After my uncomfortable shopping experience with Anthony on his phone behind the counter and screaming at what I would only think were his supervisors, he caught an attitude with me when I asked where the women’s uniforms were, I saw him go outside and begin punching a bunch of junk and yelling at his co worker while I was loading my car up. I’m beyond sick of seeing him and his horrible attitude EVERYTIME I go in there

This is a cool find for me, since I'm pretty new to Gloucester. Everything from A-Z! I even found a cookbook from the 1957 and 1 by Emeril Lagasse before his signature "BAM" was coined on his FN show Emeril Live!!! Book were on sale BOGO free!!!

Always get a good amount of clothes there and checkout under 40$. It's amazing and so helpful to budget. I love that they have a variety of stuff. Friendly staff, clean clothes, & items. Always will be a customer.

I visit the store regularly. Last weekend I went in and I saw a treadmill. I asked the clerk is it was in working condition. She told me yes that they had tested it. So I decided to purchase it. When I got it home I unloaded this 150lb treadmill and got it up on the porch. I plugged it in to try it out. To my surprise the belt would not move. It was sliding all over the place. I though it just needed to be adjusted. When I look at the back of the treadmill I noticed the rear roller was missing. The screws to the rear plate were missing and the rear plate was broken on the inside where you could not see it unless you removed it. I immediately went on line to see what it would cost to purchase the parts to replace them. To my surprise it was going to cost almost $200 for the parts and that did not include shipping. I went back to the store and was told if I returned it within 48 hours I could get a credit. How crazy is that? First they lied to me now I have to find a way to get someone to help me get this back to the store. Lesson learned. They do not test what they sell and they have poor customer service. Do not buy anything electronic unless you have them test it right in front of you at the store.

This store is in a fair location, it's a little difficult to get in and out of. Their selection is usually very good.I do not like their pricing model. It tends to be on the high side. I would rather they went with a model similar to "Goodwill's", all pants are one price, all shirts are one price... etc., and colored tag specials.

I am used to thrift stores in Richmond and Hampton ... big and commercialized.The DAV thrift store had the usual items found at a thrift store but the quality seemed higher,the shelves seemed better n organized,and the prices seemed lower. Definitely a place for making visits when the urge hits.

Do not have no dressing rooms, you can not try anything on be for you buy it and 8/10 times they've marked the wrong size and the no return policy isn't fair to those who cant really tell if what they're buying is really going fit poeple .... Even recently we bought two pair of Levi's and the size they wrote in the outside 33 and well they turned out to be 31 which i can't wear however there are some nice employees in the DAV in Gloucester which is where i shop but there needs to be alot of changes in this store.

Not only do they over price everything, you would think that being a military based store that they would give a military discount EVERY day.The manager there is also extremely rude and unhelpful. A very unfavorable character. Thanks a lot DAV for "serving" your community and the military people that you supposedly support.

Since we moved to this area I've been through the store maybe 6 times and never bought so much as a scarf. Whoever prices things acts like it's all brand new. Way too expensive. There's a reason the place is crammed full. Do yourself a favor and go to the Habitat For Humanity store on 17. Shameful for a DAV store.

This is a store where I generally only look at the .99 and 1.99 sections. There are too many high and sometimes "odd" prices in this store. For example, if I know an items is a Dollar Tree item and it's $2-3, I shake my head.You CAN find a great deal here, but you may have to wait for it. Sometimes I never know if I'm going to find anything. There are some reasonable prices, but you have to look through the racks. It will depend on what you are looking for. I can say I agree with all of the previous recommendations.Just like all the DAVs, if there's no price, it goes to the back. I gave up asking a couple years ago for a further discount on the higher price items that say, are occasionally pretty damaged. I just tell the folks and take it to them.The rules are followed very carefully at this store, and I hear AT LEAST ONCE per visit, some "louder than whisper, passive aggressive voice" comment about the prices being outrageous. But I do still see those folks finding SOMETHING to satiate them when I see them at the register.There is a new TJMaxx down the road about 3/4 mile in the Walmart shopping center now, sooooooo... maybe we'll see some of those "odd little HIGH priced items" a little more reasonably priced. At this time, TJ Maxx has more of my attention with lower priced NEW items than this shop.Sure, I could shop this DAV because it partially benefits it's veterans, but most of the time, I'd rather donate cash to the more local groups where I know it won't go through the corporate rigmarole....THE BEST PART OF THIS STORE: The staff is amazing. ALWAYS super nice. NEVER ever had a grumpy person address me EVER. AND they are always helpful to me. So despite the pricing rules... the workers are the main reason I come back. THREE STARS ONLY because of the wonderful staff. Had this store not had a great staff, I would have given it only a HALF a star if I could... The occasional deals are just a bonus...

Their greedy! Prices are way too high for a thrift store! Just because something still has the tags on it doesn't mean that you should charge $15 for it. I mean heck, you could go to any store and get the same stuff new if you were going to do that. Smh. I think that there should be lots of 25 cent 50 cent $1 to Dollar items but there really isn't. I'm always disappointed when I go in the store but unfortunately it's the only one in Gloucester. I just moved here but I haven't found any other thrift stores. there's one of the road but all they sell is like really old-fashioned outdated furniture that they want too much for as well LOL

2021 and you have no back up systems to run credit and debit charges during a power outage???Unacceptable - after already having my purchase rang up and told cash only.I know I should have assumed but really..... to not even allow checks either (MAD)I had to put my whole order back.

Always have a good time shopping at DAV.. Lots of bargains, little bit of everything. Today I bought clothes for toddler grandson and aprons for a friend. Neat, clean.store, staff is friendly and helpful.

Prices are to high! Wal-Mart has clothes for toddlers at lower prices... shorts at the dav 4.98 and up walmart price..4.48....lawn furniture cushions at dav 14.98 used and faded...walmart 14.48 brand new!...i thought it was a "thrift store"....but staff over Prices!

Disabled vet Thrift Shop is an awesome place to shop for used Goods. They have a very wide selection of childrens men's and women's clothes. They also sell furniture, toys and shoes amongst other things. But best of all remember the cause Disabled American Veterans it's well worth it. There also is plenty of parking around the store.

Honeslty the most worst experience ive had was with this dav the staff seems super uptight and anal about there products if a sticker falls off the product your buying they refuse to sell it to you witch is bull! And you cant take your purse through the store they eye dog you the entire time your trying to shop. And prices seem to be jumping to higher prices for a second hand thrift store I havnt gone back for months. I just rather drive an hour to go to the second hand stores in those areas. At least i can feel comfortable shopping. I dont recommend. Your opinion is your opinion but id just rather stay away.

The prices were in my opinion too high. Why would anyone want to pay a dollar for the same coffee cup that the Dollar Tree sales? Clothes for my toddler were also a little more than what I was expecting so I shall continue shopping for those items at Walmart.

Things are priced way too high. No other DAV that I have been in have been that highly priced. This store carries junk never anything worth buying and if you do find something, you can pay the same price for brand new stuff.

This thrift store is WAY over priced, and the working staff follow you around the store as though anyone is a common thief. They also call on the loudspeaker for a "security camera sweep" based on a persons look or attire or color of you get my drift. This store gets their items for free, but instead of pricing an item to sell (mind you the item cost them NOTHING) they will look on EBAY to see what people are selling an item for there then price the item based on that. Not a good store. All sales final, no refunds, and they check your I.D. when using credit or debit cards EACH AND EVERY TIME. Stay away, go to Laurel Shelter and REALLY help your community!

On October 29th I visited this location now I'm at a disabled veterans store,now I'm not a veteran but I am disabled and have to wear oxygen and was asked to leave because I can not wear a mask!! Really?? Discrimination!!Are they so ignorant that they aren't aware of disability laws??Oh yes I am filing a complaint and possibly sue!!Management serverly needs training!!

I was literally blocked from going into the store by an employee with a cart planted at the entrance. She said you're not allowed in here. I asked why, she saud, no mask. My mask was in my hand, I had not put in on yet. I held it up to show her then told her bye and walked away.What about the people who can't wear a mask! It's a hippa violation to refuse entry

Probably the worst DAV thrift store I’ve ever been in. The people are generally pretty rude and act like it’s such an inconvenience every time you just ask them a question. I’ve been to this store location dozens of times hoping that it would some how be better the next time I go in. I will not be going back.

Love the DAV! They have tons of sales today on long sleeves, and it's military Wednesday got a bunch of quality clothes for a very decent price!
