We were traveling, our fur baby (dog) had an emergency. The entire staff were outstanding!! So super nice, friendly, professional! The doctor said it was probably from the very long traveling trip.It was probably stressing her out.(This was our dog's first trip). After a RX, our dog began feeling much better!!Would HIGHLY recommend this clinic!!

Dr. Amy Wright is one of the veterinarians at Warren county veterinary clinic on Winchester Road. I brought in a feral cat the first time I visited Warren county veterinary clinic and saw Doctor Wright. Initially, I said, “I think he is about a year old”, then she snapped at me and said “ you don’t know that”. Doctor Amy Wright then aggressively open my cats mouth to look at his teeth and said “ OK he is about a year old.” My cat is missing teeth and she encouraged for me to feed him dry food. I think my cat would choke trying to eat dry food since he doesn’t have teeth to chew. I don’t need a veterinary degree to know that. Then, Doctor Wright brushed my cat with a flea comb, glared at me and said “there are fleas and ticks on your cat!”. I already told the doctor that I found my cat in the wood a few days prior. I brought my cat there to be treated for all of issues that come with finding a cat in the wild, not to be treated like an idiot. After the bad introduction, Dr. Wright started to suggest lab tests and treatments that I discovered later were not necessary for my cat to have at the time. Doctor Wright was not aware of any of the expenses for the treatments she was suggesting either, so she walked in and out of the room to consult her assistants in the treatment area (that is supposed to be sterile) to find out the prices. Opening and closing the door five times in 2 minutes is obviously stressful for a cat in an unknown environment, especially a feral cat I found in the woods. Doctor Wright diagnosed my cat with “pillow feet”, which is an immune disorder that she determined by looking at his paws. She did not give me any advice on how to maintain or treat the disease. (I visited another veterinarian for a second opinion and they denied that my cat has “pillow feet”). All Doctor Wright did was prescribe my cat an antibiotic “for his skin” since he has cuts and scrapes on his back. I showed her the natural wound care I was using for my cat to treat those wounds and she told me that it is not going to cure anything and my cat needed antibiotics. After I agreed to $500 worth of treatments and medication and was about to leave, Dr. Wright said “ haven’t you had a cat? Shouldn’t you already know all of this?”. I had a cat for 18 years and he died three years ago, so obviously I don’t remember. Although Doctor Wright scheduled my cat to be neutered, she didn’t even complete the surgery herself. She allowed the procedure to be done by a veterinarian I do not know and has never seen my cat before without asking me before the surgery. I went to Warren County veterinary clinic again to address the other feral cat I found in the woods and Doctor Ianni was very nice to me. Although it was technically a visit for a sick patient, she combined the price with an annual exam since my cat had never been to a veterinarian before and saved me $80. Doctor Ianni also performed the spay surgery for the cat she examined. I didn’t feel like Doctor Ianni was trying to make money or being rude at all.I heard the assistants talking to a veterinarian about Doctor Wright, and they said “yeah, because she doesn’t have a heart”.I saw Doctor Pence at another appointment with one of my cats and she was very honest and kind. Doctor Pence and I discussed my cat’s symptoms and she did not believe any testing or treatment was necessary, just honest advice to change the environment at home to reduce stress. Doctor Pence was not trying to profit from me either, but I got a totally different impression from Doctor Wright. I have worked with veterinarians who don’t like animals before and was told by a veterinarian that the veterinarians that do not like animals just do it because they like science. I am 100% positive that Doctor Amy Wright is one of those veterinarians. Warren county veterinary clinic is a great facility and very clean with some great veterinarians, but I highly recommend you stay away from Doctor Amy Wright. I am no longer taking my pets there. Stay away from her or she will ruin your whole impression of that veterinary clinic.

The staff and doctors are always top notch! They are caring and compassionate. They are understanding and empathetic. They do their best to get you in for a last minute appointment. I have had to put 2 of my animals down due to illness or age there. They were always so kind and gentle. They truly understand that your pet is your family and they treat them as if they were their family too.

We’ve been using this vet for over 30 years and about 10 pets over the years, mostly cats but a few dogs. They are great! Their customer service is great, excellent communication (especially during curbside pandemic changes), and they know their stuff. I feel confident when I bring a pet here.

I have used this Veterinary Clinic for some pretty personal things... As in, having to put my doggie down. The veterinary team was comforting and the Veterinarian was easy to talk to and also comforting when I was in their office to have my dog put to sleep. I would never take my animals to a different Vet.

They've always been very helpful and nice to us and our animals! Nothing but good things to say about the people and the quality of service here. The staff had been able to help us with meds after hours, at times, which has been a huge help and convenience over the years! Thanks again! Recommended!

Affordable & friendly. Upon adopting my cat from Warren Co animal shelter, she was given a voucher for a free checkup from Cedarville. I took her a few days after adoption & they got get in promptly. Very polite and kept me updated on the cost of vaccinations. Recently dealt with them via phone regarding a foster situation & they angered my every question to the T.

The staff is very friendly. Only negative thing is it's difficult to get a regular check up appointment in a timely manner. I believe they are requiring deposits for appointments now because of so many cancellations. I think this may help with the issue at hand.

We have been bringing our pets here for over two years now. We have always been greeted by the staff and they have shown our pets nothing but love. Tucker (dachshund) is not excited to go anywhere in car, he gets sick. Warren County Veterinary Clinic has helped with his nausea and he is a little better. On the other side of the spectrum is our Hansel (Shepherd/Lab mix) love every chance he can to ride in a vehicle. I think they both enjoy meeting the staff and vice versa. I would recommend that you take your pet here.

We are so grateful for Dr. Kristen Pence and the way she handled the emergency with our Schnoodle. We took her in on Friday knowing she wasn't feeling well. Turned out she had Pyometra and her uterus was infected. it was 2:00 PM and Dr. Pence did an emergency hysterectomy despite her already busy schedule. Dr. Pence told us that if the surgery were not done immediately, our dog likely would not live through the weekend. Rather than sending us to an emergency veterinary clinic that would have been much more expensive and probably not as caring as the staff at the clinic, she and the staff accommodated our pet in their office. Now, two days later, our dog has her energy back and is as loving as ever.

Update: While I would bring my animals here for medical care, I will NOT bring them here to be put to sleep when it's their time again.Unfortunately, they are still a bit old fashioned in the manner in which they put animals down and the process they used is an unpleasant and generally not accepted practice in more modern clinics anymore. My dog was awake the entire time and just paralyzed by drug, which meant that she was able to feel and react to the entire process to include the very painful drug used to stop her heart. This was and to some extent is still an accepted practice in modern veterinary medicine. Most places put the animal to sleep, then paralyze them, then stop their heart, so they don't feel anything. So be aware, it's quick, but unpleasant if you are sensitive or want your beloved pet to go in a painless manner. That said, they were VERY compassionate and caring and I did feel that they felt the pain of my loss as keenly as I did.Medical care though:Excellent service, wonderful Vet, they have done an amazing job of helping my old pup, would return again. Clean and extremely helpful staff.

I recently moved to the Front Royal area and had scheduled an appointment for my dog at 9:30 am and when I got there, there were 6 or so people waiting. It took them a while to get me checked in and after that, 45 minutes later, without a word being said to anyone otherwise, they announced that they had an emergency, were sorry for the wait and that was it. I sat for another 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged our still being there and finally someone from the front desk said they'd be with me shortly. Meanwhile, people who had just arrived were being seen and even greeted. The vet techs only spoke to the dogs and people they knew and the front desk staff only spoke to each other.. in a whisper. After being there for an hour and 10 minutes, we were finally put an exam room. After 5 minutes more minutes and hearing people being checked in and out, I stuck my head out the door at which point a very rude staff member asked me if I needed something. I told them I was had been there for an hour and 15 minutes and she nodded and made a gesture as if she were going to do something. After 90 minutes, I left. Nothing was said to me after I walked out. No phone call was made to see what had happened. I have had animals for 22 years and have NEVER had service like that before.

Do not go here!! They charged me triple what they quoted for a blood test, said they would call me next day. Never called so I did. Receptionist said I need to speak to the doctor and hung up on me.never even tried to page me through. Called the next morning put me on hold for 20 minutes. Called back and was laughed at. Finally got ahold of doctor and was told they were confused with test results. Was presented with more expensive testing. I had told them possible conditions but insisted on irrelevant tests just to charge me. They only care about the money. Did not seem passionate to my cuddly critter.

We have nothing but positive thoughts and experiences with the practice! We began using their services in Feb. & March of 2018 when one of our 2 new Yorkshire Terrier puppies began having serious health issues. She was critical and the staff there in addition to the Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Winchester saved her several times within the first 7-8 days. Over this last 18 months, they have been there for numerous phone calls from us, as well as visits for our little Gracie and Georgie. We live about an hour away from them; but, upon recommendation, we decided to go with them. It was the best decision we could have made!! Continued thanks! to them all.
