My husband and I had a lovely babymoon here! It's a package we would definitely recommend. Sandra was so kind and accommodating. She helped us find things to do in the area and made sure our whole experience was flawless. She and Jeff did a great job giving me vegetarian options for breakfast. The food was delicious! I had a very relaxing prenatal massage on-site with Lindy. There is so much history in the house and so many cute little areas to sit and relax with a good book. There are train tracks right across from the Inn, and it can be loud but only a couple of trains came through at night. It is about a 40 minute drive to Staunton and 30 minutes to Lexington, which is where a lot of the restaurants and things to do are located. Overall, it was such a nice little get away. It was very cute and there were so many little touches that helped to make our trip feel extra special.Rooms: We stayed in the Allegheny room. It was very nice and spacious. The bed was incredibly comfortable. There was a cute little electric fireplace/heater in the room. This room is at the front of the house, so the trains were a bit louder in here. The communal areas in the rest of the house, were very cute and cozy and well kept. We felt right at home.Food & drinks: Breakfast each morning was very tasty! They gave me a vegetarian alternative for the meat my non-veggie husband was served. Breakfast had two courses, as well as coffee, tea, juice, and pastries. We also enjoyed a night time snack of milk and cookies, which was a nice treat! There is a communal fridge and freezer available which was nice for holding leftovers.

This B & B is a gem!! Sandra and Jeff are amazing hosts. Sandra is so welcoming and made us feel at home. The breakfast is delicious and the rooms had every amenity we could have needed. We chose the romantic getaway package that included the charcuterie board, massages and $50 toward dinner the 2nd night. The charcuterie board was fabulous and the wine paired perfectly. The massage from the massage therapist Angel was one of the best massages I have ever had! We ate at the Tavern at Warms Springs and the dinner was top notch. We highly recommend booking a soak at the Warm Springs that recently opened. Also, drinks at the lobby bar at the Homestead did not disappoint. The bartender Christa was fantastic. This was the perfect getaway for our anniversary. Highly recommend!

I can not stress enough, that if you're reading this trying to decide if this is the place for you, you absolutely need to go ahead and book the stay. I took the wife here for a Babymoon, and her Bday on Jan 24th. Leading up to our 3 day stay, communication between the owners Sandra and Jeff was awesome. Sandra was the one I mainly communicated with and i found her to be very professional, respectful, and willing to go above and beyond if I needed. She inquired about things that a husband should focus on such as a Bday cake etc. Between working two jobs and life itself I was already stressed and trying to make sure this area and the Inn were something that would give her life lasting memories and thanks to Sandra and Jeff, the trip was DEFINITELY something she'll never forget.Once we arrived, we were greeted by Sandra, who was all smiles as she explained our stay, gave us a brief history of the Inn and area, and she was very easy to talk to. The Inn itself appears to be VERY well taken care of structurally and the grounds surrounding it. The living room as soon as you enter is very rustic lookin, big fireplace and a very positive energy within. The dining room has a smaller, man-made fireplace, and very cozy. Sandra makes the breakfasts and is a wonderful cook. The eggs were the fluffiest and all around the food was very flavorful. Try her Lil grapefruit dish if you get a chance. We aren't typical Bed and Breakfast people. Don't plan to be either, UNLESS we will be staying here. There are a very few trains that pass through but you really don't even know they come through. It's located in a valley with mountains surrounding and sits on the bank of a small river or creek. The rooms are well kept and cozy within the Inn itself, but we chose to stay in the Serenity Cabin with the Babymoon package, they have other packages for couples etc. It sits next to the Inn, but far enough away to feel isolated if that's your choice. The cabin itself is on stilts and gives a great view around you, with river Bank right there in the back yard. This was hands down the BEST choice I could have made. We left feeling like we weren't strangers with Sandra and Jeff, and we absolutely look forward to staying here again! They even had a present for our soon to be Lil one! There is no reason to NOT choose the Hummingbird Inn for your peaceful stay away from the norm. There's not a lot of rules but if you're a smoker just remember to be courteous and take your cigarette butts with you when you leave and DO NOT SMOKE in the rooms. Other than not being loud and obnoxious, those are the only rules.Nearby activities: Definitely try the Mill Street Grill about 40 min away, hands down the BEST food, all of it was, but do NOT get a "Maryland Style Crabcake" they put onions and sweet peppers in em.Safety: Very safe property all around.Food & drinks: GREAT BREAKFASTS

The Hummingbird Inn was just a dream come true! Auntie Sandra and Uncle Jeff were truly wonderful and caring hosts. The property was very well maintained, clean, and utterly tranquil. The breakfast was delicious and obviously made with love! My husband and I stayed here for a little getaway and we absolutely loved it. It is homey, cozy, and warm. An experience I’ll never forget! We can’t wait to come back!

We had the most incredible stay at the inn for our elopement. The entire inn is picture perfect! We stayed in Serenity Cabin and enjoyed the peacefulness of the creek and the cabin itself is adorable with so many special touches. Sandra and Jeff are exceptional hosts. They spoil you with the gourmet breakfasts and are so kind. We will definitely be returning. The Hummingbird Inn has a forever special place in our hearts!

We couldn’t have been more happy with our stay at the Hummingbird Inn B&B. The innkeepers Sandra and Jeff were gracious hosts. My name is Quentin and my spouse is Vincent. We have been together over 25 years and when we first met I had a newborn named Hunter when we started our lives together. Ten years later we decided to have another child who is named Jonas. From there it was kids, kids, kids. Our youngest thought it would be nice if we took a trip together without kids (what a thoughtful young man he is today). We decided to visit Goshen after losing our dear friend Lee who was from there. We were somewhat apprehensive about traveling to a mountain area being a gay couple. The innkeepers were more than welcoming and made us feel at ease. As for as the town of Goshen they either were non-judgmental or did not figure it out. LOLWe really enjoyed the morning breakfast with the other guests and especially meeting the Pitmans. We would highly recommend for anyone to stay at this wonderful and relaxing hideaway in the mountains of Virginia. We are planning a return visit in the spring of 2024.Vince and QuentinLouisville, KYNearby activities: A must must see is Goshen pass beautiful countryside with a view of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains with the river rapids below

Since we had never stayed at a B&B before, my husband and I weren't sure what to expect. We were drawn to the woodsy charm of the Hummingbird, and were looking forward to a quiet, relaxing weekend while in town for a wedding. We got all that and more! Sandra and Jeff were warm and welcoming, and had a lot of patience with us as newcomers to B&Bs. The space was cozy and comfortable, and Sandra had great recommendations for where to eat and hikes to take. She was even kind enough to call the wedding venue for the reception time when we misplaced our invitation! Staying here felt like a home away from home (with better breakfasts!). It was a complete joy and we will definitely be back the next time we are in the area!

This place was great! We stayed in the Serenity Cabin. It was beautifully built and comfortable The grounds are lovely with a stream right out the back door of the cabin. Sandra and Jeff were great hosts and the breakfasts were delicious. We recommend this Inn for a romantic getaway in the wilds of West Virginia. Don’t miss the gorgeous Goshen Pass just a short drive away and Wades Grist Mill in operation since 1750.

Start with the owners of the Hummingbird Inn. They make every guest feel very welcome and provide a great setting for rest and relaxation. Sandra and Jeff go out of their way to make sure that guests receive a great deal of information regarding the area and all it has to offer. We enjoyed going to restaurants in Lexington and also the Warm Springs in the area. Also, you can’t top the breakfast they provide at The Hummingbird Inn. I would highly recommend this gem! A+++

This was a surprise getaway for my wife and I as we were celebrating a wedding anniversary! Sandra and Jeff were amazing hosts and made our stay such a wonderful experience. If you need a relaxing getaway I highly recommend going and staying here! We loved the rich history of the inn, the food (farm fresh sausage, eggs, and hash as well as fruit and pistachio biscottis), and the scenic views all around. We traveled to a couple of waterfalls that weren't too far away and then had a great experience travelling in downtown Staunton. The mountains were serenely beautiful.

The hummingbird in was an amazing place to stay at. Without even having to head inside, you can already tell how gorgeous the inn is. Sandra and Jeff made us feel so welcomed, their hospitality is no joke. They were so sweet and all around great people. The room we stayed in was beautiful and most importantly clean. The breakfast was delicious and most of the ingredients were local. I wish we had time to stay longer! Thank you guys so much for making our stay amazing!

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend getaway at the Hummingbird Inn! We did the babymoon package and it was perfect. Sandra thought of and took care of EVERYTHING! It was so nice not having to plan anything. We stayed in the cabin and it was so beautiful and we loved waking up to the sounds of the creek every morning. Breakfast was so delicious!! We loved our stay!

My husband and I were enchanted the moment we arrived. Sandra greeted us and gave us a tour of the house which was as warm and cozy as we could wish for. Funny, I never realized that warm and cozy could also be elegant but the Hummingbird Inn truly is all three. For breakfast we all sat around a large farm style table and enjoyed meeting the other guests there for the weekend. I want to describe how enjoyable the breakfast and coffee were but I can't think of the right adjectives right now. Let's just say they were VERY good.Last, I don't want to forget mentioning that the bedroom made us feel like royalty and the ONLY thing I missed was having a cat or a dog to sleep with (for people with allergies, there wasn't a cat or dog in sight).Sandra and Jeff thank you so very much for our precious and peaceful weekend. We'll be back. The Mooney's(Oops, I think we forgot to sign the guest book)

Beautiful cabin! The name is fitting…. Serenity! This was the first time my husband and I were able to see the snow falling in the mountains. We were there for a long weekend and enjoyed every moment. The quaint cabin had a bubbling brook located behind our deck. The delicious breakfast ours hosts Jeff and Sandra prepared every morning didn’t disappoint. Jeff and Sandra were extremely accommodating. Thank you Jeff for shoveling the snow around our car, and the sidewalk. The main house where other guests stayed, was beautiful as well. We met great people and had meaningful conversations. We can’t wait to return. Thanks Jeff and Sandra.

This place is a gem tucked away in a quaint town in a beautiful area of Virginia. We spent two nights in the cabin after our wedding! It was a perfect, private getaway! The cabin is gorgeous and luxurious in the inside, and the stream in the backyard provides great background ambience. Sandra is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet! We enjoyed meeting up for breakfast, and the food was absolutely delicious and fresh! We would recommend this place ten times over!

What a beautiful place to get away for the weekend! My husband and I enjoyed our visit last spring in 2013. The Hummingbird Inn is beautiful, rich in character and history. The property backs up to a river which is just so peaceful and the grounds are beautiful. There are train tracks in front of the house that seemed to be busier are night when we were there. However, we live near the train tracks at home so this was not a problem for us. The owners are wonderful, polite, friendly, and very helpful when it comes to recommendations for what to do during your stay there. Breakfast was delicious and very filling. Our room was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay immensely! We will definitely being stay again when we visit the Shenandoah Valley.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hummingbird Inn in Goshen VA. We stayed under the babymoon package, a concept that I had never heard of before my mother asked if we are going on a babymoon. Yes, my husband and I are expecting our first child so we figured what the heck, why not get away before the baby arrives. We had no idea what to expect, but I can honestly say this was one of the best trips we had taken in a while. Inn keepers, Sandra and Jeff, were incredibly warm and welcoming. They cooked us homemade breakfast every morning, which we enjoyed with the company of other Inn guests. We were gifted 50$ to a meal of our choice, based on options given with the babymoon package, as well as, a prenatal massage for myself, and a massage for my husband that followed. The masseuse was incredible. We also were gifted two free tickets to take a horse carriage tour through historic Lexington. Super fun tour that lasted about an hour. Sandra prepared chocolate chip cookies for me, the to be mom, and we had the option to receive a bottle of wine/champagne as well. We were also gifted chocolate strawberries upon returning from our discounted dinner, which we had at The Homestead (Jefferson). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as well. What we loved most about the Hummingbird was we felt like we were home, and can't wait to return for another incredible weekend getaway. For anyone looking for warmth, comfort, and a peaceful weekend, the Inn is the place for you. Thank you so much to Sandra and Jeff.

My husband and I came to stay at the Hummingbird Inn for a babymoon. We had a wonderful time! The inn itself is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was delicious and Sandra made sure every aspect of our stay was excellent! This is the perfect relaxing getaway for anyone looking to enjoy beautiful scenery, generous hospitality, and good food. Sandra was also very careful to make sure everything was safe considering the current COVID pandemic which we greatly appreciated!!

First B&B experience was amazing thanks to our gracious hosts! Such a beautiful place chalked full of history! Everything was clean and well thought out. Sandra and Jeff were so generous, friendly, and gave us just the right amount of privacy. My husband and I were touring wedding venues in the area and decided to be adventurous and wait last minute to find a place to stay.. so happy we found this gem. They let us book for only one night (which is hard to find in the area). Not to mention the food was phenomenal and the robes are superb! We will definitely be back. 😊P.S. very supportive of the military and gave us a discount for my husband’s service. 🇺🇸

This was our 7th time back at the Hummingbird in as many years, and there's a reason why we keep coming back. We always have something to celebrate (dating for three months, graduations, engagement, etc.), and we have never found somewhere more relaxing and special than Goshen. The past two times we have stayed in the Serenity Cabin, which is absolutely lovely and especially stress-free given Covid. We purchased the Escape package with all the extras, which I highly recommend to anyone seeking an absolutely stress-free weekend. Upon arrival we had the most gorgeous charcuterie platter for dinner, the next morning breakfast delivered to the cabin, a packed picnic lunch taken to a nearby lavender field Sandra recommended, dinner at a local restaurant, and cookies and milk waiting for us when we arrived back at the cabin. We can't say enough good things about the Hummingbird, and we recommend it for anyone needing a safe, relaxing place to get away for a while!

What a wonderful place. The house is beyond charming, the location is beautiful, the food was great and the attention to detail was outstanding. From the little flashlight on the room keys to the postcard in the room that already had a stamp on it, to the motion activated lights where you park your car, you can tell the owners really care and take a lot of pride in what they do. Sandra had our favorite music playing during breakfast (which was delicious) and left a card in our room since it was our anniversary. The grounds were well kept and the house was extremely well cleaned. I cannot recommend this place enough. Already working on an excuse to go back this winter so I can enjoy a drink by the fire in the den.Rooms: Rooms are spacious, well appointed and very clean. Quite possibly the softest sheets I have ever slept on. The room has a large private bath with vanity and jetted tub.Food & drinks: Breakfast started with coffee and pastry at our leisure. A two course breakfast was served promptly at 9, and it was outstanding. We were so full that we didn't need the to go lunches that we had requested (but we ate them anyway, because you know, vacation).

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Hummingbird Inn as a part of a babymoon, and we had a wonderful experience! Not only was the inn neat and clean, but the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. Sandra and Jeff even made sure the food prepared was gluten free to accommodate my special diet. We enjoyed getting to know the innkeepers and the area. It was a great trip!

We just stayed at the Serenity cabin and had the time of our lives. Sandra and Jeff are consummate hosts. Sandra was so knowledgeable about the local area, and was able to point us to great restaurants, wineries and other local attractions. In fact, while we were visiting over Monday-Wednesday (when a lot of fun attractions are closed), she was able to make a phone call to the local lavender farm (Tantivy Farm) which was closed to see if we could get a private tour. We also scheduled massages through the Hummingbird Inn and had one of the best massages of our life with Angel. If you're looking to just get away from the hubbub and take a minute to hit the reset/refresh button, this is your go-to spot. The grounds were so peaceful and our cabin sat right off a stream which made it the perfect location for a cup of coffee/tea in the morning, or a glass of wine at night. In fact, we left the windows open throughout the night to listen to the babbling brook all night. Don't hesitate to book your stay here. You will not be disappointed. :D

Jason and I enjoyed our stay immensely! This was our first Bed and Breakfast. Patty made sure to welcome us at the door with open arms and a tour of the home. They were extremely helpful in guiding us through what sights to see and the best places to eat-which included the BEST milkshakes the world has to offer! I have a gluten intolerance and Patty made sure that the meals prepared for me were appropriate. Anyone with food allergies know that this makes a trip a lot more enjoyable. We loved our stay at The Hummingbird Inn and look forward to another!

A beautiful place to decompress and recharge. Absolutely charming, lovely and historic house and grounds. National forest and parks all over the place with great hiking and spectacular scenery. The views driving through Goshen pass are to die for! I don't think you could ever get tired of that drive. We spent 4 nights in the cabin which backs right up to a creek with a deck on the back of the cabin overlooking it. So relaxing to sit and watch and listen to the flowing water. We canceled our dinner plans on the last night so we could just sit and relax on the deck with some cheese, meats, wine and a couple of books. Awesome evening!Sandra and Jeff provided great recommendations for dinners and touring. We especially enjoyed Cafe Michel and The Water Wheel. The website for the inn was accurate and informative and had most of the information we bothered our hosts for... Sorry about that! We should have checked the web site first. If you are a train enthusiast there is some added appeal! There are still active tracks across the road where you can occasionally see a train go by. It has been a long time since I had so that was pretty neat. I think there are sometimes long ones that run at night, but I can't swear to that. Both times that I heard one go by, the rhythmic and almost hypnotic rumble put me to sleep before I could really tell. The Inn, the cabin and everything we saw was scrupulously clean and tidy. Great breakfasts of homemade food that will definitely fill you up. Most of what we had was locally sourced, farm to table. Wish I had tried the scones sooner, those were great! The only downside of the Cabin is that we did not spend much time in the main Inn and didn't get to chat with Jeff and Sandra as much as we would have liked to. They were as charming as their Inn, very gracious and hospitable. That incredible back deck overlooking the creek just kept us there!
