Ordered anticonvulsant refill on Mon needed by Thurs night, had to call Thurs late afternoon (so much for their text when ready) regarding status for the pick up of Rx, still can not pick it up as your pharmacy stated they are doing a mandated corporate inventory today and it would not be filled until Fri AM. Seriously? Do them overnight...One thing after another with Rite Aid over the past couple years. This is very unfortunate as the store staff is great, but corporate policies/procedures are unacceptable for us to continue as customers. This will be the last Rx my family will fill w/Rite Aid.

The pharmacist, Ike, was extremely helpful and courteous to me. This pharmacy had the one medication that no other pharmacy had in stock. Ike was wonderful and kept me informed about what the doctor had called in and he personally called me to let me know that my prescription was ready for pick up. If Ike had not been working on Christmas Eve, I doubt I would have gotten my medication on time. Thank you Ike for going above and beyond to ensure that I received my medication.

Went here for a COVID vaccination that we already had an appointment for. Thinking we would be in and out in a matter of minutes I tried to squeeze it in at the end of my day. Wrong! I waited an hour for the shot! While I was waiting other folks began to backlog the pharmacy. When I left most of those folks still waiting on the pharmacy for their prescriptions! Plan to be here over an hour for anything dealing with the pharmacy. Take it this way, I won't be back anytime soon.

Update: i came back almost 24 hours later and prescription still not ready!! REALLY???? I can't say that I have ever dealt with such a pharmacy with so little compassion.HORRIBLE Customer Service. We are from out of town. We went in to get a prescription filled from an urgent care. After waiting in line forever, we were asked for date of birth...so I gave it to the man. He couldn't find anything. My husband gave him the papers from the urgent care and he finally realized the DOB was wrong. He treated us like we did something wrong. Just had an attitude like we were stupid because we gave the wrong DOB and he kept saying, you gave wrong DOB. How were we supposed to know the urgent care typed it in wrong???? Then he told us it wasn't ready and it would be atleast 2 hours!!! He told the couple before us 45 mins. Horrible, horrible, horrible experience.

Worst flu vaccination experience ever! The pharmacist administered it and I have never in my life! Pblack and blue. 3 weeks later my shoulder still hurts, aches all the time . It may Possibly be SIRVA! ! Happens when shots are administered incorrectly. Stay away from this place. Had to give a star to submit it is not because it was deserving of one.

You can never get the pharmacy on the phone anymore, I have waited to write anything since I know they have new people but this is ridiculous and it's been long enough. Make sure you call your doctor's office to beg them to get in contact with this pharmacy for you to check on your medications to see if they're ready since no one here will ever pick up. the website tells you to call them but they don't care or their phone line needs serious work.

ABSOLUTELY FED UP WITH THIS PHARMACY. My client is disabled and mostly depends on me to pick up medications. A medication was recently supposed to be filled (last week) and we have yet to receive a phone call stating that this prescription has been filled. We have attempted to call this store ever since 1230pm today. Finally I had a chance to go by the store and as usual there are a dozen people in line, half of them complaining, as they should about the "service" that they are receiving, and because I only want to ask why a medication has not been filled yet, I go up to the window where there is a separate line for people asking the same thing. I left. This store is getting ridiculous! If you cannot provide DECENT customer service because you are short of staff, stop taking in new customers! Cutting back on hours made things WORSE! Various issues have been going on ever since this pharmacy took over for a private pharmacy, if my client could go to anotherpharmacy, they would, but it is not convenient in case they needed someone beside me to pick up the medications. If you keep this up, you're going to end up with lawsuits because people are going to have to do without their medications. Making complaints directly to the store apparently has not changed anything; if I could report you to corporate, I would, but apparently this is not what they are for.UPDATECalled this morning before wasting a trip to this store, the line was busy. When I arrived at the store a few minutes before 10, the pharmacy was closed because the pharmacist was running late, and they were unsure if it would open. The pharmacist, unless it was an emergency or unavoidable should lose their job/license. An assistant took my client's name/number on her personal phone so that we could get a call back when/if they opened. Before I left the shopping center a van arrived to deliver medication; if the pharmacist assistant cannot legally open up the pharmacy without the pharmacist, what happens to the medication that is being delivered? I called another pharmacy and of course they were aware that this pharmacy was closed today, so they would be unable to contact the store to get the information. I asked the new pharmacy about calling back and the employee stated that it may be a problem because this store has not been answering their calls. One of the google reviews I read, someone stated that the pharmacist was not letting the other employees answer the phone, no wonder. The pharmacy did send us an automated message stating that a medication was ready to be picked up, like 5 minutes before the pharmacy goes on their lunch break.

The pharmacy is severely understaffed and has been every since another local pharmacy closed its doors. I am strongly considering going to another pharmacy!! The line often has 10-15 people in line.Update: Tried calling the 800 number that Rite Aid said I should call in response to my review abvove. Unfortunately, I could not get anyone on the phone...nothing but piano playing!! Also tried the website Rite Aid said I should visit. They just wanted me to repeat my information and message. There was also a chat box, but that was also worthless. Going to call my local Rite Aid in a few minutes to see if they can be bothered to answer the phone.....

Had to visit three times in one months time, and each time there is a line to get the meds of over 40mins. Two of those time they didn't have meds ready after have the prescription for over 24hrs. The last time waiting over 50mins after waiting in line to talk to them in 30.Also location is run down, and just gross to walk though. It should be remolded to have a larger Pharmacy if they are unable to provide time services to people, and to clean up how old everything is. Fast food restaurants are cleaner that is.

Pharmacy is terrible! Tried switching from the hayes store hoping this would be better but boy was I wrong. Been trying to call the pharmacy for days and no one answers. My prescription was sent there Friday at 930am and it’s Sunday at 1045 and it’s still not filled. Wife is up there waiting in store to get it filled, completely unacceptable. This is the type of service both rite aids offer here in Gloucester might as well just close them.

I've been trying to call for three days to discuss a prescription refill. No answer. Finally a human answered todayand said the floating pharmacist doesn't allow the phone to be answered. The other RA in town couldn't get my inhaler, FOR BREATHING, for three days. The tech was helpful once I went in person, though I had to travel 30 miles. But this was a multi-day process that didn't need to be so difficult.

Worst pharmacy ive had to deal with in the last 20 years. Consistently lose prescriptions, huge slow lines, never pulls medication until a customer shows up. They only let you refill 3 days before running out of medication and when you walk in completely out of medication they inform you there is a problem filling it and so you run out. Their excuse is that they are under staffed, hire more people at a higher wage or stop accepting new rx customers. Finally fed up I tried to switch to a new pharmacy but I cant because they will not answer their phone for the last five days to release my prescriptions to my new pharmacy..so once again out of medication. Avoid this place at all costs.

Do not use this pharmacy. I promise you that there is absolutely no upside to using them. This pharmacy has to have the most consistently subpar service by far... they never answer the phone. They never have the prescription ready. There's always issues with the pharmacy computer system. It is beyond aggravating and upsetting the service received here. Every single time I am waiting in line there, someone is complaining, pleading, begging or yelling at the staff. Just to have their prescription filled... I have switched pharmacies and all I can say is that I wish I would have done it sooner. Please head this warning..

It seems like their computer system is down all the time, my wife is currently there and has 13 people in front of her, I was in there 1 1/2 hrs after my doctor called in the prescription, waited 45 minutes only to be told it’s not ready, last time this happened I was told I didn’t have to wait in line, just go to the far left window and they will give it to me, WRONG! My wife was told to get in line! Don’t seem to have this problem at the Hayes store, Maybe a good idea to move some help from the Hayes store. Not the fault of the girl working the line by herself, the fault is management!!

They are very comfortable and confident when giving you incorrect information without making sure it is true. For pharmacy services, like I experienced, this is dangerous and unacceptable in every way. I've never seen such incompetence and lack of respect for information that impacts a person's prescription, health and well-being.Among other things, the pharmacy staff told me, "your doctor doesn't even have a license and it's illegal for her to even write prescriptions".. Jaw dropped, I checked and called the office and there were no problems whatsoever with my doctor. They are the one who should be forced to close their doors.

I am severely disappointed every time I have to pick up my or my husband's prescription. This use to be my favorite pharmacy but it has changed a lot. I can never get through on the phone. The wait line is always really long. And several times I have refilled a prescription, gotten a confirmation text that it was ready, went to the store and waited in the very long line just to be told it was not ready. Then have to wait another 10 plus minutes while they fill it.

The store itself needs a refresh; however, the pharmacy and pharmacy staff need an overhaul. There are too many patients and not enough pharmacists or educated techs to assist. During the last few weeks my family and I have had Bronchitis and Pneumonia and needed multiple prescriptions filled. Most prescriptions (no matter how many) take more than 2 hours to fill since the pharmacist is too busy multitasking (why isn't an extra pharmacist available to give injections so the other can fill prescriptions). Once the prescriptions are "ready", they tell you they are out of several and it will be three days before they have it in stock. Why did I wait for two hours for prescriptions they don't have? In addition, should patients be asked to wait three days for an inhaler? The tech didn't even offer to call other pharmacists to see if they had it in stock. Pathetic customer service. When we asked if they would call, they did, but failed to fax the prescription to the other pharmacy. This store has lost my business. I would rather wait in line at Walmart or drive elsewhere. The corporate offices need to understand the product they are selling is medication for many who are horribly sick. Waiting two hours, or three days, is unacceptable. I'm not the only one in the community feeling this way ~ just ask your customers. Unfortunately your bottom line will no longer benefit from me, my family and my outstanding prescription coverage.

Calling this pharmacy is the most annoying thing in the world. They never answer and the call loop jist sends you back to automation and tells me their hours. Super annoying. You would think will all these horrible reviews they would do something... anything to fix pharmacy. Hire someone to answer your phones. Also don't call the number that the owner keeps posting in here apologizing. It doesn't work. They even tried to transfer me to the store. No one answer. Close this place down. I JUST NEED MEDICINE FOR SICK DAUGHTER

They only get a star because it's required. They have become a poor excuse for a pharmacy. I went in, a week ago, to pick up 4 prescriptions, as 4 of us were sick with sinus and ear infections. She implied I would need to return (I assumed she meant the next day), but we finally clarified just to return to pick them up because "there's so many of you it will take a while". I turned around and said yes, and there's 30 people behind me, all of this will take a while. 🤦♀️My scripts are finally ready after going to get dinner, I stand in line for again for 30 minutes, grab the meds and head home. Once home, I start dishing out everyone's meds, only to find they didn't mix the babies amoxicillin. I rushed to my local pharmacy as they were closing and asked for help.Fast forward a few days - I have to get a new prescription called in to replace mine, my husband gets there to pick it up and brings it home. Here we are scratching our heads wondering why it says to take 1 tablet a day for 5 days, yet they only gave me 3 tablets. Really twisted - and don't even bother calling, no one will answer!

Pharmacy is understaffed for the volume of customers they deal with. Instead of staff doing busy work in the back of pharmacy, they should open more registers to reduce time spent waiting in lines. They don’t care about their customers, they’re just looking at the profits.

I’ve only ever had two prescriptions sent there. The first one took one whole week to get filled. The other, the prescription was sent in two days ago and they never ordered the medicine. So I have to wait until next week again. Reevaluate and/or fire and hire new staff. This is getting ridiculous.

This is the most uncaring pharmacy I’ve ever been too! Not one employee is happy to be here! Drive the extra miles to Hayes the pharmacy was friendly and helped right over phone when I got no answers from this one! After I got my prescription I went up front to pay for something else and the Atmosphere was no different.Remember people go to Rite Aid to get meds because their sick, a simple smile could make a day!

Over 10 years, nice store. The shopping center is slowly revamping. For some folks perhaps a drive thru is more convenient. This particular location cannot offer that service. With the the closure of another large private "drug store", pharmacy and notions north of main street this Rite Aid took on a number of those clients, so in-store traffic amid remodeling has increased.

Used to be good. After remodeling it seems customer service is lacking and only has one register open. Just lost 1/2 hour of mylife waiting in line

Ridiculous lines for prescriptions. I’ve stood in line before with two pharmacists working, 3 people working doing something (maybe putting scrips in the bags and hanging them?), and one on the register. Wouldn’t management (whoever that is) know to ask the person stuffing the bags move to a register to clear the line and then go back to one at the register. I have to move my scrip. This has been going on way too long. Someone in Rite Aide Leadership needs to do something.

Once upon a time a man named Perry Horsley managed this store. Back then things were handled quickly and professionally in the pharmacy and store. However it has gone downhill gradually since he retired. Most recently the took over all of Gloucester Pharmacy’s customers. They were already a unorganized mess and that merger took it to the next level. They just don’t have their act together. Most of the pharmacist are terrific and do an amazing job but they lack the support of competent techs. The pharmacists have to stop what they are doing to address all the issues at the counter and on the phones. I surely hope the pharmacist are being treated well by Rite Aid. Hiring a person just to have a warm body behind the counter doesn’t make them an efficient employee. After waiting patiently to see if they got their act together it is now time that I throw in the towel. I’ve been there and picked up my meds only to get home and not have all of them on more than one occasion. Placed requests for refills that didn’t get processed in time and caused me to have to wait till they heard back from the doctors. Knowing when I placed the order it would expire the following day. I assumed 24 hours prior notice was enough. Nope. Caused a four day delay in my refill. Gone back to pick up other medications and found out they had medication there that wasn’t supposed to be filled. Seems I can’t get what I need when I need it and can get what I don’t need without even requesting it. Standing in long lines waiting to pick up meds to be handed a bag and told to go to the front of the store to pay. Then you get there and stand in line again for the retail customers and the other pharmacy customers that were sent to the front. Why even open a window if you can’t ring someone up? Just an effort to shuffle people around? Then when customers get up front and have a question about their prescriptions ….that staff can’t help and when they call the pharmacy no one picks up the phone. I will have to travel to Hayes for my pharmacy needs. But the extra time is no different than me standing in line then having to turn around and go back after getting home because they made another mistake. Sure do miss the way it was when customer service was a priority at this pharmacy.

It's really not their fault... this town just needs another pharmacy, plain and simple. Too many people, and not enough staff. I think even if they were fully staffed all the time, it just wouldn't be enough. Walmart is a huge wait too.

I used to have nothing but good things to say about this place. Now, because they only have floating pharmastists, the service is ridiculous. I have gone over 2 weeks without my medication because they are behind and closing early. I went on a Friday twice and both times they were closed. You already have to wait up to an hour at any given time or day of the week. This is unacceptable. They had a "floating pharmastist" a couple weeks ago that wouldn't allow staff to answer phones. He was also verbally abusive to the staff members. I called corporate and they don't care about their employees. Sad part is I have no other pharmacy to go to, the rest are out of net for the military. Now they have shut the phones off for call in prescriptions and their website as well. This is extremely dangerous if you are in need of medications that keep you alive!

I normally have no problems coming to the store… However someone who comes and gets prescriptions weekly and spend hundreds of dollars a month at this pharmacy I am very disappointed with one of the girls in the pharmacy area, she was playing on her phone when I walked in and I stood there for 3 1/2 minutes, she looked at me a few times, finally walked up did not say hi did not ask how I was, Just said: date of birth and name? She got my prescription didn’t ask if it was even the correct one she was giving me didn’t even ask me if I had questions for the pharmacist Didn’t even tell me what how much my change was because she did something weird on the register and when she handed me my money all she said it’s all there and then didn’t even say goodbye nothing. She shorted me on my change but at that point I wanted to get out of her negative presence. Cashier number : 36984255
