We rented the pontoon with the double slides. We had a great experience renting from here. Everyone enjoyed jumping off the boat and using the slides. Will made sure we had a great time. He's very courteous and knowledgeable about Smith Mountain Lake. It was a great day out on the lake!

The past 2 years I have been part of a group of friends that has rented Pontoon Boats from Parkway Marina. I personally haven’t rented in my name but we all pitch in to pay for the rental. Both years we were took pictures of the props before we left the Marina and both years the props showed signs of damage but still had life left in them. Both years we had to pay to replace the props when we turned the Pontoon back in which was nothing more than a scam for them to make extra money. Not my decision but the group tried to book a rental for this summer and were told due to past rental experience’s we couldn’t rent from them this year.We have spent a lot of money renting and paying for replacement props that Parkway Marina has accused us of further damage.I hope anyone thinking about renting from these crooks reconsiders.I am in hopes that not all boat rental businesses on SML aren’t as shady as Parkway Marina.

My family and I rented the fishing pontoon for several days over the summer and had a great experience. The staffed booked the pontoon and had it ready to go early on the morning of our arrival. The best part of the experience was the staff. Very professional and dedicated to customer service.

We rented a 53' house boat from parrot cove. 2nd day needed to replenish ice and drinks. Pulled into marina and we were greeted by 2 guys on the dock to help us tie up the boat. They were awesome helping me dock that monster boat. Staff in the store were great. Got drinks, ice and t shirts. Great oasis when your down on that side of the lake.

We rented the party pontoon. I called several weeks in advance and made the reservation for our bachelor party to take the party pontoon. My email inquiry I asked about Friday, when I called, I asked for them to change the reservation to Sunday.When we arrived when the business opened, no one had gotten there yet. When the crew came in a few minutes past 8, I was rudely and flatly informed by a woman that boat rental didn’t start until 9. So we waited, and a polite man said he would try to get us in as soon as he could. A few minutes later we were informed the party pontoon had been double booked because my reservation was on there books for the day before. They had a boat that would be available for us they just needed to get it ready. An hour and a half, we were no closer to getting our boat, no one seemed to be aware of the situation, and it didn’t seem to be likely we would be getting a boat, so we left. Needless to say our bachelor crew was disappointed about our boat day being ruined by what was the worst customer service that I’ve ever seen in my life.

Rented a boat for the day and was accused of damaging the prop. Luckily I took pictures before we left in the morning or else they would have tried to charge me for the damages that I even made them aware of before leaving. Not the way to do business. If you are looking for an honest company to rent a boat from I highly recommend Gills Creek marina. I will never return to Parkway.

We have rented pontoons from Parkway about 10 years in a row during our annual lake trip.Upgraded to the double slide this year but was disappointed that there was no anchor available. We spent more time chasing the thing while swimming than enjoying it. Hopefully there will be better inventory of hardware in the future.

We rented a Deluxe Pontoon on 07/24/22.Check in process was quick and easy.Boat was in good condition.Return process was also easy and quick.Staff was helpful and made sure we had all we needed to have a great day on the water.Will definitely rent here again!

Parkway Marina was an awesome venue to have our son's wedding this past weekend. Ronnee and the staff were always available and helpful to us with anything we needed. The picturesque views were stunning and the weather was perfect which made the day wonderful! I highly recommend Parkway Marina for a wedding/gathering!

We had a great experience with Parkway Marina. We rented a pontoon boat for the day and it was the highlight of the trip. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The deposit refund delay was communicated. The potential for prop damage was effectively communicated in a pleasant manner and we were encouraged to take photos of everything in case of a damage dispute. The boat (deluxe pontoon) was very nice and everything we would have expected. We could bring our pet, which was a huge plus. The price was terrific and, again, the staff was very nice and extremely helpful. Returning the boat was easy and as panless as possible. Thank you Parkway Marina for a great day on the water.

We’ve had our boat (and now our jet skis) at Parkway for almost 4 years and the service has been nothing short of awesome. We had an issue with our prop last season and they did everything they could to get it fixed, installed and gave me a great price on a hard to find spare... all within days! This saved our family lake trip and earned our trust. The staff is always friendly, helpful and polite. Great folks doing great work to satisfy their customers.

Launched at Parkway Marina for a college fishing tournament and ended up having motor issues halfway through the day. The owner and one of the mechanics at the marina were super friendly and nice and helped me troubleshoot the issue and get the engine back on the transom saver so I could safely trailer my boat home. Thanks so much again!

Amazing experience for our first time at Smith Mountain Lake. Surprised my wife for her birthday and she loved every second of it! The boat was in tip top shape. Very well organized. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Even if it’s your first time, the staff takes their time to guide you on how to operate their boats. Highly recommend! I will be coming back!

My family and I rented a boat for 2 days this past week. We were so happy with the boat, the staff and how easy it was to rent and dock etc that we decided to rent a larger boat for a 3rd day to go tubing. Definitely the highlight of our trip and I know where we will be going from now on

Parkway Marina (specifically James) has long taken care of storage and maintenance of my boat - they have done a great job. When out on the lake recently, my extended family was using my boat and could not get it started when ready to leave anchor. Noah from Parkway Marina responded to their call for help and arrived in less than 20 minutes. He got the boat started (minor issue) and my family was on their way. Excellent service and response time. Thanks!

Horrible staff service. Double booked our boat rental on the Labor Day holiday. We had some super disappointed kids. An easy system for managing boat rentals seems like a ‘must have’ for this type of business.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The owner of the marina is Racist (I am an Indian woman and my father-in-law is Native American), very rude, and used profanity with us when our lives and our $25,000+ boat was in danger. We had our boat docked about a mile away from the marina and the wind had gotten so bad our bass tracker started taking on water. The boat almost went completely down. We finally got enough water out of the boat to take it back to the marina to get it on our trailer. We are aware of the “no wake” law and have come to this marina for many years now for vacations about twice a year. We had gotten near the marina when a man started yelling at us from the dock. As we got closer we realized he was yelling at us. We were not even going fast enough to cause wake that would disturb the rentals and other boats in the marine. We were just trying to get our boat out of the water. He started yelling at us and using profanity. We explained the situation and he responded with “you should have put the plug in” obviously we are not stupid and had the plug in the boat before we put it in the water. We got angry and started yelling back at him and using profanity. He informed us that he was the owner of the marina and we were not welcome here anymore. We informed him that our lives and our boat was in danger. He said it did not matter because we were disrespecting the law. I’m sorry but no business owner should treat anyone like that especially when our lives are in danger. He could have tried helping us or even stopped yelling and be quiet. That really left a bad taste in our mouths and we will not be going there again. If you give this place your business please be sure nothing unexpected or life threatening happens or you may face the same disrespect we did by the owner. I do not want to destroy their business but please be cautious of the owners temper and how he may desirespect you. It really bothers me the things he said to us and I really hope no one gets to feel the way I do right now.

Terrible experience. We rented a pontoon for half day. Our boat got stuck in shallow water near an island. Called the owner for help, he comes in his boat and starts screaming at us. It was my first time riding a boat and I was not quite sure of all the technical stuff regarding the motor etc. The guy started screaming at us as I could not find the switch to lift the motor. Once our pontoon was out of shallow water, I drove it back and returned it. The owner pretty much destroyed my trip. Expected him to be a little more courteous to customers. Never going back again !

We rented a pontoon boat for the day. Enjoyed the day as everything was perfect, UNTIL we returned the boat promptly on time. James looked at the prop and immediately told my husband we ran over something and broke it. There was no consideration given to the fact that we told him that no such thing happened. We would have known we ran over something to "break" it the way we were being accused. We were very diligent at trimming the motor up every time we went ashore. Be certain to take a picture of the prop before you pull away. James' attitude was far less than polite, very abbrasive, and rude. They will never get our business again. And by the way, my husband is a 30 year merchant mariner tug operator and knows what a wheel strike sounds like.

Responsive to our boating problem. A young man named McCabe found us, brought a new battery, and saved the day. We filled up at the marina and grabbed drinks at the store. Great little set up for easy in and out. Grateful for the assistance and boating advice.

The owner, James, was very rude and literally yelled at me because his staff interrupted him when he was busy doing something else because they could not answer my questions.The boat was supposed to be a premium boat but it was obviously old, was much slower than it should have been and vibrated and sputtered at full throttle.

enjoyed the boat but be aware that you may not get your deposit returned for up to 10 days after your rental. they fail to share that information at the time of rental so be forewarned.
