All the ladies at the Cat Corner were absolutely amazing in assisting my family with finding our fur ever baby. We visited the shelter several times. Everyone was very patient and kind with us and assisted us with finding the perfect fit for us. I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience we had. Kat went above and beyond for us and we are so grateful!

Volunteering at The Cat Corner has consistently been a positive experience. Despite being a nonprofit relying on donations and run by volunteers, this shelter surpasses expectations, ensuring excellent care for its cats. Despite its misleading exterior, it stands out as one of the cleanest shelters I've encountered, with a strong commitment to placing each cat in the best possible home. We adopted a cat from The Cat Corner, the last of his siblings in the shelter to find a forever home. Forming a strong bond with my mom during her volunteering, she decided to bring him home, and he has proven to be a wonderful addition to our family.

I can say sooo many great things about The Cat Corner. I adopted two wonderful and special Orange Loafs from them over a year ago and they have been absolutely the best cats anyone can ask for. The owner, family, and volunteers show so much love and care to all their kitties and it shows in their cats. They do a wonderful job making sure kittens are fostered and trained, up to date on shots, etc. They are very meticulous about who they adopt to and that is an amazing thing. You are literally adopting one of their babies. They make sure whoever is adopting is a wonderful fit and will take care of their fur babies. Truth be told, its been 1.5 years and I still talk with the foster mother/owner and give her updates because to be honest, she was a major part of my kitties life and she deserves the toe bean tax/updates (and truly appreciates them). When you adopt from Cat Corner, you're a part of their family.

I found the director very condescending. First she told me keeping a pet was expensive( she assumed I couldn’t afford it) why? Because I was elderly and black? I waited a long time to see the kittens I asked to see. Also was told I had to adopt a pair and that I needed 2 litter boxes ( not true).I filed a application online January 3rd and was told it hadn’t been reviewed.I’m sorry they didn’t want me to adopt their cats. I’ve had two cats that lived good lives for 10 and 16 years. And now I have a beautiful kitty from the SPCA.

This place was my saving grace. My guy of 16.5 years ago passed away and they were so supportive. They never met him and even sent me a sympathy card. I currently am fostering to adopt two beauties there. The cats are well cared for have a physical and shots before adoption is finalized.

Adopted 2 sister kitties from the cat corner and it was an amazing experience start to finish. They are open to the public on Saturday afternoon normally but were able to accommodate my work schedule if I needed to come a different day/time to spend some more 1:1 time with a cat I was interested in, especially if they were more shy or timid. They also bent over backwards to help me get some meds they needed before I could get them in to see my vet. This is an all-volunteer organization that takes in any cat that comes to their door. And, as I learned first-hand, not every cat is right for every person. But the cat corner does as much as they can to match the right cat with the right person to make it the best possible situation for both kitties and humans and to get every cat in their forever, not temporary, home. Their adoption process reflects that, even if it seems more strict upfront than other shelters

While the building itself is not fancy looking like other shelters, it more than makes up for it by nice volunteers. They let the cats free roam (separated by ages) and it allows you to get a feel for the personality of the cat/kitten you wish to adopt. While their prices are higher than other shelters, it's because they make sure the cats are up to date on their shots. Lovely place all around.

Everyone here needs Jackson Galaxy in their lives, to study up on cats and cat behaviors. At the very least, they have outdated ways of introducing new cats to the shelter, and addressing fighting cats as well.

Website is out of date on adoption policy. Phone recoding gives incorrect hours of operation and so does google. Showed up with two workers here, but the lady with blonde hair and bob wouldn’t allow my daughter and I in. on the door there’s a sign that say complete application online but online it says come in. On the door it says by appointment only but it doesn’t state that online or over their phone recording. The woman wouldn’t let us even come in to talk or see the cats, she stepped outside and pretty much sent us away. Bad business for a shelter that needs help. Won’t be returning or donating anymore.

I have had many great experiences here, I love the environment they provide their cats. I should have written this review sooner, but here we are now.I have adopted 3 cats from them. 2 turned out fine.. the other though. When we met her the first time, she was as sweet as could be. So friendly and so loving. She was eager to play. Of course, cat corner takes their sweet time getting your baby home to you. They wanted time to spay her and give her all vaccines. That’s fine. They did. When we brought her home, she was a completely different cat. She is terrified of people. I would be horrified to know what they truly did to her, all I can imagine is that it was awful. She has been traumatized since, and hides any chance she gets. If only we had brought home the cat we met originally. I no longer have the same respect for cat corner. I am afraid they are not the kind rescue they claim they are. Yet another, Money hungry “rescue”.

The girls from the Cat Corner are amazing! They are very prompt and attentive with their rescues. There was plenty of communication with lots of information. I had a stray mama cat with 6 kittens make a home under my shed. The girls came out and very quickly and seamlessly were able to trap all 6 kittens and the mama! They even allowed my children to say goodbye to the kittens and told us about their website to keep up with the progress of the foster program for the kittens. You girls are wonderful and we are so thankful you are available! Thank you!

I recently adopted my kitten Teddy from Cat Corner, and he is amazing! The adoption process was well worth it. He is healthy, up to date, and neutered, I couldn't ask for better. The staff kept up with communication, heard from them every day and answered all questions. Highly recommend Cat Corner!!

This happened a few months ago but it still upsets me to think about so I decided to write a review. My neighbor takes care of stray cats around his house. A few months back, there were two kittens that were living under his porch along with their stray mother. My sister and I visited the cats everyday and bonded with them, gave them names, etc and decided that we would give them a home. My neighbor had been working with The Cat Corner to make sure the kittens were safe, so we asked him to let them know that there were two sisters interested in giving the kittens a home. We didn’t want to just take them off the street because we were told they needed medical care and we believed the cat rescue was helping make sure they were okay. Along with a note with our names and numbers, we sent a very polite email offering to pay any medical fees that the cats might have needed and again expressed our interest in bringing them home when they were ready.I recognized that even though these were stray cats and I could have just picked them up whenever I wanted, that the rescue might have wanted us to still go through adoption process, which we offered to go through in our email. This was a mistake, and also when I learned that rescues like the Cat Corner believe they are superior cat owners and deny loving homes for any less than perfect candidate in their own opinion. One day when we went to visit the kittens, we saw the Cat Corner had picked them up. So we called to follow up with how they were doing. We had to call 5 or 6 times for someone to pick up. When they did, they were incredibly rude and claimed they had no idea what cats we were talking about, any kittens they picked up wouldn’t be ready for adoption in at least 7 weeks and even if they were, they were going to give the cats to “whoever they think bonded the best” with them. This infuriated me and made me feel like these kittens were stolen from us. They knew that they were not going to give us a chance with the kittens, but decided not to say anything to my neighbor (who had given them a note on our behalf) until they got them in their possession. I read further that the adoption age minimum is 25 so we wouldn’t even be considered. My boyfriend and I are 23, with college degrees and own our own home. A 25 age requirement has no merit.Rescues like these taught me to always look at shelters like the SPCA, who will not deny loving families for silly reasons. I’m sure there are some wonderful volunteers here, so I can only speak from my experience with Kathy, who seemed to be a higher up.I truly hope Waffle and Randy end up in a good home.

Extremely clean. The cats and kittens are extremely well cared for. The smell is pretty decent for a cat shelter; the scent of litter boxes is there, but won't knock you over, lol. The kittens and older cats are kept in separate areas so that the younger ones can properly socialize with kitties their own age, and they are very playful! The older ones have an enclosed porch they can wander to with fresh air. All the cats are impeccably clean, including their nails, and all are gentle with their claws and teeth. You can drop in and play with them from 10-1:30, Tuesday-Saturday. Donate some towels or cleaning supplies if you're feeling generous.

I lost my cat 2 months ago. Just went to see if he was placed for adoption there. Just wanted to make sure I was checking everywhere for my cat. The Lady that talked to me when I walked in I tried to tell her why I was there. Before she even let me in she told me that they don't have my cat and if they did I'd have to go through an adoption process anyways. Which would have been fine. If they had him I'd do whatever it takes to get him back. I just thought it was extremely rude the way I was talked to when I came in. I'm already upset that my fur baby is missing and that didn't help that I was already upset and searching for him.The other two ladies I spoke to were wonderful though. They gave me names of other shelters and other resources and were very understanding of my situation. I really appreciated the kind words otherwise I would have given this a zero star. Also I will say the people who work there were doing a great job and the kitties seemed happy and well taken care of.

We adopted Elijah from The Cat Corner a little over a year ago. The experience was slightly time consuming, filling out the paper work and having a home visit, but it was well worth it because he is one of the most loving cats on the planet. I appreciate all the hard work and dedication The Cat Corner goes through to make sure the cats go to good forever homes. I would recommend The Cat Corner to anyone looking to adopt or looking to donate their time or financially, they are a deserving organization.

Sad that some people feel they need to say untrue things about this place. Yes the adoption process is thorough but that’s because they truly love each and every cat or kitten that comes in that door. This organization is ran by volunteers exclusively. That means they are all there because they care and are passionate about rescuing the cats. They’re not just sitting around collecting a paycheck. They want to make sure that who ever adopts a cat from them is well suited to take care of it and that the personalities match. This is hands down 100% the best cat rescue I have ever been to.

We loved our experience adopting our senior kitty from The Cat Corner. When we were ready to adopt again we knew exactly were we wanted to go. Our kitties were well taken care of and fully vaccinated when we adopted them. We appreciate all the hard work these volunteers put into making our babies healthy and happy for adoption!

I have adopted 3 cats from the cat corner. It's a wonderful place to adopt a cat from! They are very thorough in researching potential adopters and will not just give a cat out to anybody. We had to demonstrate that we can take care of the cats, have a safe home, have a positive history with our veterinarian, have a positive history with past pets, have good references, and are allowed to have cats by our lease or own our home. The cats are so much safer with a rescue who really cares about who they adopt to.The cats are also very well adjusted and great companion animals. They are fostered in homes and socialized with other cats and people. We were able to meet the cats and find one with a personality that went well with our family in a relaxed environment rather than gamble on a terrified cat crammed in a cage at the spca.

Great place to adopt a cat! They're very thorough with their adoption process and do their best to put each kitty in a home where it's the best fit for the cat AND the humans, not just with whoever puts in an application first. For an all-volunteer run organization, they sure do a lot for the local kitty community!

What's not to love? We've adopted 3 great kitties here and love having them as part of our family. Would totally volunteer if we lived closer. Make them your favorite charity on Amazon Smile!

Visited a pet for weeks developed a bond but refused me because I go home to visit family one weekend out of the month. Apparently their views on good homes are obstructed by whether or not you will be at home 24/7 as if there are not boarding places that are not available for use. Waited for two weeks had to call them for updates. This place just potentially lost a good home for a cat that would have been loved; but they want to find great homes for their cats so bad.

I really wanted to like this place, but no one ever answered my emails or phone about adopting…and when I went to the place it had a sign basically to call before???

Wanted to adopt a kitten we saw on their website, we filled out the adoption form thoroughly then emailed to set up an appointment to meet with the cat. A week passes without a word, finally we get an email asking us to clarify a few things we'd answered (the email was quite unprofessional, riddled with grammatical errors and a rough tone), specifically about what we meant when we wrote the kitten would have "limited outdoor access", which we had already clarified when filling out the form btw, but whatever - we'd let him out with a leash, but he wouldn't be able to roam free. I answered within 30 minutes of receiving the email, no response at all, it's been over two weeks since that response now. It's extremely unprofessional to not answer someone who's inquiring about adoption, we had a very specific time frame when we wanted to adopt a kitten as we'd have time off work to be able to introduce the new cat to our home in a great manner, now it's too late and we won't be able to get another cat any time soon. I'm extremely upset about this as we felt we wanted to wait for this specific kitten and wouldn't feel ok about adopting another one and then maybe hearing back about the first one. We were trying to give this kitten a good home, but apparently these people rather have the kittens in their shelter or foster family it seems like.

I applied to adopt a cat, but wasn't really sure which of their available cats my roommates and I wanted yet. My application cleared and Vikki was very helpful in our e-mail correspondence. We ultimately decided to open our home to Monchichi and everything went smoothly. The cats at the shelter are well cared for by a devoted staff of volunteers and it shows. Other reviews may claim their process is too harsh on potential adopters, but everything is geared towards making sure that these cats find people who will truly care for them and not return them over a simple misunderstanding. I deeply respect their ethics and I am very grateful for their help in introducing us to our latest member of the family!

Amazing rescue!!! They have the best intent for every single one of their rescues; while they make take longer to approve an adoption, they care for each and every cat in their care. I've adopted three kitties from them and highly recommend!

I think that Cat Corner does an awesome job finding the right homes for cats and kittens! Their job is to ensure the babies are going to their forever homes, not end up back in a shelter or on the street somewhere. If they deny an application, there are circumstances that are precluding someone from getting a cat or kitten.

My live-in girlfriend lost a cat 6 months ago that she deeply loved. She had him for 20 years, so it took a while for her to feel ready to adopt again. Finally, the week before her birthday, we visited Cat Corner...We were greeted by a friendly volunteer who asked us questions related to our home and the conditions under which we’d be caring for a cat. We have a dog, so it was important to find a cat who would be compatible. She was knowledgeable and seemed to have a great feel for the personalities and needs of the cats at Cat Corner. We were inroduced to 5 cats that were determined to be a good fit and given time to bond with each. My girlfriend and I were quite pleased up to this point. After about 40 minutes of connecting with the reportedly available and compatible cats and kittens, the manager who processes applications arrived. She announced in a curiously loud and controlling manner that 4 of the 5 cats we’d been introduced to were actually NOT available. We had clearly stated that we were only interested in getting one cat, but the manager decided they would only be adoptable in pairs. My girlfriend and I were both a bit irritated, but still decided to apply for the remaining cat, who was sweet and affectionate with my girlfriend and I.As we were applying, the manager made some surprisingly inappropriate remarks in our presence related to the manner in which a young girl was playing with the cats, and how she therefore intended to deny the family’s application. She clearly relishes her position of control over the cats at Cat Corner. She then reviewed our application, told us we were pre-approved, were “99% certain to get her”, and told us to expect a phone call Monday. My girlfriend and I were happy and excited about the prospect of having a new cat in time for her birthday.Monday passed and we didn’t hear anything, so we waited a few days and followed up. We were told they were taking care of a few more things with the application but would hear from them shortly. So, again, we waited... However, when we didn’t hear back and called a second time to follow up, we were informed by the manager that the cat also “probably” needed to be adopted as a pair, but that we’d hear back soon. My girlfriend’s birthday had passed by this point. Yet again, no response... when we called back a 3rd time, we were told to expect a call the next day. The next day passed without a return call. Finally, on the 4th attempt, we were told the cat had been adopted to someone else. We would never recommend Cat Corner to anyone. The volunteers at cat Corner are great. The woman in charge, not so much...

We've adopted 2 kitties from Cat Corner and been very happy with the experience. This is Mewcette (formerly known as Angelina) who we adopted 14 years ago. She just crossed the rainbow bridge at the age of 17. She filled our life with wonderful companionship, cuddles and cuteness.
