I absolutely love Banfield in Fredericksburg. Dr. Bell is awesome! We have a boxer, who is very active, and she handles him just fine, but Dr. Morgan…..i question if our boxer ever gets a full physical when she’s there so we always try to schedule with Dr. Bell.

Very unhappy with my visit. I came in for a routine exam/vaccinations for my cat. She was in the back for less than two minutes and they brought her back out saying she hissed once so they cannot give her the required shots or exam her. I asked if she got aggressive and they said no, just seemed stressed… what cat isn’t at the vet. I was told she needs to be on sedatives to come back and was charged a FULL exam fee when she never even made it out of the carrier. My cat is 8 years old and never been denied a vet visit nor does she have a history of aggression. Cats are not the easiest to get out of the house, so definitely a waste of my work time and money for no care to be completed.

Update: Domingo, Nicole and Dani are awesome! Promptly took care of some administrative changes to account, made accommodations for Maggie's special needs, provided a thorough summary verbally and in writing. I always rest easy knowing our babies are in good hands !! Thanks guys😀*Cody, Jay and Dr. Bell are ALWAYS, courteous, prompt, professional and thorough with our visits. They even provide a written summary with results, recapping the verbal diagnosis and treatment plan. This is invaluable, as it's impossible to recall an entire verbal briefing. Thank you, from us and our 4 - 4 legged children.

I give this 1 star because the first day I brought my pup in they were kind to me. I signed up for the yearly service because of that experience. The same day, I brought my dog in at 9:00 and they said she would be available at 12:00 so I hung around the area because I live an hour away. I had told them my situation that morning. They wound up giving her back to me at 4:00. I stayed in the area all day for them. I’m back for the checkup and they are doing the same thing to me, even though I explained my prior experience to them. I brought my pup in for a simple checkup and they are going to keep her all day now. They could care less about inconveniencing their clients. All they have to do is keep track of which dog came in first.

HAPPY & PROUD to call this our new Banfield home at Massaponax!We recently moved from another state and were hesitant during our Banfield transfer. We'd loved our previous Banfield Hospital so much, that we weren't sure if our new one would be up to our standards. Lucky for us.... we hit the jackpot twice!Every visit we've made in the past 8 months have been nothing but pleasant, with excellent care. This is coming from a very over-protective family who loves their baby so much....(too much)!Reception is always amazing, especially Amber & Domingo. The medical staff.... I always try to hug them! They're so patient, kind, thorough. I mean they really take care of your fur babies and even you as a patient. A special shout out to Tabitha and Dr. Bell.Thank you, Banfield Massaponax & Banfield Hospital. We've been loyal for over 8 years!

Dr. Bell, Regina, Jenny, Danielle, Wade, Sam, Lauren, and the whole staff are Awesome at Banfield Massaponax! Very professional. We're always greeted promptly, and all of our concerns are addressed thoroughly in language we can understand. We always have peace of mind that our 4-legged children are in good hands. They treat them like their own. Thanks Guys!

My wife and I had to get our dog euthanized 2 and a half weeks ago. We had her for almost 17 years. We told them we wanted a dog paw print from her. They gave us the run around for that entire time. I called today and they admitted to forgetting to get her paw print before cremating her. They also charged the card on file after charging my separate card I gave them the day I was there. Very unprofessional all the way around. This is not something that they can go back and redo to fix the problem.

Can’t say enough positive things about this vet clinic. They are professional, empathetic, caring and make time for emergencies. I Unfortunately had to take my 16 year old cat in over the holidays to be euthanized. My first appointment to have blood work and tests was hard, but although I was presented with devastating news the vet was empathetic and professional. There was never any time where I felt pressured to make any decisions. Over the weekend the same vet called me to see how me and my cat were doing and to let me I was making making right decision for my cat. Although this was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do this clinic maintained a professional and caring atmosphere. Everyone I came in contact with from the lady at the front desk, the vets and the technicians during the actual process were helpful, caring and professional. They truly care about the animals they see. I will forever use this clinic for any future pet needs.

We have been taking our animals to this vet for approximately 9 years. We have watched this vet slowly decline to the point where we are no longer comfortable taking our animals here. The employee turnover rate is insane. Everytime our animals get accustomed to someone and establish a bond/trust with them, they're suddenly gone. The personnel used to truly care about our animals and would spend time thoroughly examining them. They would explain everything to us in great detail and they spent time asking and answering questions. Now we don't get to go back with our animals. We don't get to ask questions. The whole vet appointment takes about 5-10 minutes. It feels like a fast food drive thru. We spend longer waiting for our animal to be seen then we are actually with the vet. It's awful! I don't know how they're treating my animal or if they are truly examining them.Then there are the phones which are rarely answered. Trying to schedule an appointment is a nightmare. We've spent days calling with no answer. When we do finally get a call back it takes a month or longer to get an appointment for our animals. I'm very saddened by what this vet has become. I miss the vets and the techs and the other staff that were compassionate, caring and spent time with us and our animals. I honestly think it's time for us to move on to a new vet. I am disappointed in what this vet has become.

Vets and techs are super sweet with our fur baby. Very comforting, especially when any concerns come up. Also love the Banfield plan. The highest level is worth it in my opinion.

We have taken our cat in 3 times and 3 times we have not accomplished what they were taken in for. She still has not had all her vaccines completed. On our third visit the vet called me as soon as I got outside and asked if we had sedated our cat before her visit. We were never given a prescription or directed to do so. The vet says our cat gets too agitated to check so they want to sedate her. I offered to get the prescription filled and bring it back so it could be given to sedate her and they wanted me to take her home and bring her back a 4th time on another day. Done wasting my time.

i had asked the vet and talked to the vet about my dogs anxiety. and even after the recommendations didnt work she just kept saying oh hes just a puppy and needs training for his anxiety. she was not trying to hear how severe it was. no amount of walking and even the training calmed his anxiety down. i did not receive any other help and i ended up having to surrender the pup so he would not continue to harm himself because of his anxiety. when you called the staff acted like they did not want to be bothered at all and the call backs were rare and they were very rude and acted high and mighty. i will never use a banfield ever again.

If I could give a zero I would! I called for a sick visit for my dog who needed care....I was told "We are too busy". I pay them monthly for "pet insurance"....what a joke! When I finally was seen, my dog was completely misdiagnosed, the following day I had to take him to the pet ER because his condition completely deteriorated overnight (because he was misdiagnosed). So I ended up having to pay bandfield out of pocket (even though I pay for pet insurance) AND I had to pay the ER because bandfield didn't do their job! Do yourself a favor and take your pet to a REAL vet literally anywhere else!

The doctors, staff, and techs are wonderful. They fit me in last minute when my poor pup had a bladder infection. Everyone was so kind and compassionate caring for his comfort. My pup loved the doctor so much. I appreciate them seeing us during a busy day without an appointment.

I love Dr Reid and Emily, but all the doctors and techs here are wonderful. They treat my pets like they would their own pets. I have a cat with kidney failure, and they have gone above and beyond to help us deal with this. I've had all my pets on Banfield Wellness plans for over 13 years, and they are a great deal. I recommend them to anyone with a pet, and I highly recommend this particular location as well.

Appointments are always on time and I am notified when her next appointment is whether it is for shots or a checkup. Very friendly staff and I like the service they provide for my rottweiler. Also the pet plan she is on ensures she gets all her required shots omas well as 2 checkups during the year.

Good regular care. Reasonably priced. Know that the services are limited. Sometimes it’s hit or miss on bedside manner. It’s nice to be waiting in a large pet store so you can pick up necessities while waiting.

This location used to be awesome but has recently been plagued with high vet turnover and extremely long wait times. The customer service I received the last time I visited wasn't the greatest but there isnt a trend here that concerned me. I would NOT recommend anyone frequent this location until some of the issues with vet turnover and wait times are addressed. Recommend Banfield management take a look at this location to ensure it aligns with the needs of its customers. I'm moving on to another vet because I'm just tapped out with the abuse of my time and the impersonal relationships. I hope things get better before they get worse.

This is the best Banfield in the area by far! They always take great care of our dog Benji, and they always do there best to get us in, even if they are incredibly busy. Of course there is a wait when walking in, but at least they get us in, unlike a lot of other places. The Wellness Plan is very helpful as well, as it does save you money in the long run.

I had to take my dog here for some stitches recently. Not only did they fit me in last minute (literally), but they didn't act inconvenienced at all. Dr. Reid was so very sweet and energetic, for a second my vet-clinic-phobic dog almost forgot where she was. She was very patient with my questions and helped me learn something (like maybe I can't manage everything myself) without being condescending or preachy. She also didn't push when I told her we couldn't take the pain killers because my dog doesn't handle them well. She's worked with greyhounds before too, which makes me feel good about bringing my whippet here. I will consider coming back here for an annual check up.

I can't express enough how compassionate/attentive the staff at Banfield Massaponax are. I had a very horrible experience with my two 8 week old kittens at a "highly rated local animal hospital". One of my fur babies was positive for FIV and I was given the run around, " you need to come back again, we can't administer shots etc..", not only was the visit $200 for each visit (at the other hospital) but, I was treated disrespectfully as if I was just another dollar walking through the door.At Banfield, the tech, front desk girls, and doctor took their time to answer all of my questions/concerns while also explaining FIV in further detail, to ease my mind. What an AMAZING team! I 100% definitely recommend for your babies needs!

Rude and condescending receptionist. He had an attitude as soon as he answered the phone. I’ve been a customer here for years and taken all of my animals to this office. Hadn’t taken my dog in for awhile (COVID had been rough on our family) and they told me they weren’t accepting new pets, especially ones without “wellness plans”. Whoever is running that office needs to teach their receptionist some lessons in courtesy.

My boyfriend and I have two kittens that all doctors and staff have gone above and beyond at this location for. We are so happy with their service, we feel like they love our cats as much as we do. We will always recommend them to our friends!!!

Horrible experience. My pet was misdiagnosed twice yet I had to pay a very handsome cost and all these fees. I had to buy medicine twice and pay for treatment from banfield that made my dog situation worse. This was an alergy I'm told. My dog was brought back to me with a bandage on his tail. Why I don't know but he was bleeding some kind of bad from it. Blood was splattering everywhere. I'm like why is he bleeding like this? He hit his tail I'm told blood was everywhere because he was bleeding so bad and store was closing I had to just take him home in my car bleeding everywhere as he keep wagging his tail happy to see me. I stated the meds are making him worse so I stopped treating him with the medsBanfield agreed yet for the 3rd time I was expected to pay for visitation while now I'm taking home an injured pet that was not this way when we arrived. I paid hundreds of dollars for me to figure out on my own what's wrong with him. Now I must treat an injury he sustained while in their care. NO I AM NOT HAPPY....very disappointed in you guys. Where is the zero rating?
