I use to take my 15 mo dog for Spa service at least once a month. I did take him for day care couple times before also boarded him for 4 nights So I can say friendly and professional staff. They love what they are doing!

The staff members are very friendly. They take very good care of my dog. My dog is always happy to go there. They have camera system set up so you can watch your Dog play. And the services that they offer are great.

Dogtopia of Herndon is absolutely incredible! After years of wanting a dog, we finally adopted a one year old from a local shelter. As with some adoptions, we faced challenges early on with separation anxiety and barking when left alone. We live in an apartment and were very stressed about the entire situation. My partner works from home, so we started looking into dog daycares in the area as an option if we went out for the day or away for the weekend. The first daycare place we looked into (not Dogtopia) had breed restrictions. We were told that because she was listed as a mixed breed on her adoption forms and is likely a staffy mix, she would not be allowed out with other dogs and would have to stay in a kennel by herself. Then I came across Dogtopia! The staff members are all very friendly and helpful, and they accept all breeds following a successful meet and greet. We aren’t very sure what our dog’s past was like, but she is anxious about changes in routines. The staff members work so well with her, especially when we drop her off. We have now had her for almost a year, and she has made incredible improvements when left alone in our apartment for periods of time. She no longer barks or perches on top of the couch staring at the door until we return. Now we catch her curled up sleeping on the Furbo when we’re away! We believe these improvements are from time to settle in after adoption, guidance from our vet, and her time spent building up independence at Dogtopia. We love how quick and easy it is to drop her off and pick her up, and the Dogtopia app makes it super easy to book overnight stays. They are also on top of keeping all vaccinations up to date so all the dogs stay healthy. We have been taking her to Dogtopia for 8 months now, and we continue to be grateful for them every single day!

Everyone is so welcoming to my high energy 60lb baby. I love how excited he gets when we pull into the parking lot. Every single person is so loving with all the dog. I am so happy I started Bronco here. He loves playing with his friends.

We have taken are dog multiple times and although the daycare is okay, the overnight treatment has been disappointing. The team did not follow medication directions, multiple times, and refused to give our dog her bed and blankets that we provided, making her sleep on the hard crate, we only found out when we had to go back and pick them up because they weren't stored in the same place as normal. We wish that we were informed of our dog's treatment and that the staff could follow simple medication instructions. It is dangerous and put our dog in an unsafe and uncomfortable position. We will not be returning after the multiple trips with issues.

Dogtopia Herndon has a wonderful caring staff and a large indoor play area for your dog to play and interact with other dogs. The staff makes a point of making doggie daycare fun by planning special events for the dogs during the week and celebrating throughout the year with fun photo ops of your dog on special days and holidays. My dog Sophie is always super excited to go play wth her friends at Dogtopia!

My sister was telling me about her experience at dogtopia, and as a business owner, i felt the need to provide the feedback because it is unacceptable. She waited in the lobby for two minutes before anyone came out to greet her. She said there was a new person in the office and was just on the computer and not paying attention to the lobby. She didn’t feel cared for, so how does she know if her dog is being cared for? She said it usually isn’t like this. Should pay more attention to the lobby next time.

DO NOT TRUST THEM TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR PET.I will leave my original 5 star review below out of fairness... because we used to LOVE Dogtopia of Herndon. We've been taking our dog to this facility for 9 years, and we loved the previous manager. However, management has changed and there is a definite change in the care you now receive. They called my husband at 4:38pm to let him know our dog had been injured and they would send an image, however, they didn't think his injury looked bad enough to require stitches. Once the image was sent it was clear that it would require stitches and I called our vet immediately. Since they didn't call us until nearly 5pm we could not get in to see our vet and had to take him to emergency care. They told us that they would need to "review the footage" to find out what happened, but they believed it occurred "between 2-4pm." Again, we were notified at 4:38.When we arrived at Dogtopia Herndon to pick him up, they said it looked like he had gotten into a scuffle with another dog and the other dog would no longer be allowed to come back to this facility. They had still not taken responsibility for the incident. He required 3 staples, pain meds, antibiotics and a cone. He has pretty much refused to take most of his meds so that alone has been a huge headache to deal with. The district manager, Kelly Kirby, refuses to let me see the footage for the "security of the other dogs." However, if you're familiar with Dogtopia you already know that the live stream is available all day long, so this seems like a stretch. She has insisted that an employee was in the room at the time and the incident was handled as it was happening, and we were notified immediately. Her story clearly does not match the original story and our timeline of events. If an employee was present, and we were notified immediately, they would not have needed to review the footage to find out what happened, and we would have been called sooner.I understand that as pet parents we took responsibility for our dog and his potential injuries at this facility. I understand that we signed a waiver. However, I also feel like this incident should have been handled quicker and with much more sympathy. I will never bring my dog back to this facility or any Dogtopia within Kelly Kirby's district because this is a terrible way to handle an injury. The fact that they are blatantly trying to cover up what happened by not letting me see the footage is concerning, and the way that she has repeatedly told me to "trust her" has made me more suspicious of the entire incident.******OLD REVIEW... NO LONGER VALIDLove Dogtopia of Herndon. My dog comes home happy and healthy every time we take him. They make sure your dog is up to date on necessary vaccines (there's even a vet office downstairs), and they require a trial play time to see how your dog interacts before their first stay. They also have webcams so you can watch your dog throughout the day.Seems a little pricy for dog daycare, but it's comparable to other facilities in the area. The only thing I do not like is that there is no outdoor play area and that my dog has to relieve himself indoors, at first we were worried that he would bring that mentality home with him, but he never did.The staff are all friendly and attentive, and they offer other services like nail trims and baths.

My dog still goes here (7 years now) but just not as often - she's 10 years old and a little more settled down. Dogtopia Herndon is convenient, clean, great staff and my dogs loves them. Being single, it's nice for her to have socialization with other dogs and other people most days and I can get work done without interruption. The weekend hours are great and really help out if I have to work (which can be up til 7pm) or if I want to go somewhere that dogs aren't allowed (gasp!). Nice to know she's not sitting at home alone for hours and has some stimulation and good company when she's not with me.

I can’t even start to explain how amazing the staff at Dogtopia Herndon are. Specifically Allison and Sara went above and beyond for me and my dog when I was in a time crunch and extremely stressed. We have boarded elsewhere and our dog is always stressed about it, but he runs right into Dogtopia. I cannot stress enough these people are AMAZING.

I’ve been taking my dog here for a couple years now with no complaints. They offer daily day-care as well as boarding; I’ve done both. Drop-off & pick-up is very quick, and the people are friendly. They have cameras that allow monitoring with the mobile app, so it’s easy to check on your best friend to see how he/she is doing. The facility is 100% indoors, no outdoor runs. Your dog must get along well with other dogs since they are all together in one of two rooms based on their size.

Cannot speak on the daycare facilities etc, but we had our two pups groomed by Hailey or Haley, and she did a wonderful job. We will for sure use her in the future.I will say it was confusing to find the place—it’s upstairs from the parking lot and there is an elevator or staircase. You will smell that you’re in the right place 😂

My pup always comes home tired and is always excited to go to Dogtopia. The staff quickly learned his name after we started going weekly and I always receive personal feedback about his day, what he enjoyed, and who he played with. He even gets report cards sometimes. I can tell they care greatly for dogs and spend time getting to know the dogs during the day and that they are treated well. My puppy is also challenged mentally as he receives training throughout the day and I can tell that they spend time on this as he is improving in his behavior the more time he spends there. The balance of work and play is great for him! I am grateful for their kindness, care, and time they spend with all the dogs and the peace of mind that comes with it! I know he is taken care of, is getting socialized, staying active, and is learning while he is there! I highly recommend.

In short, subpar facilities and a subpar staff.I only did a meet and greet but was dissatisfied with this establishment's facilities, staff, and leadership. The pictures of the facility on their website and google page are misleading, with play areas significantly smaller than when shown the facilities. The business offers boarding; however, its “overnight facilities” consist only of floorless crates postured in the play areas. For the daily prices and plans they offer, it is better to look at other facilities with better space and amenities or hire a dog walker who can give personalized attention to your dogs.Additionally, another concern is how the leadership conducts business and the untrained staff. Firstly, the business “nickel and dimes” you for every service, including the meet and greet, where every other doggy daycare center will do that for free and then charge you a discounted price if they stay for the day. Furthermore, the staff instructs you to complete all required documents online and submit vaccination records. However, they did not know how to access that information and required me to do it again in person due to their inability to figure out their systems. Due to this inconvenience, I requested the day to be comped, which the staff said they would check with their “manager.” Against my better judgment, I left my dogs at the facility, and upon my return, the manager strictly stated, “you made the decision,” and refused to comp the day based on my discussion with the untrained staff in the morning. In conclusion, I have been to many doggy daycare facilities across the United States due to my career and thus have witnessed a multitude of facilities and staff. It is my personal opinion that this business is ineffective in creating an environment for dogs, and you can go to any other facility in the area and get a better deal and experience compared to this place. Do not take your dogs here.

I most recently boarded my lab at Dogtopia Herndon for 3 nights in January when my usual dogsitter (a family member) was out of town. I was very busy on my trip, but I had peace of mind knowing she was being well cared for in a safe facility. I checked in a couple times on the daycare video feed, and they texted me a photo of my girl where I could tell she was wagging her tail. I came home tired from my trip, but the dog was even more tired... What could be better? She had a great time at sleepaway camp!

Employees and manager are disrespectful and unprofessional. Actually stated they don't take the pets outside for potty breaks because there is "too many" which only back pedals any training clients have given to their pets. Their attitudes as well as their negligence is disgusting and should be reported. This is a daycare AND boarding facility and the ability to go potty outside is a basic, fundamental service that should be provided no matter what!

Why we like Dogtopia at Herndon?- The staffs are really nice, friendly, helpful, informative and you could tell they really love their job and love dogs! And that’s a very important factor when choosing a place where you leave your puff baby under their care.- They have accessible videos you can watch while you’re away is a huge plus for the facility.Update: video cam is not available on weekends 😟- They create fun activities for the dogs.- The place looks neat, clean and new.Our dog Nala is always excited to go there. And she looks happy and taken care of. Thank you all to the dedicated and responsible staffs at Dogtopia Herndon. I highly recommend the place! I wish I brought her here when she’s younger.

We love sending our dog to Dogtopia for “school” three days a week. Especially during the height of the pandemic, it was wonderful to get our pup out of the house and engaged with other dogs. She truly thinks Dogtopia is the best place ever! The staff are so caring, attentive and all-around wonderful. Try Dogtopia for your dog and tell them Maude sent you!

My dog is always happy and exhausted after going to Dogtopia. Very easy pick up and drop off along with booking appointments on their app. Friendly and attentive staff and the hours are very convenient. It's also wonderful to see your pup on the webcam either on your computer and phone. Great place and I highly recommend!

The Dogtopia staff are super friendly and love the dogs (especially mine). They are flexible and have great hours. I feel totally comfortable leaving my dog with them for daycare or boarding.

My dog loves it here, but they really need more employees at pick up time. Usually there is only one person, who is often busy with other things (washing dogs, etc). Today I came the same time as someone who was there for a meet and greet. The employee did not address me at all until she came back from the meet and greet 15 minutes later, and now there are four people waiting for their pet.

I'm updating my review from 5 to 3 stars because I feel that the quality of the daycare/boarding has gone down. My dog has been going here since he was a young pup and was loved by many of the former staff (none seem to work there anymore). we've boarded him a few times as well. The last two times he's been there he got severe crate rub on his nose. It's odd like maybe he was left in the crate too long and the environment was making him anxious. This is very strange because he's so excited and happy to be there that he runs back with the workers to the daycare areas. He is a bully breed and I'm not sure if the inexperienced staff likes bully breeds as much as the workers who were there before. I don't feel like I can rely on Dogtopia of Herndon anymore.

Great place to board your dog while away from home or to send for some fun during the day. Not overly fancy and an outdoor space would be nice but a very caring staff and my dog loves it here; nearly pulls my arm off to get up the stairs and play with the other dogs.

Dogtopia of Herndon is great, and the staff is amazing! I have been taking my puppy to Dogtopia of Herndon for a little over 2 months. My puppy gets excited as soon as we pull into the parking lot in the morning. It is great that my puppy is able to socialize with other dogs instead of staying home alone while I am at work. The highlight of the day is seeing my puppy burst through the door and sprint to me when I go to pick him up in the evening.

They are about the money and not really the fit, comfort or well being of the dogs. I took my dog for a Meet and Greet. She was terrified and did not adjust while there for about 20 mins. I had her removed from the room because of her anxiety. I paid the Meet and Greet evaluation fee of $30.My dog is alittle more mature now so I called back to let my dog try the center again, using the "Free Play Pass" that they advertise on their website, and they would not honor it. The center already made $30 off me to "pass/approve" my dog, and when I wanted to give it another try to see if my dog will adjust they want me to pay another $32 (half day rate) for potentially, another anxious 20 mins for my dog. They don't seem to be concerned with the fit or comfort of the dogs.I was also nervous because there was about 20 dogs in a room with only 1 attendant but I thought they could have been short staffed that day. Now seeing how money driven they are it does not surprise me that they are not well staffed. The website is false advertising, used to get you to come "pay" for the "Meet and Greet". (My guess is that other franchises run by different people may honor it)Now reading other reviews, I'm thankful that I didn't leave my dog in Herndon. Not sure how other franchises are operated but Herndon is a NO for me.

The quality of service has gone down drastically in the last year. I believe the previous manager Brandy Schlegel doesn’t work there anymore . My dog had a good time when she was around both at daycare and for his grooming . The current groomer asks me how to trim a dogs nails . They look very inexperienced . I don’t recommend this place anymore . You can’t have all novices run a dog daycare and grooming place

Love this place and the people. It’s amazing. They love the dogs as their own and are so thoughtful. I always bring my dogs here and love how they remember my pups. My one guy runs and jumps into the managers arms. And he’s my shy guy. I highly recommend Dogtopia in Herndon.

Staff is wonderful! They truly love the dogs. They are communicative, friendly, and kind. We've been coming to this location for years. Our dogs start jumpin' as we turn into the parking lot! Woof! Roxy & Cookie give them two paws up.
