I've never left a Google review before, but Rapalee has consistently exceeded my expectations. They're an amazing family business and I'd leave 6 stars if I could. This is our 3rd shoulder mount over the years and Todd treated a smaller deer I got when I was young with the same artistic attention to detail he used on my dad's 14 pointer. For a year, my wife's been dreading finding a spot to hang another deer, but after seeing what Rapalee created, she thought it needed to go front and center, over the mantel. Even non-hunters recognize the gift Todd has for breathing life back into your trophies and that these are museum quality pieces. The last I'll say is that you'll never regret going with Rapalee. It's the best money I've spent. If you're like me, an average hunter, hunting average land, you don't get a trophy every season, and if you think one's good enough to have mounted, it's good enough to take to Rapalee.

I shot my largest whitetail to date, and knew I wanted the memory of the hunt preserved for life, and more so I wanted it done right. Nothing like a great family business that offers world class quality work. We set an appointment and got there a little early and still we were greeted and shown around the showroom. We took in a bear that my daughter killed they gave options for mounting and went over in detail all of the aspects of what will go into making it a work of art. Looking forward to seeing it when it's completed. Patience pays off when it comes to this type of work and we were prepared to have to wait over a year or more to get it done. Will definitely recommend to friends.

I got my first deer mounted back in the late 80's by Todd and it still looks as good as it did when I picked it up. Most recently he mounted an elk that I took in New Mexico and it looks amazing. Their attention to detail and phenomenal skill turns what could have been a great mount into a true piece of art. I'm still amazed how good my first elk mount looks that Rapalee did for me in 1998. I've never seen a flawless mount anywhere after 22 years, but that's why I'll never use anyone else again. I can't wait to see my mule deer on the wall they are doing for me now, they are the best I've seen in all my travels.

I have been using Rapalee taxidermy for at least 20 years. Todd Rapalee is a true artist. His work is so realistic, the animal truly looks alive. I have used other taxidermist before discovering Rapalee Taxidermy, and the mounts look hideous compared to Todd's work. Its actually embarrassing to have them on the wall next to his work. Some of the work Todd has done for me include rugs, shoulder mounts, life size mounts, skulls, etc. I would not even think to use anyone else. You truly get what you pay for in every part of life and Taxidermy is no exception. At least you know his work will look great for years to come! Do your animal the justice it deserves and use Todd Rapalee, you will not regret it!

I was introduced to Rapalee Taxidermy thru my African PH and could not be happier. We never met (yes i was apprehensive) and handled everything through email and phone calls and the end result was magnificent. I have several animals from other shops in my collection and my impala and kudu shoulder mounts from Rapalee far surpass them for looking realistic with the job that they did. The process of getting the mounts from port to shop was also handled by them and all I had to do was send pictures and they handled the rest. It is common knowledge here in and around Goochland county that Rapalee is the best there is as far quality and attention to detail. Just got back my 2nd deer head from rapalee. I have 2 others as well done by someone else. The 2 heads dont even come close to comparison as the work done by rapalee taxidermy. They are one of the best taxidermists on the east coast and are also great people. Would never consider taking a mount anywhere else.
