Visit this food lion very often as it is 3 min away from home. Normally the experience is decent and people are friendly. Today was a different story. I picked one of three open lines. Wasn’t greeted when I set my hand basket on the conveyor the employee Tonya looked at me like I had lost my mind. She still didn’t say anything. I asked her if she preferred me to take the stuff out of leave it in the basket to be easier for her. She said “ no you better take that out of the basket”. As I was doing so she proceeded to tell me to back up so that I didn’t “smash her fingers” she said nothing else to me until she handed me my receipt. Not a great experience. A simple “hello” would have gone a long way…..

As much as I love Food Lion, this hurts to report yet I must. This is one of the best locations in our area but the stockers are lacking in inspection of the produce they're stocking! While shopping for snacks, I unknowingly picked up a pack of expired (Food Lion) brand Beef Sticks. The expiration wasn't the bad part. The bad part was when I turned the pack over and saw how badly molded they were! I almost lost my breakfast because I never seen dehydrated meat so badly spoiled. The mold looked like polyps of white snow- OMG! I quickly reported it, but to no satisfaction. How could anything sit that long on a public store's shelf without the stockers noticing it??? The stocker whom I notified basically waited till I left the isle before he reluctantly walked over scratching his head looking at the box these Beef Sticks were advertised in. I'm now regretting not making a formal complaint, and I'm glad I at least recorded what I found at that time. So I'm attaching a video which I've also posted on other social media sites so whoever cares can see how disgusting and unprofessional this experience was for me and my family. Comment your thoughts.

I just had a rude cashier tell me to take stuff out of the carrier. Um that is not my job to do, it's the cashiers job. And yes I will continue to shake my head at you. I wish I could have saw her name tag

The folks that work here are always the friendliest, most helpful people in any grocery store in the city that I've been to. They have a decent selection and low prices. Their produce is always the freshest in town! They also have a small bakery section that makes delicious cakes, pies, cookies, etc..

Everyone was so nice. I had my grandson with me and they gave him a banana to eat while ww we were in the store. He waved to everyone and they all waved back.

My visit to foodlion was very pleasant. I found everything i wanted. The store was very well stocked. Everything was neat and orderly, and in it's place. And the store smelled good, which is important. Prices were better than some places, and there was plenty enough people at the checkout aisles. Didnt have to worry with self checkout, which i very much dislike.

A cashiers mother brought in her daughters pet lizard tonight. She placed that lizard on the conveyer belt where people put food. Disgusting.I said something and was told it's a.service animal most likely. I don't think so. Plenty of other stores to shop at.

Food Lion is small, but mighty. I love the produce. You can't always find what you're looking for, but what is there is quite good. And often you can find things you cannot find elsewhere. Definitely get the food lion card for awesome discounts. Recommend

Food lion was so busy but Heather Clark manager of the deli. Served me with such great customer service and even though they was so busy she treated me as if i was the only one in line. Need more people like her.

My favorite one in town. Polite employees. Clean inside and out. Parking is easy and safe at night. Managers are there when needed, and prompt. Stockers keep things neatly on shelves and nothing I have ever bought is out-of-date. Knock-on-wood.

Food Lion has never given me terrible service and this one had everything I came there to get in a set up that boxes better than some of the other ones. That being said, I can't exactly say it's the best shopping experience of my life and I only reserve 5 stars for things that are well above average but this was a fine shopping experience which left nothing to be desired so 4 stars it gets.

I dropped a $20.00 and the night manager Michael chased me to the parking lot to return it to me. He could have kept it, but instead he went the extra mile to get it back to me! I'm grateful because I'm on disability and have to keep a tight budget. Such a wonderful young man! That's what great customer service is about!! Thank you so much!!

Food Lion was okay. The cashier was not friendly, but she was also not unfriendly. She simply was. Everything was where I expected it to be, but there were almost no floor associates to be found. All in all, a reasonable trip to Food Lion.

Its Home Depot - what more needs to be said? Actually, the staff could be a bit more helpful but usually it is a decent visit. I could spend a lot of money here but my wife won't let me.

I will say that I have not done much shopping at this store and now I NEVER will. I had a family member go to that store for a job interview with Nancy. She is the epitome of bad management. He went in ask for her, she proceeded to blow them off, walk off and leave them standing without saying a word. After waiting he finally left. Granted he was not a “Young” person so I guess he didn’t fit her “profile” for an employee. That is pure rude!!!! Lost one family of shoppers and more if people are wise.

One of the things I enjoy about Food Lion is that the store is always organized well and clean. There are a few things that I can find at Food Lion that I do not find at other local stores. One of the downsides of Food Lion is I do find it a little bit more expensive than the other local grocery stores.

Has German thin crust pizza that no one else in Lynchburg carries. These are also some of the cheaper ones, but I prefer these. Very courteous and helpful staff. good prices, sometimes better than others but close when not better.

Don't shop here much but I started working out at a gym down the road. Extremely irritated at the terrible customer service of the deli. Just wanted American cheese, nothing special, but you would have thought the request to get food from the deli was the most inconvenient one that had ever been made. Met with sharp rudeness and audible sighs. Almost laughably terrible. Get rid of your grumpy deli emoyees or I probably won't be the only one to never come back.

Always a great grocery store. I like that it is in the middle of Forest. For me, the size of food Lion is it's big draw, because it's not huge, offering too many options. Most of the time when you go to the grocery store you don't want to wander through a football sized retail outlet.

Bedford store is always out of lactose free items. I have to go 30 min. from Bedford to another of their stores to get items that they both stock
