Even though I my car did not pass inspection, I left feeling okay about it. The man who did my inspection was very personable, polite, and efficient, and I enjoyed looking around the inside wait area. I didn’t get my tires done here because I wasn’t 100% down with the pricing, but that was for sure not their fault because the quality of service would’ve been 110% worth it, and it would’ve been if I had more than college student funds.

Amazing service. The check engine light on my old pickup came on, and it was running extremely rough. Bobby's fixed the O2 sensors that were bad and replaced the distributor in about 2 days, and I did not have an appointment. Then there was a problem with the repair, and Bobby drove to my home, 45 minutes away from his shop, and fixed the issue. I have never had that happen. He also said that if he was not able to fix it on-site, they would call and pay for a tow truck to take it back to the shop and make it right. Amazing!

Drove down from Ky to visit in-laws for the holiday weekend. Unfortunately had a rear caliper go bad during the trip down. By recommending Bobby’s we dropped of the vehicle for inspection. Chris promptly call back to give assessment and recommended the repairs. Continued to give updates and recommendations and had vehicle repaired in two days. Upon arrival of picking up vehicle even showed me the worn parts that was replaced. Bobby had also drove vehicle for approval of the repair. Would highly recommend these guys. I can't say enough wonderful things about this shop. I moved to Gloucester about a year and a half ago, and looked at several shops before finding Bobby's because I did not want to keep driving back to Richmond to get my car serviced. Other shops seemed way overpriced and not really friendly. Bobby's staff is HONEST, affordable, friendly and do a fantastic job. I have used them from inspections to oil changes to tire replacements to brake and light repairs. I feel like they are family. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

On the fence with this place. I actually would say more like 3 .75 stars. The owner seems honest & I like that he support officers. I just don't understand why when I asked for an estimate I was given total cost of parts and total cost of labor with no details. I've always gotten a detail list of parts and labor when I've taken my car for repairs. I'm very picky & when it comes to parting with my $ I like to know the details. Furthermore, though I do have some $ saved for car repairs, I could use some help since I live solely on veterans disability. I submited the estimate to an organization that helps veterans and they told me they also need details. Being that said, he was recommended and people are satisfied with the service. Also, the cost of the repairs is within the cost to repair what's is wrong with the vehicle. Thus I don't know why I was given an estimate with a general outline. I would recommend them but as mentioned, you won't get a detailed estimate. At least I did not.

Honest, Top notch mechanics, they always charge a fair price (they have never hit me with over-charges after giving an estimate).I have recommended Bobby to multiple friends and family and never regretted it. Would give 10 stars. Wish our politicians were as competent and trustworthy as Bobby.

Top notch service. Went out of their way to fix my flat tire in a business parking lot next door in the rain at closing time. Jimmy caried all the necessary tools and went above and beyond and made sure it was done right and treated me like I was a long time customer even though it was my first time there. Helped turn what I thought was going to be a really bad situation into a quick top notch repair. Great place and great people.

I've been using Bobby's for years and wouldn't go anywhere else if I had a choice. Sadly, we are moving to another state, but I highly recommend anyone to take their car here for any issue. They are always reliable, honest, affordable, and exceptional with customer service. Bobby took the time out of his busy schedule to check on a few concerns for me and gave me an honest answer. If you're looking for a great automechanic who's friendly and reliable look no further! Also, they have a shop dog named Jasper and he is an adorbale lobby attendant. Really, I highly recommend this place.

We were on the way home from vacation and had some tire problems with our van. We stopped at Bobby’s and they were so helpful! They have wonderful customer service. They even had coloring books to entertain our kids while we waited. We would highly recommend them to anyone who live in the area or is traveling through.

Had a GREAT first experience at Bobby's when I found out the shop I normally go to doesn't have a current inspection license. My husband's ancient (1988) Chevy Silverado truck needed inspection this month, so I asked around, and friends in Gloucester recommended Bobby's. I dropped the truck off on Wednesday and told them to keep it as long as they liked -- I was in no hurry -- and they called Thursday morning to say it was in good shape and passed inspection. Super nice, efficient people ... and Jasper the shop dog is a GOOD BOY. :-)

Every time I have come here my experience has been extremely great. Either showing my what exactly the issue was or replacing a light bulb for free during an inspection. I never feel like I'm being ripped off in any way compared to other places and just get treated right.Also shop doggo, 10/10.

Best service. Super friendly. Went in EARLY for an inspection, only had to wait about 20-30 and I was on my way. They do not accept debit for anything under $20 but let me run to get money from an atm no problem.I will definitely bring back my car for any work I may need done in the future.

Great service. Went in for my inspection. Arrived early, 4 cars ahead, only waited about 30 min. They dont accept card or check for anything less than $20, my inspection was $16 .....told me to just run to an atm and bring it back. Awesome!Also, the dog on premises is such a lover. ❤

Called to ask about getting tires and breaks done so they said to bring it in. I dropped my car off at 8:20am. Left a phone number and verified with the Lady to do tires and breaks. So 5 hours goes by no call... it is now almost 3:30pm and they haven’t even touched it. They “checked” the tires and breaks but didn’t do any service on them. Why wouldn’t they call? Obviously if my car sat there all day and they had a question then freaking ask! I drive over 100 miles a day for work and this was the only day I could get it there. They said my car would be ready tomorrow now and I’m not doing it. They just lost business. Going to pick up my car and find someone else.

Took my car with a vacuum leak in and they kept it for 10 days and could not find it and charged me 80 dollars. Took it to a real mechanic who used a smoke machine not soapy water from a spray bottle and he found it in about 15 mins. A pcv hose right on the intake! They seemed nice but do not appear motivated to actually help the customer. There are much better shops around.

Took my van there for what I thought would only be brake pads. Was told I needed front brake pads, rotors and brake lines. Was told the back was okay. The front cost me $700. I had to take it back about a month later because there was a leak in the brake line they installed. I was then told I would need brake pads and rotors on the back before I could get it inspected. REALLY ... a month later. That was 2 yrs ago. I have had it inspected twice since then at two different places and still haven't needed brake pads or rotars on the back. Go figure. I will NEVER go there again.

If you care about your car, and do not like being scammed, go to Bobby's!!! I am a mechanic, so I do not take my car or truck anywhere unless it is something I do not have the facilitys for, and as a mechanic I only trust bobbys because his repitation is strong as one who does it right. I have had experiences with other local shops trying to scam me (and what type of mechanic would try to scam another mechanic!?!?!), and techs that did not seem to know what they were talking about at all. However, Bobby has got a great thing going on, he runs a tight, clean shop, with very knowlegable techs who will do what is necessary to treat you, your wallet, and your vehicle right!!

We drove the car to the shop for a repair, it was having a bit of hesitation when switching the gears. We drove the car there and when we went to pick it up it would no longer start. Bobby’s Auto killed my family’s car and left us with a dead car and was not willing to help with the issues their mechanics caused. Go somewhere where the mechanics know what they are doing.

Very quick and great service! Easy to book appointments thru phone or web. Staff are nice and the waiting area is clean and comfy.
