better paid than other employers in the area - this store is always an underperformer. The 2 local Food Lion stores always look and are better stocked than this store at the same time of day. When will Kroger ever put a good management team in this store?

Ahmad, the employee in the self-checkout lanes with the long hair, needs to stop asking customers personal questions while they check out. Where someone works or goes to school is not your business. Please stop this intrusive behavior.

Small, relatively dirty store that struggles to stay stocked in many areas with staff that have an attitude. Go to Bonsack Kroger and you will see the tremendous difference and what a quality store/staff should look like. Parking lot bad for door dings.

Super easy to find from the KOA-Natural Bridge. Reasonable prices. Great selection. Close to all fast food and things. Glad we were able to stock up and grab some things during our vacation.
