This is a store I shop at most frequently that has great prices & a very convenient location closest to my house. They normally have the best prices I can find. If they could get a few more options of seafood it would be great but otherwise this store is really good!

Edit: I am changing my review from a three star to a one star. The last time I went into the store I was with two others. One of them was trying to purchase alcohol. Once we began to check out the manager/worker stated that all of us need to show our ID's. One of us did not have our wallet. Two of us showed our ID's and were/are over the legal age (The third was also of legal age). He stated he could not sell to us because we were all over there in the alcohol section buying it together. This is far from the truth and shows he was making it up because we were all in different parts of the store and only one person was purchasing alcohol. He was very rude about it and we had to ask for our ID's back. For whatever reason it seemed like he was being power hungry. This is not the law and if I was with my parents ID's would not have been asked for. The law states a couple different reasons why you would card everyone.1. if they are exchanging money in line. (Second hand sale)2. If more than one person touches the alcohol.Neither of which happened. I understand the store has it's policies but the way it was handled was not right and we did not show any signs of either. We went right down the road at Walmart and purchased the alcohol there. We were asked for one ID and the cashier entered the DOB in the system. It only asks for one DOB for a reason. Because that is all that is needed.Food Lion has lost a sale and now a customer. I will never go back to this store. Every time I go in there like I said below, someone always has an attitude or lacks customer service.It is a good store but lacks in customer service. I have had three separate encounters with cashiers where they just seem like they are having a bad day and do not want to give you any time of day and just give off a bad vibe. Additionally this location really would be better with self checkouts because there are a lot of times where the lines are long and they have very few people working the registers.

I had a great experience today! I went in to grab the coke products that were on sale and found so much more! The Christmas candy was reduced by 75% not that I needed it but I now have some cheap goodies.

I love Food Lion! Floors are always clean and shiney and the employees (Carol Kaiser, Cynthia and Abby) are always courteous and helpful! Good locations too. (High St. - Hwy. 33 by Port Rd. Exit and Hwy. 33 at Harmony Square) They have Good prices, are well stocked and have asavings card!

9/2/22 6:50pm Lane 5. Lane 5 appeared very clearly to be open. I have 8 items. Girl is checking a young guy out and tells me her lane is “closed”, I exited to find another lane, but paused as another young guy came directly behind me as I was exiting and he asked me if I changed my mind and I said “no, she says her lane is closed.” He proceeded around me and to the register and she rang him up. I stood there in disbelief. I asked the cashier to help me understand what “this lane is closed” means. She said he was an off-duty co-worker. I’m like “and????” ROOOOOOOOOD. Rude!

I always have a great experience at this store, and have never had somebody be rude or unprofessional towards me. However tonight when I took an item in to return the girl working at the customer service desk did not even acknowledge me and she seemed like she was in a bad mood, or having a bad night or something. She acted like she did not want to do the refund and then when I asked her about the double refund guarantee and her supervisor told her yes to refund the item again she shoved the dollar bills at me and did not say anything at all. I did talk to management immediately afterwards and she apologized for the employee's behavior and said that she would take care of it.

The new layout makes this store look bigger and more open. They added an extensive selection of wines, which is kind of different. I can always find some pretty decent deals and the service is usually quick. I'd rather go to Food Lion than Walmart.

My family and I needed to stop at Food Lion to get a few last minute things for our camping adventure here in the blue ridge mountains. Keep in mind I’ve been to a handful of Food Lion grocery stores in the past few years... Y’all, this place is the one of the most depressing places I’ve ever shopped... the lighting is horrible, like something out of a creepy horror movie. The staff is miserable. And it’s got a odd odor as well. I feel like I need antidepressants after this little stop in our adventure. Would HIGHLY recommend going elsewhere. The only reason I am giving it two stars is because the bathroom was clean and had soap... 🤷🏼‍♀️

Literally had a manager run out into the parking lot today to flag me down so I could get a $1.13 refund on a balsamic vinegar without a scan code that had been rung up at the wrong price.Instant love for this store and their employees' genuine customer care.

I don't want to throw a lot of names around, but I might as well be honest and to the point, at food Lion you don't have to ring up and bag your own groceries, you don't have to bag up your groceries and put them in the car, if you need help they always help you with a smile and if you can't find something they will walk all the way to the aisle and bring you right to the product! It has a personal touch almost like the old mom and pop stores, you're not going to find anything like that at these big chain stores like Walmart that only wants you to come in so that they can make their money and get you out as quick as possible and could care less whether you found what you wanted, at food Lion when I was going through the line the lady asked me if I found everything I needed! I've never had that happen at walmart! And Walmart doesn't have an MVP card, you wouldn't believe how much money that little card can save you until you go get a car full and add it all up! I frequented the bathroom and I had to wait a little bit because the lady was cleaning it, but don't think I was going to complain because I knew I was going into a clean restroom! all I can say is just keep doing what you're doing cuz everything was fantastic and I saved a bunch of money!

I used to be the the Center Store Manager (Grocery Manager) at this location (from March 2018- September 2019) and it honestly has a special place in my heart!! It always will no matter where I’m located!!

Over priced, even with the MVP card and hard to find certain items that are easily and readily available @walmart, convenient for quick shop whenever you're out of something. Staff/cashier's not attentive OR TOO friendly with the exception of two people.

I had a very good and pleasant experience shopping this morning I got everything I needed to get for my family with only one complaint. Early in the morning food Lion does not ever have the bread I need. But overall I had a blessed time in the store and I also want to say that the employees I ask for help were very friendly and tried to accommodate me . Thank you for your kindness

Not a super grocery store but it has a good selection. Bakery section is rather limited when it comes to fresh baked rolls and stuff; most breads are usually already in plastic bags which does not appeal to me when I'm looking for some crusty bread. Fruit is also limited by season unlike other nearby stores like Walmart which carry things like tangerines all year. Friendly staff and not busy if you go there early in the day

Shout out to Tiffany for providing outstanding customer services. Tiffany went way above any way beyond the normal scope of customer service. I run a business myself and we ran out of thermal paper in our printers and I could not find any all over town. Staples was out. I went to customer service at Walmart and offered to buy a roll or borrow one until I could get some in and the manager on duty could not approve helping me out. But when I explained my plight to Tiffany she was so understanding! She offered me 2 rolls to get us through and was very happy to do it. This is a great example if how a business-to-business relationship works!! I have been a loyal Food Lion customer for over 15 years and employees like Tiffany are the reason why. Thank you!
