Great simple grocery store. Things are easy to find and with only enough options so that you do not get decision paralysis. There are no self-checkouts so I find that it is the quickest grocery store to get in and out of. There are normally enough cashiers during busy hours. No annoying weight machines, card readers, or receipt checkers. The generic brand of everything is always really cheap and reliable.

Very friendly and helpful staff that are easy to find if one is looking for help. Multiple cashiers make for a short check out time, very nice. Ample choice of products and brand name groceries. Will definitely be back to shop again.

A Kroger contemporary, with prices all seemingly being elevated just a hair across the board. A decent selection and friendly staff, though.

I like it because there are always checkout lines open, I am disabled and cannot do all the lifting myself to go through a self-checkout. There are times I find fantastic deals there! But there are times that they are more expensive than Walmart, and I didn't think there was any place that could be as bad as Walmart!

The Port Republic Food Lion was very clean, organized, and well stocked. We purchased some hot, ready to eat Chicken Tenders, and a chicken sandwich. Both were good and the cashier and also friendly.

Bought a few ribeye steaks on sale and was extremely disappointed upon opening a pack. Steaks were much thinner than they appeared. Who cuts a ribeye less than 1/2” thick? I mean, really. We’re talking ribeyes here.

Not the most fancy or nicest looking Food Lion but definitely clean and well maintained. They don't have a whole lot of customers in the times I have been there which probably explains why they have so few employees present and it is a bit hard to find one sometimes and you have to walk all the way to the front and they are generally busy. Could be better but definitely nothing wrong enough to stop going there.

Friendly staff, good environment, an all around good grocery experience. The only catch is that having a Food Lion card is a must if you want to get the best deals. Nothing amazing about this Food Lion, but I've never had a bad experience. Friendly staff, and a good location, as well!

First time going there, I’m from out of town and I was kind of taken aback of the strict uniform dress code? I ain’t never seen nothing like that anywhere else where I’m from 😅 I feel sorry for the employees. Anyways, was clean and nice. 7/10 would probably go again if I’m in town.

So apparently you have to ask for a receipt when you purchase something- even if it is something Important like a Money Order from here. The manager was the cashier for me and I had to literally ask for my receipt to my money order. He had the courage to look scared and confused when I asked as well. Yes, these kinds of stores deserve a 4 star rating.

Been shopping at Food Lion off Port Rd for yrs. I love all the nice people that work there and would love working there part time myself. They always make me feel welcome and are very kind and helpful.

Foodlion on Port Rd, Harrisonburg Virginia has one of the KINDNESS Staff of All the Foodlions here in the Valley. The Deli has Fresh meats and The Store is Always Stacked. JMU Students shop here alot and it's so convenient for me and I am Very Grateful for the Great Selections of Fruits and Veggies too.

Prices are ok. Fruit sales have been good this summer. Deli can use some work. I prefer Martin's but once and a while I stop in Food because it is closer

Really well stocked except for large holes in chip aisle. Yesterday was the Superbowl so not unexpected. Also the paper goods aisle was looking ravaged.

This place is fantastic for the thaw-and-heat crowd, I-need-beer crowd, the I'm-out-of-toilet-paper folks. If you need bare essentials, this is your place. I term this specific location: Food Dog. (--> non-existent assortment of anything beyond ... see above). Better assorted supermarkets in town. (Due to location, I do come here if I have to.) [Sorry, Delhaize Group, you have some fantastic stores around the world, this is not one of them. I suppose the vicinity to a student-occupied apartment complex prohibits investment in this location and upgrade of assortment?)

They have a great staff, but the selection there is pretty horrible. I find that every time I go there I can't find at least one thing on my list. That being said, it is cheap and in a good location, so I don't go anywhere else and can't complain too much
