This kennel is terrible and our young dog almost died because they did not get him veterinary care.My husband and I took our three dogs to stay at Break of Dawn for six days at the end of August and beginning of September, 2022. When we picked them up they all had lost weight, the staff did not know their names or who they were, and the two big dogs were covered in pressure sores and cuts.Our youngest dog, pictured below, was so sick he was unrecognizable and almost died. He spent two nights in the emergency vet with aspiration pneumonia. He had a sore so bad on his hip (the shaved are in the picture) that he was limping. When we picked him up he had green and yellow discharge coming from his nose, a temperature of over 104, he was wheezing and could barely breath, and he could barely stand up on his own. The staff NEVER contacted us to tell us our dogs were in bad shape and NEVER got vet care for any of them. The owner has never called us and apologized and she has done the bare minimum to make this right.

Got a puppy a few years ago, and personality wise, he was amazing, but he passed from cancer after just 3 years, and the lack of communication after this traumatic event for me gave me the impression that they only care about their dogs until they have them adopted because $$. I got over my loss as best as I could, and decided to adopt a new puppy from the same breeder (because my pup’s temperament was amazing) and after multiple calls to try and find out when their next litters were coming, i got zero calls back. I’m disappointed and won’t return to this kennel and I recommend you consider others as well.

I got my yellow lab from Anita 5 years ago he was born January 1st I had pick of litter he was the runt one of three yellows the rest were black Anita tried to talk me out of him but his energy was through the roof and he wasn't scared of anything 5 years later he is no different but when you stop he stops his disposition is amazing he's so sweet doesn't have a bad bone in his body he goes whitewater rafting all the time we hiked 40 miles in four days he never gets tired he's totally awesome I never registered him I couldn't neuter him but would never breed him I have had one other dog from Anita and he went 15 years and was a sweetheart to she really knows what she's doing all her dogs are famous for there disposition I can say first hand Anita knows what she's doing

We’ve had our rambunctious puppy trained and kenneled here. It is a beautiful facility with happy animals and compassionate straightforward staff. Nita obviously takes pride in what she does and follows up regularly on the success of the animals she’s worked with.

Outstanding breeder and kennels. We have a wonderful 16 week old Golden Retriever from Break of Dawn. The knowledge shared by Nita and the care she takes with her puppies is amazing. We have borded our other GRs here and left them for daily "play dates" with absolutely no problems. They also trained one of our dogs with great results.

Our dog always comes home happy and exhausted from running around the whole time. Staff are very friendly and flexible if your travel plans change. I recommend Break of Dawn to all dog owners I know!

We have been taking our 2 Welsh Terriers here for over 10 years and it has been wonderful! The dogs love it and Nita and her staff are great. We have had times over the years when we have had special care requests for the dogs (giving them medication, etc.) and it has never been any problem or issue. When we drop them off, they seem happy to go and they have always been just fine when we picked them up. I highly recommend Break of Dawn Kennel. Its a great place!

We have been boarding our dogs here for almost 15 years! We had one set of dogs, a Lab and a Dalmatian, when we moved here. Then we had a second set, another Lab and a Dalmatian. Sadly, we lost the second Lab, and now have just our special Dalmatian, who is also getting on in years. Dalmatians are guard dogs and can be challenging, but it is clear that they love him and treat him well. He loves to visit -- gets so excited when we drive in to let him off. They have always accommodated the special needs of our dogs as they got older or had health problems. I recommend them without reservation What a special place - really more of a farm for dogs than a kennel.

I bought a puppy from Break of Dawn some 20+ years ago. He lived 13 years! A very long life for a large large Labrador. He was the best dog ever in terms of personality and health. Now has come time for another family member and I'm back to Break of Dawn. I have trust in them which is very important as I want to make sure my new puppy is healthy. I have confidence the entire process of breeding is of high standard given my previous puppies history. This is also a critical factor when choosing a breeder.

Highly recommended. We bought our dog at BDK and she has grown into a beautiful, healthy and super nice personality chocolate lab. We have left her several times at BDK for training and boarding. The team is caring and friendly. For our dog boarding is a treat (kind of a summer camp, I guess).

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET HERE!!! I happened to arrive to pick up my Westie earlier than expected and walked up to the kennel area to find the owner screaming at the barking dogs to shut the hell up and while squirting down the poop from the kennel area with a hose she was squirting the dogs. This has been a few years ago. When she discovered that I was there she became angry and told me I was too early to pick my dog up. She was caught!!! My dog was down in a different section so she hopped in the van to go get her. She came flying back up the road with my dog in the back of the van in a little kennel but she was swerving and trying to scare the dog on the ride back up. And it worked. My baby was shaking and petrified!!! I believe the owner did that because she was mad that I saw her mistreating the other dogs! Then when I got her from the back of the van, the owner changed her voice tone completely, we gave her a bath, doesn't she smell all nice .... It was horrible. i didn't say a word, I just NEVER will take my dog to that place again!!!! If you love your pet, you won't take them there.

Our dogs always come home the way we drop them off.... Unharmed and healthy. Its also huge farm, that has room for the dogs to roam. Also they offer grooming options for them which is giving before pickup.

This kennel from which my Labrador came from 2 years ago, is a travesty! I left my pup there for a week during my vacation. I picked him up to find scarring on his face, ears, and throat. I called to speak with the owner Anita to get the story of why and what happened. Her answers where "he used his head constantly to push on the kennel door to get out and play", and that "he scratched a lot around his collar". My lab uses his NOSE to open doors not his head, ears, and around his eyes. Nor has he ever scratched his neck around his collar at home till he had scabs (much less scabs in the form of bite marks). Without going on a rant I HIGHLY DISCOURAGE YOU from using any of this kennels services

This place is a doggie heaven. I didn't even want to leave. I could have stayed and played on the farm as well. My dogs slept tge whole day when I picked them up. My weim has anxiety and he showed no symptoms at this place. FINALLY!

Went for a visit thinking about taking my two dogs going in October they seem like a really nice people and they asked a lot of questions about how you take care of your dog and what they like and what they don't like so it's not like you drop them off and then I can be well taken care of they seem to really care about your animals
