A great older hardware store has many choices. It's much easier than the big box stores. Plenty of employees to help. I was there for a few minutes and had 3 different employees ask me if I needed help. I like supporting mom and pop stores.

Great neighborhood non-big-box hardware store. I prefer to spend my money with a local merchant instead of some faceless mega-corporation. When you need help, not only can you find someone to help, but you can actually find someone who knows what they're talking about and it's pleasant to deal with.

I should have done this long ago, but after another exceptional visit today, I’m writing now. This store is an absolute gem in town, and beats Lowes hands down. They have always had the products I need, and other gems besides. Alan is THE BEST! He is a fountain of knowledge, polite and friendly. He has given superb advice on many projects, which we’ve always followed with success. I’m leaving today with a clear picture of what I need to do on my latest project, and with everything I need to get it done.

Walked in with a photo of what we were looking for. Showed it to the man who greeted us, and he led us right to the product. Very friendly, very helpful and knowledgeable, and the price yesterday was $4 cheaper than Amazon. We always try to shop local.

Never crowded, great variety of equipment rentals, and knowledgeable staff. Depending on what you’re after, prices are better than big box stores nearby.

I want to tell you a story about what True Value means to me. Growing up in Front Royal, VA, I spent a lot of time working around the house on various projects with my dad and brothers. Whether it was fixing up my mother's garden, repairing holes in the walls, or buying snow salt for the winters, we would frequent our True Value on a monthly, sometimes weekly basis, as our home for hardware and projects. We could have gone to Lowes or Home Depot, but what really resonated with me every time was the friendly, happy-to-help employees at True Value. Always greeting us with a smile, calling us by name, and eager to hear about our new project. That's what locally owned and locally operated means to every Do-It-Yourself'er.

While this is smaller than the big box stores, finding what you need is a lot easier. All the employees are friendly and competent (how many stores can say that?). I'm also appreciative that during the COVID era they not only enforce a reasonable mask policy but state that you can go to another store if you're unwilling to follow it.

Staff is awesome. Their rental section is pretty cool.I returned the drywall lift before the rental period was over and they took 24 hours off my bill.They are really mask picky. Wont shop there when the policy is in effect.

BEST place to get keys made! Vehicle keys that are MUCH cheaper than anywhere else! They also have hardware's, yard supplies, & items like unique puzzles! Also, GREAT customer service!

I always have an excellent experience when I visit Ramsey. Yesterday I needed help finding materials to mount an exterior security camera. I had not one, but two gentlemen take the time to help me find everything I needed, including brainstorming mount solutions and ensuring I had all the supplies I needed and bonus installation tips. Their assistance was much appreciated!!!

Ever since we moved to Front Royal 5 years ago, we have shopped at Ramsey's. We prefer to support the local businesses as much as possible before heading out to the big box stores or buying from Amazon. We have been loyal customers, spending much money in this store. This morning, my husband was thrown out of Ramsey's for refusing to wear the tyrannical mask. So much for supporting local businesses. We will NEVER spend a single penny in this store again. Very disappointed with the attitude of Ramsey's.

Never disappointed when going to Ramsey’s Front Royal. The crew really goes out of their way to help a customer. It’s really rare now days for a store to go out of their way and actually cares. Oh and didn’t know they fill propane, it was quick and easy.

This is a community fixture hardware store. Super friendly staff and great Ownership in Lee and Doug. Both are '"genius-level DIY solutionists". Highly recommend. Also: vehicle chip key experts too.

Very good hardware store. I like it better than Lowe’s or Hime Depot. They seem to have more odd things that the box stores don’t have. I don’t think this is a box store. It feels more like a hometown hardware store.

Absolutely horrible customer service. They walked past 10 times before asking is assistance was needed and the ppl I asked when I first came in just kinda drooled on themselves without any real response to advice on the products. Prices are crazy. I'll be going to Lowe's from now on. The drive may be further but the knowledge there and prices far outweigh the inconvenience.

Will be going to Lowe's from now on. I've been excited to try out the local store but was very disappointed in the lack of customer service this evening. Cashier asked that I price an item for him. When I declined and suggested he price it, he decided the sale was not important enough and reaffirmed that I should go locate the pricing myself and come back to him.

You pay a bit more, but the staff can actually help you if you have a question unlike some of the large chains. If they don't have it tou can order it. Good old school hardware store. Splurge the dollar.

There's something to be said about the service of a family-owned business. I've been a half hour calling around to plumbing supply stores and get a recording or put on hold. I decided to call Ramses. I got answered on the first ring and then got my question answered. Something the big stores are too busy to do. Support your local businesses.
