This place is amazing! The staff is fantastic. Going in transports me back 40 years. They have all of the current stuff, comics, toys, games etc ... but they also have an amazing selection of vintage goods. I love how they gave a shot out to Reclaim just down the way, between those two shops, F'burg is complete.

Where to start (sorry if this is a littlelong), I just happened to be in the area and looked for the closest comic shop. This one showed up and I couldn't have been more happy to find this place. First the shop has plenty of room and you'll definitely want to take your time. They have more than enough back issues towards the back of the store but also a good selection up front. If you're into toys and figures Gateway won't disappoint. The employees were all super friendly and very helpful the place is clean and neat. I unfortunately didn't have a lot of time to carefully look at all the books but I did pick some issues that I have had a hard time to find. And the prices are very reasonable. I live about an hour and a half away and I'll definitely be making a trip back. It's well worth the trip you will not be disappointed. You have gained a loyal customer.

If you are a comic book fan or figure fan or toy fan or anything awesome fan, this is the place for you!! The Staff is friendly and extremely helpful. I visited their sister store in Quantico and was informed that this location in Fredricksberg was bigger. When you walk in you will be blown away on the size and selection they have. Mr. Ed was very helpful and shared some secret projects in the back warehouse. They have tons of new and vintage toys and comics here. I am visiting for a week and will make another trip before heading back to Okinawa. Awesome Shop!!!

This is a comic, toy and game collector heaven! The size of Gateway Comics is huge, I have found so many jewels here. If you never been here, not sure what your waiting for! Ed and his team is simply amazing!

Crazy awesome store. The selection is vast. The only thing that could be improved is the overall lighting. The store is dark and ominous. Other than that, don’t skip on the visit!!

You can tell they havent updated their card prices since covid started in 2020-21 🤣🤣 Their pokemon cards are as high as 5x the cost of what they sell for on ebay these days

We love coming here as a family. The kids section is constantly growing and has comics/ books for all ages which is perfect for my almost 7 year old. Staff are super helpful and courteous. They have a great selection of new comics which we like to come check out each week. It's become a family tradition. We also love the 2nd store which has tons of older comics at reasonable prices.

The 1-star reviews on here are just weird and moody.When I go to a comic book store, I’m looking for a large selection of originals, cool collectibles and a healthy variety of retro toys. This place makes nearly every other comic book store I’ve been to look ridiculous in comparison.If you’re leaving a review and crying about a conversation you overheard someone else having, you’re doing life wrong.When I visited, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They knew exactly where everything was and I was happy to find a few issues for my collection.Even if they had been slightly marked up (which they weren’t), I would have been happy to pay a bit extra because I want this place to be here for a good, long time.Don’t listen to the haters. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

This place is phenomenal. It keeps expanding and the selection is vast. I highly recommend stopping in if you're a fan of any nerd culture! Plus, the owner and employees will always recognize you. It's awesome.That being said, if you make the owner mad by not picking up your books from your box, he'll remember, and he'll take it personally. I've spent hundreds in this shop, but yesterday I received a cold stare and then the cold shoulder. Hilarious.

If you enjoy comics, funko pops, and nostalgia, this is heaven. Huge store, very well organized, and great staff. Awesome discounts for subscribed members. If you are a fan of nerdom you could easily spend hours in this place. Locally owned and a go to place at least once per week! Action figures, collectibles, funko pops, and thousands and thousands of comic books!!

Great selection of comics, toys, cards, D&D things I've never seen and I've been playing for 24 years. The toys are not your typical comic shop stuff either. Living dead dolls, monster high, custom hand made Venom art, original in box transformers, every POP! you can think of. It's worth a trip even if you are not a nerd. Classic Action comic from the hay day of the Golden Age of comics. Did Grandpa read the comics as a treat? Bring him a piece of his childhood back. Also a lot of signed pokemon and Magic cards.

It's very nice to have a comic store in the area! But I will say their prices were higher than I had anticipated. When I had asked if I could get a discount on a calendar from 2022. They had said that it since it's a collector's item they couldn't give me a discount. Also, the managers were off that day. So they couldn't do anything. Since it was the holiday season I was generally surprised they didn't have a sale. But I did managed to find some stuff.They also had a officer around the comic store. I'm assuming that people have stolen some stuff. So I thought I let people know that they have security at this location too.My boyfriend really enjoyed talking to the staff. Nate talked with him the whole time until they closed. So it was a win-win for him. Overall I don't think I'll be coming right away. But it's nice to check out every now and again.

Remember the '90s? This place does. Relieve 1998 as you pay $30 for a Beanie Baby! Bask in the sounds of upper management talking down to other employees as if this is *Glengarry Glen Ross*! Get yourself a $10 busted-up Happy Meal toy that'll get chucked in a bag without care! Because who needs a Happy Meal when happy days are so clearly here again? On a serious note, this place is huge, but, in all that space, the stock doesn't wow. While some pieces are better than others, a little curation might help show customers things they've never seen before. However, that still won't be effective unless they reconsider their prices, which are generally at about 50-100% mark-ups beyond the value of the item. There is an area that looks as though it's for kids, but no kids were there. Why? Perhaps because they'd be surrounded by loose toys that all bear pricetags too unreasonably high for any parent to risk letting their little one play around them. In fact, the store was virtually empty on my visit. This should not be, but I understand it. All of this plus my overhearing an employee speak disrespectfully about another worker made this environment too unhospitable to want to return to as-is. I know these 1-star reviews sound harsh, but I'm leaving one in hopes it'll spark some metacognition which might lead to a revision. Work is desperately needed here.

Didn’t get in to the store was turned away by phone, just wanted to sell some old stuff. Magic cards- probably weren’t old enough to be worth the time, VS cards- nobody buys, Pokemon- no… second and Charles it is even though it’s an hr away.

This place is my personal heaven.. I walk in and immediately have ADHD.. I have to pick spots to just stand and look and absorb the immense selection of toys, collectibles, legos, games, movies, comics and GORGEOUS ART!! What a massive place and just chock full of everything you could want.. The staff members are knowledgeable and friendly and love to strike up conversation! If you're a collector or a gamer its your job to come here.. what are you waiting for??!?

You can tell by how the replies are on here that the owner does not care about you unless you have a high prestige item in your pocket. He was acting like a huge sassy child for a 60 something year old man. Heard him yelling at a customer that he didn't want to buy the collectibles they had and to just sell them on ebay. Practically called the customer stupid for trying to sell whatever they had to him, aka a collectible pawn shop.For someone who sells comics for a living, he should really be more respectable to small amount of customers he has considering the outrageous prices of the store. I'm surprised he's still in business with the way he abuses customers. Didn't even want to purchase the Funko's I came there to buy.

I really love this store. One of the best in the area for action figures, collectibles and comics. Well organized, friendly staff. Always something new to add to my collection of Funko Pop musicians. A great place to take your time and browse every aisle. You're bound to find something for your collection.

This is a must go to comic book store in Virginia! It has some of the best selection of back issues, current comics, wall comics, statues, toys, funko pops, video games, and odd ball pop culture goodies. You most likely will be greeted by a old doggo while you visit. The owner and employees treat their regulars great! Be sure to take 500$ when you go because it’s easy to spend money at this location!

This store is absolutely amazing, there were so many comics to choose from, though a bit pricey, well worth it. And there are figures and collectables as far as the eye can see! The customer service is amazing as well. Most definitely will be coming back
