When we are on this side of town, we do like going to Petco. We mostly enjoy it more over other pet stores due to them having saltwater fish/aquariums. We also like their selection of birds, hamsters, gerbils, reptiles, cats, and even a chinchilla. They have an enormous selection of pet food and supplies.

I wouldn't recommend purchasing pets here. Maybe for things they need but not reptile At least. I tried to talk with a customer service rep. about a dead bearded dragon. But they kept walking the other way just avoiding customer contact like Best Buy. I came to purchase a chameleon. But this wouldn't be the first time I walked in here and witnessed this so now I guess it's time to say something.

Been here a few times now and have never been greeted nor helped in any way by the staff.High prices on their birds when the prices are actually posted. Their selection of avian food was much broader than I expected and they do carry many healthy options for feathered pets.The dog food selection is underwhelming. We tried one of their house brands for our dog and 2 out 3 bags had bugs. (A note to corporate went unanswered. )

Petco has an amazing program with a local rescue that helps get cats adopted. I'd you are looking for a new friend to add to your family then look no further than Petco!We love the atmosphere of petco and it is very welcoming!Visit!

Excellent service every time I visit the store. I HATE buying store bags, especially since I just bought the store products. Show your customers that you appreciate their support by giving them a bag.

Don’t recommend their grooming. I made a bath appointment for my doodle and received multiple calls the day of. The feel of the calls were as if they either did not have time or did not want to groom him. They asked about his coat assuming it was matted and also asked if I wanted a cut (though if I wanted a cut, that’s what I would have booked). I rescheduled to ensure I had time to fully brush him out and then received two additional calls and a voicemail to let me know they will not be performing a haircut that I never booked or asked for. I did not get harassed when I booked appointments for my lab and should not be harassed for my doodle.I have been to multiple locations and will not bring either pet back to this one. If I wanted a cut, I would have booked that. If they were referring to sanitary cuts, that could have been discussed at the appointment and I did not need to receive multiple calls nor did the tone of the call need to be rude. I will continue looking for a professional groomer that cares for the owners and pups.

These staff in Petco are very helpful and knowledgeable. We buy our fish there, and we are always getting great tips to help with the fish and our tank.

Poor customer service throughout. We live in a rural town so there's no PetCo close. Our puppy got sick 2x along the way so instead of simply bringing him in w/vomit all over him we had to stop to clean him off. We called ahead to let them know we'd be late. They said it'll be ONE MINUTE too late when we get in as the vet leaves at exactly 6pm w/no exceptions. We told them we had already been driving for an an hour and 15mins, our dog got car sick and we had to bring our 2 young daughters and 18month old son so asked them to kindly make an exception for the additional minute. Got there ONE MINUTE passed 6pm and the vet turned us away!! Store manager wasn't available but the manager stated that although they contracted w/the vet clinic, it is separate from PetCo so she would not even ask them to make an exception! Petco should contract with a vet clinic that has better customer service as things happen especially with puppies. It really just felt like no one gave a hoot about our plight. If you live in a rural town my suggestion is GO TO A LOCAL VET. I know they wouldve made the exception!!! Tractor Supply, Food Lion, etc all sell horse, dog, cat, etc supplies. I know Petco has a million customers and could not care less about losing this one but I will NEVER put faith in that company again. I will be calling Monday to get a refund on the prorated amount I paid towards our puppy's ongoing vaccines and take our unwanted business elsewhere. And by the way, train your cashiers to help the people patiently waiting in line first and NOT reward unmannered, self-important brutes who skip the line instead!

The snakes at this location aren’t properly cared for especially this one particular one. The skin was cracked and so terribly dry it looked painful. The temperature was low at 75’ and their humidity at 20%. There’s absolutely no interaction from employees and the staff is very unapproachable. They don’t seem to care about the conditions of the reptiles they have for sale.

My sweet rescue puppy, Willow, completed the puppy level 1 & 2 classes with Jessica and the Adult level 2 class with Kayla. They were absolutely awesome! Turned my crazy, rambunctious mischevious puppy into one who is more behaved and obedient. Is she perfect after these 3 classes, no. But she has come a LONG way, and now we definitely have the tools we need to keep working with her! Would definitely recommend these classes to get started in the right direction with your new puppy!

My husband purchased fish about 3 weeks ago and within a week three of them died. My husband was furious and stated he would not ever shop at Peco again. He had taken those fish out and then I noticed one of the orange ones was dead and floating. I made him put it in the freezer and I called the store and told them what happened. I was told to bring in a sample of water and the fish. I explained that I cannot drive because I am 100% disabled from being hurt while on active duty and my husband refused to even go to their store since the lady explained that she had one filtration system and there were no problems. Three days later the last one we purchased from Petco died and I put it in the freezer and again called the store and she told me to come in when I could get a ride but to bring the water. It was bad enough that every fish we purchased from Petco died but then after a week our fish that we had raised from little tiny babies started dyeing and he was furious and went to PetSmart with a water sample and it showed we only had a little hard water and we had to purchase over $100.00 of antibiotics water medication to put in our 90 gallon (plus 10 for filtration system). So it took one box for each treatment and I called today and said what was going on and the lady said that the fish manager was not in today but since I had not come back in with water sample and she kept saying that she knew for a fact that she had not had any problems with the fish tanks and no complaints of any fish dying from anyone that there was nothing she could do. We loved those fish. He raised them from little tiny fish and watched them grow and they were so active until we introduced Petco's fish. Now I see that I am not the only one that has lost fish and I see that it was answered by the store so what I was told about no problems with their fish was not the truth.

I brought my 5 pound puppy Sophia to get a shampoo, hair cut, nail trim and removal of the hair between her pads, today March 12, 2024. I explained that she slides with the hair between her toes. I asked that her tail not be cut. When I picked her up 3 hours later she looked a total mess. Brandon explained that she was very nervous. She had spots of hair cut to the skin. It was choppy and uneven every where. I asked Brandon why her chest was cut to the skin? He said she has a “cow lick” and that is how it is done. I did not see how bad she looked until I was outside. I was so upset that I could not go back in the store. $75 got my puppy a cut that looked like she had mange. Her tail was cut, her nails were not and she still has hair between her toes. I will never go to that Petco on Plank Road.

This place is good for the items that the other store doesn't stock. It really reeks of smell. At this location. It's been smelly for years.

Love this petco! I don't really like big box pet stores because of some sketchy practices I've seen, but the managers here care. They hire people who care about the animals they're working with and are knowledgeable as well. They also take the time to help customers get what they need at a great deal

Bought a fish from the aquatics department for $70 after asking multiple times if there was any disease in the tanks where it came from. Took it home and noticed two spots (ich) as soon as it settled in my aquarium. Within 24 hours it was dead. I will not be shopping here anymore.

The dog trainer, Jessica is awesome! When they graduate they get their picture taken with a little graduation cap and their certificate....very cute!Both Killian and Emma love her! Jourdan is Emmas favorite employee there. Jourdan is wonderful with her....when Emma goes into the store there is only two people she seeks out and that is the two!Killian is more reserved and more into Jessica than anyone else! All the employees are awesome with not only our furbabies, but with questions we have from training to toys and food. I recommend the Plank Rd. Petco for all your pets needs!

I get to PetCo at 7:55, It closes at 8:00. The doors were deactivated/locked. The employee looks at me standing at the door and turns and walks back to the register.I turn around and tell the couple behind me, I guess they closed a lil early and proceed to my truck.On the way I pass a Caucasian gentleman walk up to the door, by this time it is 8:00. Guess what happens...yea, the same guy lets him in!

The woman in the fish department is AMAZING. She was so patient and answered all of our questions and gave great advise. Very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Her customer service is what brought me back a second time and will continue to shop here for.

Can't seem to leave a review with 1/2 or no stars; so will go with 1, although they don't deserve it. They turned our goldendoodle into a poodle. Our granddaughters, whose dog she is, said she looked bald and awful. On top of that, they charged us for work we hadn't agreed to. We agreed to the initial clipping/grooming for $72 and then nail clipping for $12. That's $84. Got to the register and was charged $110!! They didn't even give her a scarf or bow like others have. The cashier took the itemized page, so I don't know what all the extra charges were for. Plus, they don't let you see the dog until after you pay!! So if you're unhappy with what they did, you have no recourse! We had another pup scheduled to go there the following week but canceled the appointment. Not only will we no longer take the dogs for grooming here, but will not shop at such a dishonest store either.

I took my 2 dogs to their grooming salon, one was just getting brushed out, the other was supposed to get shaved because she's having a hard time in this heat. Well I was charged $176 and she came out looking like a 2 year old got ahold of her with some scissors. She has had the cut I was asking for at Petsmart and they did a perfect job and charged way less. Petco is not even answering the phone. Stay away from their grooming salon.

The staff is friendly and the store is clean. We went through the puppy/dog training here about a year ago. There was a wonderful young lady named Kala (I think) and she was fantastic.

I'm here every week buying crickets for my leopard gecko, and the employees are awesome. Petco really has everything your pet could need. I took their dog training course with Jess as well, and if you keep up with the training at home, it works!

Sent my husband in to buy ghost shrimp. they sold him $8 a piece "rainbow shrimp" that were actually ghost shrimp.
