Great store for JMU merchandise, and the pricing is very reasonable. We had plenty to clothing and other items to choose from. We walked out with a bag full of good stuff! When we discovered that two of the items we bought didn’t fit well, they made exchanging/returning very easy. We had great customer service while we shopped (Miles) and Jeff gave us great customer and assistance with our exchanges. Will definitely be visiting again when we are back in the area!

I have been going to the University Outpost since summer 2016 right before my freshman year at JMU. Now that I am an alumni (c/o 2020), I make sure to visit it every time I am in Harrisonburg. The ownership is extremely helpful and nice!The Outpost is alumni-owned and you can tell that they really take a lot of care into what they sell at the store. See you all soon and GO DUKES!

This place is great! Huge selection of non-traditional JMU apparel, creative themed t-shirts and very courteous staff. Convenient location and great hours. I travel up and down I-81 regularly, making sure I stop at the store to see their ever-changing inventory of JMU gear and hopefully get my Game Day buttons.

The University Outpost is an off campus bookstore for James Madison University. In addition to textbooks, the store carries a large selection of appear, accessories, and everything JMU. The prices are competitive and the alumni owned and operated store is staffed with excellent students.

Decent prices with a lot of different choices in JMU memorabilia. Staff is friendly and happy to help. They have been open when the JMU bookstore was not, certainly appreciate that.
