Love this Safeway. Always easy to get in and out. Customer service is great. People are friendly. Fresh fruits and veggies are always top notch. Deli counter is well stocked. Perfect small grocery store that doesn't overwhelm you like a big box.

Big store they have a lot to select from the staff were not that help helpful at this location I've seen a lot better Safeway's tonight this one here we end up buying a few items here that had fake date tags on them and a family member got sick because of them we do not recommend the store at all we actually recommend you go somewhere else and not here

Baffled at the 1 star reviews. This place is never super busy. The staff are always helpful idk if they recognize me or what but I’ve never in my life had grocery staff just casually ask me how I was doing. Everyone is friendly. If you haven’t tried the store made queso this is your sign. It’s delicious. Also the member deals are great. Store brand allergy meds were buy one get one free for members at 8$ a box. Saving 2$ off the Walgreens price and getting a free one. Not to mention you can redeem your membership rewards for free store brand stuff as well.

It used to be that you always needed to wait 5-8 minutes for a cashier, no self-service. They have renovated, there are self-service stations and things are much faster and nicer. Overall, the renovation is nice and there is a better selection of vegetables.

Safeway has always been my favorite store. For so many reasons, I need to really think about how to put it in words. Other than it's the closest Grocery that reminds me off the old Grand Union Grocery, back to the 70's in my hometown Falls Church, and Annandale VA. They just have everything I need or in one place. For me, all my favorite brands, some items I can't find anywhere. I realize that's my opinion. Yet I'm thinking that many know and feel the same, about where they shop. It would take me a few minutes to list all the items for me, and why I'm mentioning this. Yet it's just suggestive, and a matter of opinion. I know others feel the same, about their preference. I believe it's people that really make the difference, wherever your are.

People already seem friendly. Best grocery bought meat. 👍 Used the vending machine/key-maker. I needed a couple keys made fairly quick and this for the bill. It's a little more expensive than going to the Depot. But I got many more choices and the Depot was closing soon. So I paid more for convenience😉.

I have read some of the reviews. I give 5 stars. The managers have went out of there way to be friendly. Our first delivery here we were nervous but everyone was so nice and accommodating. We're from Indiana and I don't see what all the complaints are on not being modern? This store out does a lot of them in our area. Wonderful store, clean, restrooms and very friendly and helpful staff. 413 king street location. We enjoy being able to stock our truck when we deliver here. Just wish construction crew came in earlier.

Oddly, I consider this the new Safeway (as opposed to the old one, which was across the road). Still, this store is years past its prime and even a full shutdown and refresh would struggle to make it modern. Smaller refreshes only highlight how old everything is. Currently, the deli is ripped apart and there are steel plates down one whole aisle.In the past, I didn't like self-checkout. I don't work at the store, so why do I have to ring up my own purchases. Now, I consider it a must, and this store doesn't have it. Maybe a labor issue, I don't know, but whatever the reason it needs to be fixed. Combining this with a limited number of checkout lines makes for a bad experience.Still, they have all the groceries most people need and the staff are friendly and helpful.

This is for the bakery... Bonnie did a fabulous job on the cake I ordered for my daughter. I asked her to put a cat on the cake since my daughter loves cats. I wasn't able to explain what I wanted but she did it exactly what I had in mind. I wish I can post a picture it was so cute and delicious. Everyone at the party really enjoyed it. I'll definitely be going back.

Remodeled store. I've never seen this store crowded, which is nice. Check expiry dates and labels on seafood, as I've found things labeled wrong or expired. Staff is always friendly.

Decent store! Definitely a piece of Leesburg history, if you ask me!! Produce is weak in quality and general selection is not all that great. Prices are ok on some items but high on others, but hey, it's in a convenient location, and that's half the battle! I go there regularly, and I will continue to do so!

I prefer this Safeway location to the Giant that is closer on East Market Street. The Safeway is quiet and never super crowded. The selection is a bit better here than at Giant. The staff is friendly, and the deals are pretty good so long as you have one of their member cards.

This Safeway is currently undergoing a very long overdue remodel. Unfortunately there is a good bit of empty shelves. However,once done I think they will once again be a competitor in the grocery market.

If you are not in a hurry and want to see what a grocery store was like in the 70s, this is the place for you. There will always be a line of 5 or 6 people regardless of how empty the store is. The store is dated and needed a refresh 10+ years ago. The one positive is the pharmacists are great, kind, knowledgable and friendly.

I've never really been to a Safeway before, but I am happy to say they have a lot of things that are usually out of stock at other places. The only con to it is there is usually only one or two registers and no self checkout, so if you come in for only a few things, you may be stuck behind multiple people buying their months worth of supplies.

So I generally purchase Ben and Jerry’s ice cream every 6 months or so. I went to the freezer section a saw a tag advertising 3 for $10. I thought to myself, I’ll take advantage of the promotion.I went to check out and told the cashier I didn’t have my card for the discount and would he be kind enough to give me the discount? He then said that will be $14.89. I said what about the discount? He then asked me to walk back to the freezer to show him the discount. Well on our way the manager followed us and they saw the discount tag. I then had to follow the manager to customer service desk. He ran the items to credit my card and said, oh! That’s not for Ben and Jerry’s, it’s Häagen-Dazs. I said the tag only says 3 for $10. It was right under the first row, but next to B&Jerrys. No message on what product and right next to B&Jerrys. No apology or adjustment on my card. This is done intentionally and this manager should have adjusted my purchase. I won’t shop there anymore. There are plenty of other choices and I won’t support a business that isn’t interested in customer service.They need to better train their managers.

I feel like Safeway is a grocery store chain that's probably going to fade away in the next five to ten years. The prices are higher than at Food Lion, and since it's a smaller grocery store, the selection is not always as good. Plus, this Safeway in Leesburg always seems to be understaffed, so that there are long lines, even to buy just one or two things. And they haven't gone to automated checkouts for customers with only a few items, either. I definitely would not recommend the pharmacy here. However, one bright spot is that their wine selection seems to be pretty extensive, if you like that kind of thing.

I ordered online for pick up and made sure that I checked "no substitutions." When I received my order not only were there many substitutions, but they subbed non vegan items for vegan items.

This place is like the Twilight Zone of grocery stores. There are always long lines to checkout and only one cashier working, and the place is kind of odd and depressing. I give two stars because it's convenient (good location, open long hours) and they have a decent selection for a small store.

Purchased some pork chops.They looked good. My wife cooked them up. Thought she over cooked them Like eating raw hide. Need a saws aw to cut them. Cooked one my self to check. Toughest meat I've ever ate. Would not feed it to my dogs. Must have come from old sick pig. Get it together Safeway. I'll never buy meat from your stores again!

Easy to get in and out. A good selection of fresh produce and ask the normal things you'd expect to find in a grocery store. Prices are great when there is a sale.

This is one of the oldest groceries in Leesburg, and you can tell. I go there for soft drinks, energy drinks and tea. The pharmacy is very good with rarely any line. The meat department is.. to be avoided.
