Took my baby girl Jasmine she was near death when I got her there.They took her straight in even though she had never been there.They started working with and did tests found out she has an enlarged heart. Dr.Michelle is wonderful took care of her like she was her own and the staff are great ! Got to bring Jasmine home the next day and she is doing wonderful! Would highly recommend to anyone Awesome group of people!!!💯

I appreciate what was done on Tuesday, 2/15/2022, to try to help my precious baby Emma. She was in a car wreck with me and my other puppy, Sophie, that wasn't injured. We were blessed with an angel that brought Emma on to the SVVS to try to help her. I was in the car and couldn't get to her to try to help her. I feel like everyone at the clinic did what they could to save her, but it was out of their control. God decided that He wanted a beautiful little Yorkie named Emma to be in His home. Sophie has had the same Vet for years, but I would recommend the SVVS to anyone that wants their animals taken to very caring staff and doctors.

I’ve been here twice, they saved my pups life and the vets and staff are amazing and genuinely care, I really think that’s an important factor in getting your pet to feel better! My aunt found puppies at a barn her husband works at, they where extremely sick and I couldn’t care for them, it was a Saturday and they where closed, but the vet had to come in for another emergency and she took them in, she does many other things on top of this and she deserves so much! Thank God for an answered prayer she was truly a blessing!! It may be pricy there but it is truly worth it! If they can’t help you then they will find you the help you need! Definitely deserves more volunteers and fundraisers for what she did!! Thank you!

SVVS is wonderful. We've been bringing our pets here for a few years now. We've been for emergency visits, dental cleans, spays/neuter, checkups, and boarding. I've noticed a lot of people complain about the price but you really get the highest quality of care for that price. The emergency care for clients is great and they call to check on your pet to make sure they are doing better. We have one dog with behavioral issues and she does great with vets, techs, and boarding personnel. Everyone is so nice and very knowledgeable. The best vet in the area hands down.

Amazing staff! Just had our first visit with Dr. Peggy and I am super impressed with the entire staff. They are all very time efficient, caring and compassionate. I left feeling very confident in my 15 year old mini dachshunds care. I would highly recommend taking your pet there, you will not regret the decision!!

Absolutely amazing staff!! My sweet cat Pepper was extremely sick and had a condition without a “cure”. Unfortunately there was nothing we could do to heal him, but they were so so compassionate and caring. I felt as if they loved him just as much as me! The Vet was extremely helpful as I was going through a hard time when learning about my cats condition and also after we had to say our goodbyes to him. Definitely the best veterinarians around and I would highly recommend taking your pets there!!

The staff is very friendly and the office is clean. After taking my sweet baby to see Dr Meister-Jones, she never properly looked at my Yorkie’s lump on his belly, only felt of it. My baby was misdiagnosed and when I sought a second opinion, I realized how over priced this office is. And the Dr. never admitted that she made a big mistake.

LOVE THEM! The staff is always friendly and professional. I love their AHA accreditation; to me that means that they are truly invested in the quality of service they provide. I am always impressed with the office, it is always clean and welcoming. Most importantly, I love the way they care for my pets. They treat my pets like their pets. I have no doubts that I am getting the best care every time I go there. They are the best, I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else.

Outstanding care for your furry scaly and feathered friends. The team of doctors, certified technicians, other certified staff members and supporting staff is phenomenal. I have never seen care for animals and their families at this level and with so much love and compassion. It's all around care, be it vet care, training, grooming or caring for your furball while you are on vacation or just out of town for a day or two.And on top of that SVVS is involved in the community and strives to make it a little brighter and better one event at the time.

We love this place! They treat us like family, they worked until they figured out a treatment for my dog’s itching/allergy problems and she has had so much relief with the proper treatment! They do a thorough exam each time we come and it makes me feel so much better knowing she is healthy when we leave. We will be lifelong patients of SVVS

The vets and staff at SVVS are the best. We have been taking our fur babies to them for years and I always feel they receive the best care possible. They are very caring and helpful and always willing to help. I have heard some people say they are too expensive, but in my opinion, you get what you pay for, and we are "getting the best out there".

I've used SVVS for almost 20 years. I have used a lot of vets in my lifetime with dogs but never found a practice so advanced and cutting edge. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Both Dr Peggy and Dr Michelle stay current with the latest research and are gifted diagnosticians. I recommend them to all of my dog owner friends. I drive 2 1/2 hrs each way to take my dogs to SVVS. That should speak volumes about the level of care this practice provides. There is none better.

SVVS is the best. I wouldn't dream of taking my kitties any where else. I've been coming here for probably 25 years or longer and have never been disappointed. Dr. Rucker always explains everything and answers any question you might have. She is kind, compassionate and treats my kitties as if they were her own. Ruth (front desk) is so very friendly. Everyone there is just great! If I say it real fast, I don't even mind the 1 hour drive, each way.

Dr. Allison Sparks is the most amazing vet. She was extremely patient and gentle with my babies. She listened to my concerns about their health and answered all of my questions. Dr. Sparks truly cares about your animals wellbeing and it is extremely evident in the way she practices veterinary medicine. She and the vet techs made my nervous dog feel so comfortable she took a nap on the examination table. The staff here is super friendly and kind, and the facility is beautiful. Highly recommend this vet!!

First I like to say I have been to many vet places with many dogs over the years. And by far southwest veterinary services out shines every single place I have ever took any of my animals. I have called them at 4 am I have called them on sundays and not one time have they ever turn me down or not showed up for a emergency case. And my princess Foxy loves them. Tell you the truth if they do people I let them operate on me. My dog has better health care than I do. They are a little higher than some places but people you get what you pay for. They do lab work better most doctor offices. If your pets are like one of your family members than this is place you want to go to.Thank you for all your great services.

I absolutely love taking my Schnauzer to SVVS. They are very attentive and caring and go above and beyond at every visit. I can tell they take pride in caring for others fur babies. I won't go anywhere else. Definitely recommend!

I only gave a 5 star rating because 100 stars aren't available here! I have to say that every worker at southwest va vet are nothing short than angels! They go above and beyond to take care of their furry clients and their families as well! I have never spoken with a vet or even a medical dr, that is so patient and knowledgeable! I have always used southwest vet since I first got my baby Kipper until the past couple years and I used a vet closer to home and boy, what a mistake! This past week I had an emergency with my baby, took him to the other vet and hadn't even got out of the parking lot when I was on the phone calling Dr Rucker! Even calling after hours, you will never feel like a bother, and I will never be able to put into words how thankful I am for dr Casey Holmes for talking me through a very rough night with my sick pup and for sacrificing her Sunday morning with her new baby, to come in and save my Kipper from what would have been certain death! They will take the time to explain things to you, answer any and every question, and will make you feel very confident that your pet is in the best hands possible! Folks, if you want to feel comfortable and confident about the care of your baby- go see these angels!

We have been using SVVS for 19 years and have had many many cats treated there. I can only praise the care they have given our babies. They have the staff and instruments that are needed for great results. Dr. Rucker has called us at 9 pm, still in the office caring for our pets. Everyone is cordial and will help any way possible.

Everyone is very sweet and understanding. I recently had both my babies there for a procedure. After they came home, Dr Sparks called later that night to check on them. I've never had a vet do that before. The quality of care and professionalism this office provides is the best you'll find.

Clean facilities and offers boarding.....but...vet was too quick to diagnose and sent home expensive meds that were not right for my dog. One vet visit for worms ..$650.00....for one dog!!!Be prepared to see a vet tech as seeing an actual veterinarian will cost so much more.Took one dog to have blood test for heartworm (techs took him back and he was out within minutes) and to screen a poop sample....$173.00. Even tho they have a lab onsite....they send samples "out". When I asked why-was told price was double for them to use onsite lab! That does not make sense to me. I cannot continue to pay their mortgage-i have my own mortgage!!But they are so nice!! If you can afford them.....

SVVS are Awesome!!! They treat our fur babies as if they were their own. Marley and Thomas has the best care. Everyone is always friendly and Compassionate and Loving. The day we lost our Sweet Golden Rowdy, they were there for us in every way possible.... Our Grief continues, each day we remember Rowdy.... ❤️ ... if you don’t have a Vet.... I have been a client since Peg opened the practice many years ago (almost 45). I would never dream of taking my "kids" anywhere else. I wish some of the physicians would run their practices as well as this one is run. Everyone in this facility has the utmost respect and love for the fur babies and their owners. I hate it when my babies are sick but knowing that these wonderful people will care for them is such a relief. There simply are no words that can describe their dedication, love, and skill in treating all animals.

Terrible experience. We were there for 2 hours, my dogs and cat were in a smaller , hot room and offered no water. I had almost no time with the vet as she "was too busy". They treated my dog for UTI with amoxicillin; did not test to see what kind of bacteria it was. Now she has another UTI .They charged $56 for RX l could have gotten at Walgreens for $22. They charged $300 for treatment. I got conflicting reports about the blood work results and urinalysis. Also, was told by Margaret Tucker that the "vet" we saw in April for our dog with serious health problems was a student . I've been to many vets in 4 states and have never had such a bad experience.
