This store is convenient and if you time it right, good prices can be had, especially on meats. The seafood department is one of the best and the manager of the seafood department should probably be promoted to store manager at this location, based on my interactions with him. He would probably do a better job than whoever is there now. the Two stars are for several reasons. One, the store always seems filthy. A lot of it is probably due to age, but sometimes I feel like employees don't even care. Two, the self-check outs are almost a joke. The register is always telling you to put your groceries in the bagging area (they are), and then holds up progress while it sorts itself out. The register tape is always long enough to write a novel on. If they are losing money, maybe cut the amount of register tape in half. And finally, misleading prices. I saw this today and thought the price sounded good. Then I went back and read "the fine print". The item on sale is not prominently displayed near the sign and I imagine most people would assume the Velveeta is $2.50. Look closer; it's actually $6.89. This store would be so much better if the employees and management paid attention to the little things.

I highly recommend downloading the Giant Food app and doing your grocery shopping online. It’s super easy to reserve same day pick-up.The staff does a great job with picking out fresh produce and meat. I just give them a call when I arrive and they bring it right out to my car.The best part is I don’t have to worry about running into that ex-husband anymore…😜

This store has gone down hill since they began to prioritize loss prevention over the basic function of the store. They're putting "security" guys in bullet proof vests in the produce section. Every retail location deals with loss, but most manage to deal with it without having armed creeps lurking by the bananas. Even banks manage together security without this unwelcoming, hostile environment!

Moved here from California a week ago and Giant has quickly become my favorite grocery store! With the in-store sales and the app coupons, it makes shopping here more worth! I tested out their drive pick-up and the employees were very nice! Everything I need is always here, very well stocked and clean location!

I visited this store recently, and had a creepy experience. I ask where the rest room was, and was told where it was by an employee. When I got to the rest room there was a creepy looking guy in there wearing a black security shirt. He was sort lurking, while scrolling/texting on his phone. If this is really giant security, ITS CREEPY AND WIERD TO HAVE A GUY HANGING IN THE TOILETTE. If not maybe you should hire security to keep creepy guy out of the rest room.

This grocery store is TRASH. So low budget and grimy. They actually have multiple people walking around wearing t-shirts that say security in huge letters- are you kidding me?!? Makes the whole area feel instantly low class just byv walking in. Wish they would get rid of it! Shame on you, Giant. You're a major multi-billion dollar corporation. You have no excuse for being the business that's bringing down the neighborhood.

As long as they have the same incompetent guy at self checkout as they had today, I’ll avoid this place like the plague. Theguy made checkout last about 15 minutes for 20 items and I nearly had a panic attack. Worst grocery experience ever!

It's an okay store. Things tend to be expensive here and the parking lot is a mess. Store layout is more like a drug store. Extensive produce department, half stocked. Good deli counter

A good location of the store well stocked staff very friendly and helpful they do good curbside service bringing items to your car they do help you find what you're looking for if you can't find it I'm very clean very safe area in the parking lot area this store very well lit and security around and some very good deals found here you will be very pleased

I am just being honest about my opinion on this, so i go into the store with my mother who goes to buy some wine, she’s at the register and they ask for her ID and we mistakenly left it at home. And they say she needs it, and every time we go in they never ask for it. So this was a surprise! And (we are not Karen’s🙄) but we called the manager and he said we still needed ID!? I asked wanted to ask him “ if a white lady bought the same thing, you would’ve let her!” We left and my mom felt horrible for not bringing her ID they were mad goofy for that😒 ( I’m not racist or a Karen) and we had finally sold her car and we got approval for the new house we are going to move into, she just wanted to celebrate😕 A.K.A never going back again😒

I went online to get a Giant card and for some reason it wasn't processing. I decided to go to the store to see if I could get it that way. Clay was very helpful and courteous. He was able to provide me with a card with no problem. The store was clean and had everything I needed.

The new store rules have ruined this store. I no longer go there unless I have something small and quick to get. Locking the second door, forcing everyone to park in one area and then using up many parking spaces for pick up and who knows what else. There is usually one checkout open, but now you can only use self checkout for twenty items. I am older and have to lift heavy cases of waters to the self checkout. No checkout gun to use. The list goes on. Giant has issues with theft. Then pay employees to be in the area that has issues. Instead the customers are taking the brunt of Giant's problems. The store is now usually empty, as it should be.

Always very clean and organized. Workers are very polite and helpful. The only thing is, I can't find the sangria that I like. REAL sangria is my favorite, and they don't carry it anymore. So I have to go to HT to get it.

I'm regularly overcharged here, as the prices don't match the advertised amounts. Even meat with an actual price on it rang up incorrectly once. Its tiresome to have to be vigilant in checking every price, and having to argue with the workers.

The have the best looking flower shop, it is so beautiful and full. I should have taken a photo to show but I was in a rush. So if you are in the dmv I would go there to get what you need giant Gainesville store 257.

You need to train your young cashiers better , Joseph today was rude , he was in his phone , not even taking to me , when I ask him if the register was open he ask me if I didn’t see the light I told him not sure because your are in your phone and not talking to me maybe the register is close , he say oh well , that is not how you treat your customers

I love Giant and this one is so big and clean and well-stocked. I ran in here looking for a bottle of champagne for my roommate one time, and I'm clueless when it comes to alcohol, as I don't drink. I asked for help finding the alcohol, and the young man immediately grabbed someone who was so, so helpful. Helped me not only find the champagne but helped me make a selection- looked up each brand and everything. I hope they're both doing well.

Just a quick run for necessities, but enjoyed a clean, well laid out and bright store. A 20 year cashier was very friendly and we enjoyed sharing our fur baby stories. She is a saint and saved and stuck with a chihuahua that might not have survived and been loved for 12 years. Employees are the face of a business, and Giant Food is better for the likes of her! Kudos!

Giant has great produce and lots of easy meal options at the meat counter. The service is always great when I visit and the lines are seldom long. The only reason that they do not get a higher score is the prices. I am very familiar with food costs, and unless the items are on sale, you will typically pay quite a bit more for almost all items as compared to all other grocery stores in the area. This store is not for the bargain shopper!!

Good visit, Raj is very helpful. Prices getting up there do to inflation. A painful issue found everywhere. We basically try to stick with sale items and store brands. Make sure you Keep an eye on expiration dates.

This location is easily accessible and the store's hours are very convenient since they open so early and stay open quite late. Their prices are better than the competition down the road near the Braemar Center and their Seafood and meats are usually pretty good quality. I'm by a lot of the vegetables but only when they're on sale as Sometimes some of the product prices are the liar then I might expect. It's a good size store with a lot of selection and generally very friendly staff. The self-checkout area was a great addition to get you in and out if you only had a few items to buy.

I find their lack of lines open frustrating. They do have a decent amount of self checkout open. There are some things that are priced comparable to other stores but some items are much higher. For example their cereal is significantly higher. Chex cereal is $3.99 a box here and $2.50 a box a most other stores.

My favorite grocery store, all the way back to the store in Midlothian in the 1970's! There may be cheaper grocery stores in this area, but non with the consistent high quality and cleanliness of goods. The only thing I don't like are the self checkouts, but that's a personal opinion.

The store was clean and tidy. The shelves were pretty well stocked but there wasnt staff to be found. Only one checkout open and of course the self check lanes where the staff member looked like she was miserable.

Went today and didn’t have a good experience at self checkout I approached this worker because the self checkout wasn’t scanning my item and even after I put the bar code in it said I needed help from a assistant so I went over to this man and politely asked him if he could help me and he rolled his eyes at me and followed me I could tell he had an attitude and I just didn’t appreciate it because I hadn’t done nothing to him to receive that and after I thanked him for his help he stood behind me and started to lecture me about something to do with self checkout which I felt was unnecessary felt like there was a better way for him to react in the situation
