My girls and I got to pet an opossum! And a friendly bearded dragon. I was told about this little shop by a friend and they said that I had to go here. It is actually quite a large store full of artwork, crafts, and great humorous gifts. The employees are friendly and helpful and you’re sure to find something to buy here. They rescue injured animals and care for those that cannot be returned to the wild. I bought a few interesting books and my girls bought some fantastic stickers. They have plushies, hand bags, shirts, signs, jewelry and plenty of unique possum related items as well. This is a fun store to peruse and we were there for almost an hour. Worth a trip downtown!

A wildly varied store filled with all sorts of possum-based swag, fun knick-knacks, artwork, and freeze-dried candy. It's definitely a fun place to check out and peruse their assortment of goods.Sometimes, they'll bring a real-life possum that one can pet, but they also have lots of other animal friends too!

Definitely the most unique shop in Fredericksburg! I can't believe you can actually pet a possum and meet many other animals too. There is also a large variety of unique gifts from local artists. They also sell natural handmade soap which I've been loving. I'm always looking for products like that locally. I get the fragrance free because my skin is sensitive, but the other scents and designs were lovely! It's called Rainforest Soaps. The selection in store rotates so there is something for everyone.I've also bought many different cute things like key chains made by the artists upstairs. You can tell everything in the store is made with love and care and the owner has created a wonderful selection! Definitely worth the visit if you're a local or even from out of town. It's a store worth the trip.

My friend and I drove down from fairfax after we saw this gift shop on Instagram. I got to meet Sweet Pea and learn about opossums! Also, they have a snake and a cat! The cat sat on me and I was trapped for a few minutes but she is the sweetest little creature. I bought a bag and some earrings too! I HIGHLY recommend going here!

Made a point to visit this shop while traveling. It's definitely worth the stop. Today, we got to meet one of the rescue opossums Margo, she was snoozing in her stroller, but it was still very exciting to meet her and touch her soft fur. Lots of local goodies for purchase. The owner is a sweetheart ❤️

This is by far my favorite shop in Fredericksburg. They are celebrating their one year Anniversary and feel so lucky this great shop calls Fredericksburg home. The shop is on the second floor of a unique candy shop/gallery and has such a wide range of products that any animal lover will enjoy.When you walk upstairs you are greeted by awesome artwork by Molly, jewelry, knitted goods and some other awesome products in the hallway. Once you enter the shop there are walls of unique animal artwork, postcards, stuffed animals, purses, wallets, crocheted possums, coffee, books, sculptures, gifts galore.What I love about the store is that the owner runs a legitimate possum rescue. When I say a possum rescue I do not mean the type where people have possums for pets so they can dress them up and put them on Instagram. She rehabs possums and has years of rehab experience. You will be so blown away by how sweet, adorable and precious these possums are (she has a handful who could not be released and help educate the public). The store posts the days of the week and hours that you will find a possum ambassador asleep in their adorable carriage in the store. You can pet them, but please don't ever try to pick them up or touch their faces. The store also hosts a variety of events including book readings, Hissing Booth (coming soon) and educational programs.I've been to the shop so many times that I know all the possums by name ❤️. It really is a wonderful addition to Fredericksburg, be sure to stop there if you're in town.

SUCH a cool spot. I love opossums and I heard about this store online, and finally visited when I was passing through the area. I spent 90 minutes in here browsing and could've stayed even longer. It's not ONLY opossum art, but that's definitely the overall theme. If you're looking for art, jewelry, or clothes for gifts, check out this place!

It was a wonderful experience! I drove an hour to see this place and it was worth it. I got a very cute crochet axolotl from there. They have sooo many things and let me just say this was one of the best things I have done in a while! They have a lot of cute things and animals!

I absolutely love Possumbilities! I've been here a number of times, and every time has been a blast. I even had the pleasure of introducing a close friend of mine to the shop today :DA wide variety of animals can be found here, including a bearded dragon, a cat, and even a pigeon! Most commonly, the rescue possums are the ones representing the shop. All of the animals are well-mannered, and their humans handle them incredibly well. Everyone is friendly and so excited to tell you about their animal companions!The possum caregiver [and owner of the shop!] is often present and can tell you anything you could ever want to know about the fluffy little guys! She takes care of the possums that can't be released back into the wild for a variety of reasons. There are detailed profiles for each of the possums on a wall near the front door if you want to know more about them. :)There are many notable names that sell here, from Fluffnest to Nekohana. I know a lot of the artists that sell here from other expos in town as well as seeing their online shops, so it's nice to know they support small businesses and artists. <3If you are in the market to support local independent artists, they have almost anything and everything you could want. From tote bags to trinket dishes, from plushies to patches, it's all here! Whether you're looking for a gift for an animal lover or just seeing if there's something you can treat yourself to, there's something here for everyone.Possumbilities is a warm and welcoming environment, and it's a great way to spend the afternoon: surrounded by friendly animals, awesome people, and cute animal merchandise like you've never seen before. Possum-bilities is a really cool store. It’s one of my favorites! The 1st floor has a variety of animal-themed merchandise to buy, including stuffed animals, figurines, socks, books, prints, purses, etc. The 2nd floor is full of local artwork! It even has a small oddity section in the back that has skulls and wet specimens. The store has a lot of unique and neat items to purchase. The coolest thing about the store is that you can see real opossums! The owner, Karen, brings opossums to the store! Karen also does tours at her home, showing people her rescued opossums. She is very kind, funny, and informative. I definitely would recommend visiting the store and scheduling an opossum tour! It’s perfect for animal lovers!

My mother found this shop on Facebook and surprised my partner and I with a trip from Richmond to Fredericksburg! Opossums are one of my favorite animals, I was extremely excited to have been able to finally meet one here! This shop was beyond wonderful, they had tons of knick-knacks and local artwork (some of my favorite things). While I was visiting this store I purchased some awesome artwork. It wasn't until I got home that I had noticed that there had been an accident and I had been overcharged. Since I wasn't local, I emailed the owner and I was met with a response in a very fast manner. They refunded the amount they could on my card and offered to send the rest that I paid in cash via paypal. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the incredible customer service I received not only in the store but via email while having my issue resolved. I couldn't recommend this store enough, go visit and show your love to the wonderful owner, employees, and critters!

This place is THE BEST. People that don't know opossums are creeped out by them for obvious reasons. We have listened to several podcasts about them, have interacted with them, and are complete lovers of these gentle and productive critters. Possum-bilities highlights opossums in all of their greatness, as well as other exotic and somewhat over-looked creatures. This place is a MUST STOP in downtown Fredericksburg! Just off the main street downtown and there is usually one possum on duty...or sleeping.

We got to pet a possum, exactly as advertised! I also learned that possums aren’t immune to rabies, just resistant due to their lower body temperature.They sell frog hats, but no possum hats that I saw.

The owner does wildlife rescue. Some profit helps with the rescue . It's an eclectic store with lots of treasures. There is a tortoise and an opossum that visit there . Great store

My husband and I stumbled upon this place while walking in downtown Fredericksburg. What a charming place! The owner was so kind, and we were lucky enough to see one of the possums, Oliver, in person. There’s a lot of beautiful local art. Very sad I’m not local and can’t attend possum yoga in the future!

where do i start? i love this place so much, the owner is so magnificent, the possum celebrities even better, and the art inside is awesome. ive found great things to put around my room in this store. local artist sell there art here so if you like to support small artists come here! theres also some local candys and fudge if you find yourself a sweet tooth while looking around!

I love it here :) there are so many beautiful prints and pieces of wall art along with small decorative sculptures. They also have a wide and wonderful selection of stuffed animals for sale and gnomes as well! You will have a lovely time in this store even if you just stop by to look :)
