We stayed here December 1-3, 2023 as we were participating in a Missions project nearby.The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the hotel was quiet. There was a restaurant within walking distance.I traveled for business and leisure for over 40 years and been to 47 states and many countries. This hotel ranks in the top based on my priorities of cleanliness, quietness, and well maintained.

I drove and drove and drove, not knowing where the heck I was, and this hotel popped up on Google. Upon arrival, I was a bit skeptical as there is only ONE sign outside with nothing actually ON the building confirming it was a hotel...but it LOOKED like a hotel...so I wandered inside!Glad I did because honestly this was a lovely hotel with wonderful staff. It's below the main drag in a very quiet area with pretty much nothing around, but honestly the bed was very comfortable and the room very clean. Breakfast thankfully until ten and had a lovely assortment of snacks and options with coffee all day long, which was a saver! The young gal at the front desk (with the sexy red mustang) was very helpful and friendly and answered a ton of my questions about the area. No other options in the area for a hotel, but this one was worth it!

The room smelled musty, damp and unclean. The sheets were stained. The towels were dingy and old. There was a red stain on the curtains. The pillows also seemed old and flat. For the location this was the best hotel we could find. The check in was easy and front desk staff were nice and helpful. Definitely not worth $130 a night. I can’t believe this has a 4.3 rating on google.

Exceeded our expectations! We usually stay at Hampton Inns (HI) so I'll compare this stay to last week's trip across the States, staying at Hampton Inns.The room was very clean and smelled good. The decor in our room and breakfast area was not as up-to-date as HI, but I did not expect that. This is an older hotel in a coal mining area. It was the best location outside of Breaks Interstate Park. The lodging inside the park was more expensive and the reviews were not encouraging. The desk chair in our room was better than HI's as I was able to adjust it to the height I wanted. For some reason HI desk chairs' highest setting is always very low.I was surprised that this Comfort Inn's (CI) breakfast was better than HI's. HI is serving heat-and-serve cheese omelettes that are rubbery. This CI served scrambled eggs. They weren't from scratch, but they were definitely better than HI's omelettes. The biscuits were frozen, but came out well after microwaving them. The gravy was very tasty. I enjoyed cereal and yogurt as well. They had the same waffle makers as HI. Both HI and CI had the same buffet, but the eggs were better at CI.The exercise room wasn't as nice as HI's. They have a bike, treadmill, weight machine, towels, & water.Coffee in the reception area is served in the morning at breakfast, but not in the evening. The last HI I stayed at didn't serve coffee in the evening either. I thought that was standard at every HI. We had our evening coffee using the coffee service in the room.The walls of this hotel were very thick and so our room was very quiet. Our room was next to a conference room and a room with a dog, but we couldn't hear sound from either one.Shana at the front desk checked us in and was very helpful. She's travelled a bit and knew sites to see on the next leg of our trip to South Carolina. All of our interactions with the staff during our two-night stay were very positive.

Very nice room, comfortable and clean. I was very impressed with their breakfast and couldn't believe the selection. The room was the perfect size for 2 adults and a 5 year old who takes up as much room as 2 more adults. Over all we were all very pleased, super friendly staff for check in/ check out. Very helpful for breakfast and getting you comfy for the night as well (helped find a cup of milk for my son). Wonderful experience!

Its obviously not a 5 star luxury hotel but the rooms are clean and the breakfast is pretty dang good for what it is. I've stayed at hotels that try to switch it up each day between a rotation of different items for breakfast but here its the same thing every day. But it is still good. Still decent options depending on your breakfast preferences. The room decor isn't the worst but rather depressing, but hey...its a place to lay my head down and rest. Overall it isn't a place I'd say stay away from. If you're in the area and need a place to stay during your travels, this isn't a bad choice.

The views of the mountains are great, the front desk staff is both polite and helpful, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Sure the wall paper around the window is pealing a little and the shower head is a bit low for someone 6'1" like myself but these things are not uncommon in hotels in the $80-100 range. They are in the process of renovation so perhaps by the time you read this and stay here the wallpaper will be renewed and lets face it the shower heads are always to low.The highlight of the stay was either they meticulously maintained breakfast bar which included sausage patties, mini cheese omelets, cubed potatoes with sausage and peppers, biscuits and gravy, along with the expected hotel waffles, cereal and so on. Or the exceptionally friendly Lora who was keeping the coffee flowing, food fresh, and area spotless while engaging the hotels guests as if they were old friends.

The property is in line with the three-star rating. There is an Italian restaurant adjacent to the property. The rooms were mostly clean although some parts of the room have started showing wear. Not really for sure about their cleanup after people with pets. There was still animals hair on the seat and front top of the chair. Not a lot of hair but enough that would show on black pants. Someone had also left the alarm clock armed for a 6:00 a.m. wake up, not cool. As we were in a hurry I did not have a chance to bring it up with management, didn't want anything free just wanted them to know. The complimentary breakfast was enjoyable.

Nice clean rooms, bathrooms and towels were great, I'm always picky about my towels! Staff was excellent. Each and every one that we saw was very friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Every time I have come here has been a pleasure. They have always taken care of me to the utmost respect and Courtesy. I will always travel back to Grande and we will always stay here at this Comfort Inn. I was always loved their breakfast their biscuits and gravy fresh fruit and fresh coffee. Jenny has always been good and understanding she knows what she's doing and she's always helpful thank you see you soon

The fist room they put us in was dirty, the second room that we was put in, the key card didn't work after 3 different cards. Also, not living in the state of Virginia, we don't know the different laws. We was sitting outside just laughing and talking and drinking beer. An office duty police officer that didn't identify himself told us that we were not allowed to drink. We complied and got rid of the alcohol and he still continued being extremely rude. It wasn't until we asked the front desk and asked who he was there as the guy was just there dropping off mulch. As far as the staff and the lady that runs the breakfast room was very helpful and pleasant.

I came to this location for a school interview. The staff was very nice and welcoming. I surprisingly had the same name as one of the front desk ladies and we had a little chat about our names. I didn’t stay too long but the room was very clean. I do think, the carpet seemed pretty old but it’s fine. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. The breakfast was very nice. I’m glad they had Nutella because it’s my favorite thing ever. I do recommend this hotel for anyone in town.

I booked a couple days here through the choice rewards site. I was well aware this was prepay and non refundable. I gave choice a curtesy call saying I would not be able to make my reservation. Not only did they charge me the $220 pre pay but I also got charged another $114 on the date of the booked stay.I’m giving the Grundy Va hotel 5 star rating because Ginny/Jenny (her southern accent was lil thick) did her best to fix the issue to no avail. Shout out to the nice lady in the Grundy hotel & all the others that actually work in them. THANK you ma’am for trying to help.BUT A GREAT BIG F…You!!!! To corporate for their BS policies and for triple charging me for a room I never used.Oct 14/17 guest that called and you tried to help.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and helpful.The disappointment came from finding out at the end of our visit that the we would not receive clean towels, the bed made, or coffee and cups replenished daily. We were told this was due to Covid. This should be made known before, or at least, during check-in. The ladies at the front desk did get us coffee packs to take to our room but they were not sure where they were kept so it took a little bit.

Customer service was great! My only complaints would be that the room was pricey, quiet noisey being so close to the elevator, the room had a musty smell and the carpet was very dirty causing our socks and feet to get black. But to look at it the room was clean, beds/linens clean etc. The carpet is dark blue/navy so you can't tell by looking at it. But overall it was a good stay.

We stayed here this past weekend while we were in town for a family event. The facility was clean and the staff were nice. The breakfast wasn't very good. The eggs watery and the biscuts and gravy were bland and cold. My bigger problem was a situation that took place with the manager and her husband. While socializing with a group of guests in the gazebo area, a truck pulls up and a man and woman start to unload mulch. The woman blurts out something about open container. When she is asked about what she said, her husband starts yelling at everyone to take their beer back to their room or go to jail. Neither of them had identified themselves as having any authority. After being threatened with arrest several a guest asked the man if he was law enforcement and he said he was. At that point, everyone started picking up and heading to their room while apologizing for not knowing the local law about open containers. He responded by continuing to harrass the guests making them pick up garbage off the tables and ground. Yelling at them that they were disrespectful. We were informed later that she was the manager and he was her husband.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is limited but I expected that. EXCEPTIONAL when it comes to how clean this place was. The room was spotless, even in the small spaces where I usually find dust. I was impressed!!

They staff were very curious and helpful with me and having two babies! We were put on the end of a floor that they were many others to avoid and interfering with the stay!Ginny the manager went above and beyond to help us out!!! Lily and Ava loves Grundy Comfort Inn!!!!

This place is probably one of the better ones in this mountain region. It had everything we needed, and served as a great place for our second to last hotel of our vacation. The breakfast was awesome, the staff was nice, the rooms were comfortable, and there are four floors. Plenty for a lot of people. However, the wifi service was a joke. I can't let that fly, now can I? Rank B.

Hotel was good had to change rooms though because first room had a really strong chemical smell. Lady at front desk was nice about it and switch rooms out for us. Beds were nice, slept well. Will stay again and would recommend.

This hotel was really nice the staff was very accommodating. The Manger greeted my wife and i and let us know if we needed anything jus to let her know if all the hotels had employees like this one people's stay would be more pleasant. Breakfast was good and had a lot of selections

I am from the Hurley/Grundy area. This was the first time I have stayed here. What staff I meet was very friendly and professional. The room I stayed in was spacious and very clean. The bed and pillows was comfortable. I will definitely be staying here again and will recommend anyone coming through this area to stay.

My family and I were in town for my Mother's funeral and booked a room here for 4 nights. Everyone was so kind and helpful, especially Ginny at the front desk, and Laura, the morning hostess in the breakfast room. Laura always made sure we had everything we needed. She was always upbeat and a delight to talk with - she was so gracious. The ladies who cleaned our room were very accomodating as we were traveling with two dogs. Each member of staff made a very difficult time much easier for me to deal with. I highly recommend staying here.
