If I could give it a 0 I would.. I was so excited when this dollar general opened. Everything is more than 20 minutes away so this was so convenient but this store has gone down hill so quickly.. it is so dirty and poorly managed. The parking lot is full of trash. The lights in the store are always flickering like crazy which is such a safety hazard for people who may have epilepsy or other health conditions. I can barley stand to be in there for more than 10 minutes without starting to get a migraine.There are carts full of inventory that need to be put on the shelves… But yet nothing on the shelves. I understand that in order to get anything on the shelves you need carts of inventory to stock them but I mean these carts never move.. and they multiply each week it feels like. They are not busy enough to not be able to keep product on the shelves if stocked properly. There has been countless amount of times that I have been checking out while the manager is standing behind the counter with the cashier speaking poorly about employees, customers, delivery drivers and just about topics customers should not be listening to. The baskets and buggies are so dirty you don’t even feel comfortable putting food in them. It is so bad that I have told my husband that I’m tempted to ask the manager if she’d like me to organize, clean and restock the store for free. The only employee who is even remotely respectful or that is ever doing anything is the young guy who has been working there for a couple years now. I am so disappointed in how the manager has allowed a brand new store to turn into such a disaster.

I was very excited to see a new DG store in Gum Spring 3 years ago. Convenient location close to home. But it has rapidly declined, dirty, messy and unorganized. Items out of place or on the floor. Stock carts in the middle of aisles, and most of the time only one person at checkout. Clearly management and store owner does not care about good customer experience. Giving this store 1 star rating was stretching it!

This is without question one of the nastiest stores I've ever been in. The place is a total wreck, the merchandise is thrown everywhere with virtually no organization AT ALL. No idea what the employees are doing but it versatility isn't cleaning. If I owned this store I would truly be ashamed of it WOW

Correction. Store has new manager and she claims phones are broken and cant get anyone to fix them she did however let me in at the last second to grab diapers and I'm so greatful store looked much better then last week! Impressive to see change! Keep her shes great! Will update with her info soon.

We were on a 2 hr trip to Charlottesville for our son's Doctors appointments. He threw up on the way. We thought "Hey, there's a Dollar General. We can get everything fixed up!"Got him some water. 👍No saltine crackers so grabbed some pretzels.No kids shirts do looked for some stain remover. Nope! Ended up grabbing a man's size Small t-shirt which made him look like he was wearing a dress.Yes on paper towels and baby wipes, thank goodness!We made do with what they had but was disappointed.Store was clean except for stocking carts on many of the isles. The cashier, looked to be the only one working as she was stocking shelves in between customers, seemed a bit worn out. Not unfriendly just didn't seem to care.

Good store overall, but needed Benadryl for my wife and I arrived before 10 pm, closing time is 10, and the door was locked. I have worked at dollar general before. Those doors should be open until 10 pm.

The have a pretty good selection of products and their prices on some items are good/competive with other stores, but the store is extremely messy and disorganized. Merchandise was strewn around, not in any way well displayed. Also, I find the lighting in the store to be too dim.

Average Dollar Store. Good for small things if you're close by. This location always seems to have racks and boxes in in the lanes like they were in the middle of stocking the shelves and gave up. I do believe there's generally only one employee running the front and doing the stocking day so really can't fault them for that. This location has a Redbox too which is a bonus

Store started out well, but has declined quickly. Lately when I have tried to shop there after work (5:45), the store is closed with a hand-written sign saying closed due to short staff.For three weeks plus the automotive section was nearly empty of stock and in disarray. Inquired on more than one occasion and told the truck was coming. The truck came and the shelves were still empty.Invariably when I pull up there are one or two staff outside smoking, and the inside is understaffed as a result. Not good management, and ownership is to be questioned as well. Why would you let your store close at 5 two days in a row?

My daughter lost something very valuable and she called and asked cashier to go check to see if it was outside and she couldn’t take 5 seconds to go lookDaughter went back and found it and it’s broken and not fixable. Like it only takes 5 seconds to go look and they are rude

.This restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch.They have good breakfast.They are very busy on weekends.It's best to get there early.I like the country fried steak with sausage gravy on top.

This is now my "go to" store for quick purchases when I don't feel like running into town. Just opened this past summer in Gum Spring it's still new and clean. Everybody I've met who works there seems to be helpful.

First off I never leave reviews but Good store, Great location if only we could get them to stay open more than 3 days a week. Can't tell u how many times I've driven to this paticular location to have a sign taped to the door saying "sorry for the inconvenience but blah blah blah!!!! How about calling someone in to cover ?!?!?! So once again having to jump back on 64 to go into town .

Big problems in this store. Boxes sitting everywhere. Looks like a junk yard. They should have some concerns with shop lifting when no one's at the register. We put our merchandise back when check out was too long.

Yea so my friend just texted me that the store cashier basically just laughed in her face the whole time which made her have an attack she already has trouble breathing and she wore a mask gor respect and when i here that she broke down in her car really ticked me off dont let this happen again she could have passed out

Comparable to Food Lion and Walmart combined, just on a much smaller scale. The only negative is often the aisles are blocked by dollies full of product.

Very rude staff and messy store. Always waiting in a long line when there is another staff member standing behind the register area. Things are constently put in different places and then its the customers fault that it is a different price.

I was not even acknowledge when I came to the counter. Both employees in deep conversation. I felt like I was an inconvenience . not very friendly.
