Honestly I’ve been coming here for years but since they changed things it’s no longer my favorite place to get coffee downtown. They blocked off their second room and have no wifi now. My friend just told me they kicked her out bc she didn’t buy something immediately after entering. She was waiting on a friend and wanted to wait for her. They said she needed to buy something or get out. Not my cup of tea or coffee. Obviously the coffee is fine but don’t like the atmosphere anymore.

Hyperion is a nice spot to drop in for a cup of coffee, tea, or pastry when walking around downtown. It’s right on the corner so parking depends on open availability on the street. Don’t let that prevent you from stopping in. Everyone is very friendly and what you expect from a local shop. Cool music and environment to relax and enjoy a drink. Highly recommend.

I've been going to Hyperion for 17 years whenever I'm in town. It's hands down the best and most consistent coffee shop in Fredericksburg, a true staple. Their location is great for grabbing a coffee to sip on while walking downtown, and it's also a great place to meet a friend to sit outside, drink coffee, and people watch.Their service is generally friendly and helpful, even when there's a line going out the door. Their coffee and pastries are the real deal, always quality and fresh. Love Hyperion and will be coming back till the day they close (unless I die first of course).

My wife and I went here for the first time and were both excited because we had both heard such great things. I ordered a cappuccino and my wife ordered a hot chocolate. Unfortunately both of our drinks had a terrible burnt flavor to them, I assume from steaming the milk for too long. Overall the vibe was nice and the customer service was good as well, but the drinks really fell flat.

I went here for the first time this mornin with my sis, I got a mocha and chocolate muffin, and both were really great ane tasty! The atmosphere was great and I loved the art.Service was really nice, quick and fast and the person taking my order was really nice, unlike this one worker at the subway at washington square !

The food, service, location, parking, and atmosphere is great. There is always a long line, so you'd assume the coffee was to die for...I went here twice. The first time, I got a latte, and I think it tasted bad because I got oat milk (I'm lactose)... so I came by a 2nd time to get a black coffee with a Guatemala coffee bean (I prefer my coffee black, and it's good to me), but it still tasted watered-down and weird... it didn't taste bitter, but it didn't taste like coffee. Even adding a dab of sugar and creamer didn't help much.They processed my black coffee really fast. It was almost instantaneous... so I'm not sure if it was "fresh." It definitely didn't feel that way. I really wanted to give this local shop with really good reviews a try, but it just disappointed me twice.The fancy drinks are pretty good, though (the protein drinks and other mixtures), just not the coffee drinks.P.S. on their website, it states everything is made fresh from order, but it's obviously not that way. It's pre-made maybe an hour or 30min ago. You can tell.Parking: Usually filled on a busy day, but there's availability when there's no rush hour. Must know how to parallel park or back up into a spot well.Kid-friendliness: The area isn't dangerous for kids to wander around.

Great coffee (loved the eggnog espresso), but atmosphere felt a little cramped. I would definitely come back some day when I’m walking in downtown and need a coffee, I just probably wouldn’t stay to do work inside.Parking: Very little street parking available, but there is a free lot just down the street.

Awesome coffee, espresso and more.Prime location in downtown area, loads of seating, friendly staff and reasonable prices.Baked goods, snacks, great tea selection and more. Cool atmosphere, sundry items and vibe makes this a neat place to check out.Very popular, but fast service and ample time to enjoy a cup.

I didn't try any food but the Latte was excellent. The coffee came quick and hot and the staff were perfect . I sat outside while i enjoyed my Latte.Parking: There is sufficient parking available.

I had a delicious latte with very nice latte art. Impressive. I asked because I had been practicing (and sucking) at making designs. It was probably the best latte I've ever had. Visually pleasing too. Highly recommend! A friend had a soy mocha frappe. He gave the edge to Starbucks (but compared to the full fat/flavor version).

Probably the busiest coffee shop in the area. Consistently good coffee and pastries. They are a "must stop in" on the list when my adult kids are in town. My daughter swears its the best coffee she's had. Even for as busy as they get the staff are still quite pleasant and seem to know their regulars by name or coffee order. While I'm not a huge or regular coffee drinker I've gone in enough times now they've almost got mine down too.

I think the place was quite nice and inviting. Excellent for a cup of coffee but don’t expect many variations or customizing your coffee significantly. Still, the staff was very friendly and the establishment and ambiance, very nice and cozy. Keep driving towards the river where you will find FREE PARKING.

You know what makes me happy?! Being able to enter this beautiful establishment again! I was over the moon when I walked up to Hyperion and saw that chairs have returned to the exterior and there was some bar/window seating inside. The owners have been hard at work making improvements to the interior. The upper section is still being worked on, but you can enjoy selecting your pastries and ordering your tasty beverages in person! Thanks for makingy morning extra bright today :)

Coffee ☕ is mediocre (= 3), staff is rude (= 1) 3-1=2. I'd rather go somewhere else next time. After rethinking it a bit, this establishment is not entitled to a 2, based on the lack of attention to customer's desire, aggravation, disrespect and lack of customer service skills, 1 is the best score that they have earned.I tried to explain how I'd like my coffee and they were rude and not receptive. Having my coffee my way is important to me.I asked for 2 shots of expresso with piping hot milk no foam. Register attendant 1 ask "a latte?" She seems confused and I repeat and explain carefully. I respond no, much darker and no foam. She goes into and explanation about how expresso is concentrated coffee ☕ . The barrista interups and says, "I know how to make your coffee" I detect a Spanish accent on the barrista and once again, I repeat in spanish "espreso con leche oscuro y sin espuma" the barista said in spanish, just let me make your coffee.I get a light colored latte with foam. Just what I did not want. Barely taste like coffee and immediately sit to make my assessment. It's a coffee flavored warm milk with foam...The owners should have trained their staff better in both making coffee the way customer want coffee and on how to treat and interact with customers.
