Been a fan of and shopper at the formerly great NC chain of Roses Stores since the 1950's. Shame that so many have vanished. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of this store, the friendly helpful nature of the 4 or 5 employees whom I interacted with, and the quality and pricing of the few items I bought that day. I will return anytime I am in Galax which is an hour from my home.

Very friendly staff, especially the little Asian girl and bald guy working the register! If you really shop there are great deals on quality items! The furniture area was kind of confusing with the way it’s all crammed together! To bad they don’t sell groceries, I’d never go to Walmart!🤪

I love roses they have things you can't find in alot of other discount stores. Although you will have to size up and watch for irregularities in clothing. Very affordable.

I have shopped at Roses for forty years and I appreciate some of the good deals I have got there , but I have to let folks know how I was treated by thier store and manager in Galax Va,About a week ago I bought a mens belt at Roses and was pretty satisfied with it. but today I was in Walmart in Galax and the belt broke and I was very humiliated when my pants fell down. The buckle actually came loose from the belt. I know this sounds funny but it was very humiliating. Roses was just down the street so I left Walmart holding my pants up with one hand and the broken belt in the other. Roses was just down the street so I took the belt there and asked the manager, while still holding my pants up with my hand, if I could exchange the defective belt for another belt. I was floored, when she told me absolutely not - that the belt was broke and the store would just be out the price of the belt. Never mind that Roses had sold me a defective belt which had caused me considerable embarrassment and "I" would be out the price of the belt. There was nothing I could do but leave the store still holding up my pants and make my way home not finishing my business in other stores. I suppose I could have bought another belt for $8 but it just seemed so wrong.How in the world could a well known store like Roses be so inconsiderate and stingy.I know we are talking about a small amount, but evidently it is very significant for the manager at roses. From a legal point of view I do not think the manager has a leg to stand on and maybe Roses is even liable for the humiliation I was caused by the defective belt. I am still fuming.

Chris was amazing, so patient, and helpful! Super awesome helping us get a loan approved for the couch we wanted. Stay over a little bit even to help us out. :) He deserves a raise for sure for his great customer service and work ethic.

I wouldn’t do any financing through them for any furniture. The interest rate is ridiculous. Otherwise, it’s great for lower prices on everything else.

I had the worst experience with Todd in the furniture department! He was extremely rude, I ended up just getting my money back for the couch that I waited on for a month and going elsewhere. If you get furniture here ask for Chris!

Old store in a revamped plaza. You can find some things here and avoid Walmart. It is cleaner than it used to be.
