The Forest Kroger is ok.... but needs to be better. There are tons of expired products in this store being sold and the dates are not always visible. The staff are very rude and inconsiderate. My wife told me while shopping in produce, a dude with pins on his shirt bumped her cart with his trolley and didnt even say sorry to her. His name tag said Daniel. He blocked her way for about 30 secs too. Never offered to apologize to her. She saw him standing around chatting and she said he came off as a smart aleck. Daniel definitely needs lessons on how to deal with the public. At the checkouts, my wife told me nobody greeted her and treated her in a very unfriendly manner. We dont have to shop at Kroger... we can take our business elsewhere where we are appreciated

I placed an order for delivery from this store as it's the closest to me. The timeframe passed and nothing was delivered, so I checked the app every 30 minutes to see. It still said it was on the first step, so not even in transit yet.I am including as much detail as possible to help anyone in the future, by the way.2 hours past the delivery timeframe I contacted customer service via the chat, spoken with someone who said they'd follow up on it. A few minutes later, they told me it was just marked as delivered when they called. I was standing outside, and advised them that it was not delivered. I checked the app and the status was still the same, also.Sometimes the apartments in the area get mixed up, so I asked if they could confirm the delivery address, like via GPS or something, but they couldn't. They could only advise where it was supposed to go.They said they'd refund $76.70, which was less than my order. When I checked the app at that time, order now showed delivered with a substitution that made the total less. I asked if they could just send the order through again since I wasn't going to get paid until Monday, needed groceries, and the refund would take up to 5 business days. They could not.The customer service rep also told me to sign up for text updates and I let them know I already was, but I never received anything on this order following the initial message. They really didn't seem to want to believe me. But that's a gripe on corporate, not this store.I suspected that the order was overlooked, and they decided to mark it as complete when the agent followed up instead of even considering delivering it late. Because I've never had this happen prior. Even deliveries that were late showed as being on the way rather than the first step.Anyway, this was on Friday. I checked the app on Tuesday or Wednesday to verify refund status and it told me it couldn't find anything. So I again reached out to customer service via the app. The second agent told me they would put in the refund and that it will take 3-5 business days.Sunday, I received the confirmation for the refund, and it was $69.12.I called them this time and spoke with a person who told me to "ignore the $69.12", I would get my full refund of $76.70, and they would also give me an additional credit that I thought was $20, but was in the system as $10.The refund did indeed come through as $69.12. Which means they kept the delivery fee even though they didn't deliver anything. And the credit I have to use their services again in order to receive.At this point, I'm tired of dealing with them. So I'm just going to warn everyone that right now, Kroger isn't it.Don't order from this store, but if you do, don't expect their corporation to own up to the mistake.

Avoid their dairy section! Purchased dairy products during the last 2 weeks which have been bad, but within the sale by date from this store. Cheese was moldy when we opened the package the same day. Milk was bad despite being under 5 days of the labeled sell by date, Choose dairy products elsewhere.

2/16/24 6pm I walked in the store that smells like rotten meat. I couldn't buy meat or fried chicken from that store. Would also tell you the chicken has chicken feathers on it that is cooked without it being pulled off and the chicken is overcooked at times.

Racial profiling from other shopper, unclean checkout lanes, rude floor-lead workers, and disgusting bathrooms! Plus, Gordon the so called manger is very lazy in doing his job! Prices are never updated in the system verse what is on the shelves.

I love Kroger, especially the one in Forest VA. The produce is always fresh, and the deli has great choices. The meat counter has choices ranging from thick cut bacon, seafood, and nice cuts of beef, including those locally sourced. Speaking of locally sourced, they have a wide range of different items from around the Virginia area. There is nothing better than giving back to my neighbors. Everyone one is always super nice. I definitely recommend shopping here. See you down the aisles

I can think of at least three different pick-up or delivery orders that went seriously awry. Most recently, 10 items were missing from my pick-up order. Another time, I received many of the wrong foods, like sirloin steaks instead of ribeye steaks, smoked provolone cheese instead of regular provolone cheese, and sage instead of rosemary. Customer service did not adequately resolve the issue. I never had issues like this when I did pick-up orders from the Kroger on Timberlake. Very frustrating. Will not be ordering pick-up or delivery from this store again.

Get rid of the managers that aren’t trained to handle situations properly! Olivia doesn’t know how to treat her employees with disabilities and she’s clearly incapable of the “manager” position. Maybe knock her down to just restock the store. There are acts that keep you from treating people with disabilities “the same as everyone else”, they require their LEGAL representative. But clearly Olivia missed that in training. Poor excuse for a manager and it shines brightly on the store.

Pharmacist, Ann, was very helpful in getting a prescription filled for my wife. The cashier at the register in the store, Nathan, was quick and efficient in scanning and bagging my groceries.

I went to this Kroger's today for the first time. It was 5:55 pm on April 9th. I wasn't going to do any shopping. I bank with PNC and wanted to get some cash from their ATM located in Kroger's. When I got there I was told I could not enter the store due to it being easter Sunday, and they were closing at 6:00 pm. I said it's not quite 6:00 pm and I only need to get some cash from the cash machine. The woman refused me entrance. What I don't  understand is why did they lie and say they were closing at 6:00 pm, but obviously they closed BEFORE 6:00 pm. Why does everyone else have to suffer because Kroger's decides to honor a pagan holiday? It's not fair to all of your other customers that do not celebrate this pagan holiday. I could have gone to the cash machine, got my cash, and out by 6:00 pm, but this lady was not letting anyone in, even though it was NOT 6:00 pm yet. OUTRAGEOUS!!!

Like all Krogers high prices for most food unless it's on sale. I prefer to go the Brookville Kroger since it's clean, organized and have the items I want in stock as opposed to the Forest location. I won't buy seafood there (Forest) since we got some bad fish. I don't know why they don't update the Forest location, needs it badly.

As of lately this store has taken a turn for the worse. Expired food in every dept! Please check dates. I brought expired cheese up front and went back today. AND THEY PUT IT BACK ON THE SHELF! I also went to deli for cheese. When I arrived home there was pieces of some meat and juice all over the cheese. The woman in the deli looked miserable, I should have known. The manager has been aware, their excuse is they are short staffed. Well I will find another Kroger who keeps good food and good workers. Sorry to see it go.

Very nice store, came in on 8/25/21. You had all the items we needed, plus Sierra the cashier, was very nice and helped with my Kroger coupons. it's nice to have such good/caring employees.Update: 10/14/22.... Went in and one of Mgrs. Helped me find what I needed ....her name was....Oliva...asst. Mgr. She was very nice and said she loves Kroger. I also talked to......Ben....in the meat dept...he is very nice and got me some nice steaks....keep up the goo work. Thanks...Greg Bedford VA.Update 2/14/23...Came in was looking for some items, and Cameron, helped me. He even took to get my ketchup, now that is Great ..Customer...Service. What a good employee. They are normally a good store but the Last few times we were there they don't honor the digital coupons and today the it didn't even take the specials off. We walked out and checked the receipt and saw that our bill at least 10-12 dollars higher than should have been! Don't know who is dropping the ball!

I commend on a consistent basis an employee in the Forest Road store by the name of Mark. I have been shopping at Kroger in Lynchburg for over 16 years and Mark is one of the kindest, most helpful, encouraging employees I have ever met. I first began to notice him in the meat department, then over in the Deli meats and later in the deli cheese area. He always has a smile and an encouraging word. Recently, my wife and I had been sick so my daughter, down in Suffolk ordered pickup for us at Kroger, Forest Road. After we drove up and notified them we were there out popped a smiling Mark with younger employee. He was encouraging, gracious and kind. As we drove away my heart was so warmed and thankful that we had again been served by Mark. We were very grateful. Mark is a tribute to the Kroger organization, no doubt a blessing and help to many. We enjoy using clicklist. Makes it convenient and they are always ready. If they are out of something they either sub something better or take it off your bill. Nice staff. This is a great store to go in as well. Nice selection and well laid out grocery.

Tonight I ran up to the Kroger 221 in Forest, VA. I arrived at 7 minutes until midnight and was met at the door by an employee. She stated: “The store is closed.” I was polite and said: “Ma’am there’s 7 more minutes until closing and I only need one item.” “ I promise to be quick.” She said: “No, I’m waiting on a customer and that will take until closing.” As I’m leaving she chooses to rub salt in the wound by saying: Have a nice night!” It’s one thing to want to go home, I get that but you can at least act like you like the customer.

The guy who loaded groceries in my car gave me the wrong person's groceries. He was nice and gave me a voucher for $15. Then, I tried to use the voucher, and the cashier spent several minutes verifying it's authenticity. Quite frankly she made me feel like a theif and I have no intentions on coming back to this store.

Very crowded in Sat morning, with people not paying attention to where they are going and blocking aisles.Some shelves don't get shocked on the weekends either or are in the process of being shocked at the busiest time which makes the shopping experience that much less enjoyable.

This is my go-to grocery due to convenience and cleanliness. With fuel points and loyalty program, prices are competitive. Complaints: The sushi is made daily yet what is being sold has solid disks of rice that taste like they were made many days ago (didn't used to be this way but after 3rd bad time in a row I'm editing and removing a star for this - it went in the trash). Apples are often mealy. Other produce is acceptable, and I don't find other local groceries to be better. Use the farmers market whenever possible. Employees are helpful and courteous. Lines move along pretty quickly.

Aisles are well laid out and I have always found exactly what I needed. The store often runs specials and they send you coupons to further save you money. I also enjoy the discounts I receive off gas.

Absolute WORST customer service! This store has gone downhill very quickly. Eliza doesn’t know how to be on time for her job leaving customers waiting at customer service. Fritz does not know the meaning of customer service and would not give me the store managers information so I could file a complaint. Which now leads me to leaving a review and filing a better business bureau complaint. I will never come back to this location.
