I worked here 2 nights as a Security Guard for an out of state Senior High School field trip. The overnight front desk folks were awesome! The lobby is nice. It has a pool table, lots of seating and tables for socializing or eating. The front desk is also a mini convenience store. The swimming pool and gym looked clean and well maintained.Walkability: You can walk to Sheets or the racetrack, both are on the same road.Food & drinks: There's a Sheets gas station on the same road. If you order through DoorDash, uber or Grub Hub, the closest restaurants are in Fredericksburg for delivery through those apps.

First, this was an awesome hotel with excellent staff. Donnetta checked us in, and I have to say she should be training all Hilton Hotel staff on how to provide great customer service! The room was clean, nicely decorated, and the bed was comfortable. They do need to keep up on maintenance, though. The wallpaper in the bathroom was starting to peel up. Other than the wallpaper, this hotel was exactly what I would expect from a Hilton brand hotel. I will definitely be back!

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel. Easy check in, friendly staff. Room was great, spacious. Small refrigerator, no freezer section.Breakfast was plenty, they even had little Nutella samples which is a huge plus for me. But they only had it on the first morning we ate breakfast here.Everything looked very modern but I really liked the little nooks they had to just sit in private or do some work on the computer. There's also a pool table downstairs.My kids loved the pool, it was warm in it which we really appreciated. The pool area could have been a little cleaner though, there was a lot of hair on the pool deck and we noticed some floating in the water too. But that's really the only thing that was bothering me, hence the 4 star review.The hotel is dog friendly, we saw at least one dog. Lots of families.The hotel is right next to a racetrack, we didn't hear anything from it so I don't know how it will effect the noise if there are actually races going on.Wheel chair accessable.I would stay here again!

Do Better! This hotel is a disgrace to the Hilton brand. Poorly cared for property, lacks in cleanliness & upkeep. The Manager &/or Staff are obviously prompting people to leave these glowing reviews because overall I'd give this place a 3 at most! & THAT'S being generous. Our room was poorly cleaned, floors evidently not cleaned well, the desk chair was filthy in the crevices, the shower floor felt oily, the mattress foundation under the headboard was dirty... crumbs, someones cut finger nail, a key card... all evidence that housekeeping is NOT doing their jobs or a piss poor job at best. The tv wasn't working when we got there, it took them over 30 mins. to come to the room to fix the issue, he couldn't fix the issue, said he'd be back with another box, another remote I suppose is what he was referring to... he never returned. We had to ask again, about an hour later. Oh, we requested an early check in at our initial booking, they wanted to charge us $50 for that. Where's the Hospitality!?! This place is the pits! 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND honestly! I gave a two because it's not a roach motel & being a Hilton brand I expected A LOT better! Was terribly disappointed.Rooms: Small, not cleanNoteworthy details: Terrible, lazy staff. Lack luster property.

Great location off i95. Whether you’re going to the racetrack or looking for a place to call it a night before dealing with DC traffic, this is a good spot. The rooms are good but a little wear and tear is showing up (the blackout curtains were ripped in my room). The staff were really nice and helpful though.Nearby activities: Across the road from the Dominion Raceway and close to i95.

If you’re looking for a hotel all points south of Northern VA this is the hotel! I stayed here overnight on my way to Richmond and I was able to beat the DMV traffic the next day. Bonus, it’s right next to a NASCAR trac, so if you’re into racing, you can see the trac from your hotel, no tickets required! Moreover, I love Cookout, and there is one within five minutes! Would highly recommend to my friends and family.On an aside, the rooms are a bit small, so if you’re looking to work from home this may not be the place for you. Finally, the breakfast is standard/okay.

My experience was very good the location is right off the highway. The room was clean I just like how you need to request room cleaning instead of being daily. There was breakfast which is a pro for me. But it’s not like luxurious it’s basic and that’s okay. I loved the free WiFi and that the tv actually works! So overall I loved this stay :)

I loved this place, my granddaughter wanted to go to the lantern festival for her birthday. I got a room here ahead of time. The festival was canceled so I called the hotel to see if we could have a small pool party. They said of course no problem. It was November and they have an indoor pool. Everything worked out perfect they offered for everyone to stay over and have breakfast in the AM. I kept the children for a sleep over and they got up at 5 30 am for sprinkle pancakes freshly made by a cute little machine. The front desk attended made them hot cocoa with whip cream and sprinkles. She was a sweetheart to them. Thank you Tru for turning a 5 year olds dream birthday that almost got ruined by the festival cancelation into a memorable pool party for a few small children. It's the little things that count.Rooms: Super nice and clean, very spaciousNearby activities: Right next to the racetrack.

I was torn between 3 and 4 stars. Clean hotel, room was good but shower head leaked. It's $1 in plummers tape, guys, scratches head. Breakfast is diced hotdogs and eggs. They have a mini waffle machine,some cereal, and juice. Not horrible, but sliced hotdogs isn't much of a protein. Free tea and coffee. Small grab and pay food, no bar.It is important to note that this place is literally right next to a Nascar track. It can be loud if they are racing. Very ridgid booking policy.Rooms: Rooms have a nice TV. Modern, clean, power blackout curtains.

Very clean hotel! Well worth the money! We will definitely stay here again. It was a little drive for us from Kings Dominion but well worth the drive. Rooms were clean and well stocked. The breakfast bar attendant was awesome . She made sure everything was stocked and working correctly. A+++Food & drinks: The breakfast was very good.

The hotel is well appointed, clean in a good location off of Route 95 and would be a great stay. HOWEVER, it is not disclosed that it literally sits next to Dominion Raceway. So, if you are there when the racetrack is running, all you hear on Friday night is the 4 cylinder cars ripping engines around the track. They do put ear plugs in the rooms which should have clued me in. Be aware.

The lobby was clean, and the breakfast was average. Rubber eggs are interesting... The room was good, though walls were thin. Car 1 elevator sounds like it's going to fall apart. The pool table only had 1 cue with a tip, and aside from 1 corner pocket, the table was well kept. The staff was cool, but the manager didn't seem to want to be there. Large TV with decent selection of channels. Pillow selection was good.Rooms: Get an even number room to see the races at the track.Walkability: Cut through the field to sheetz or cross the private road to the race track.

Great service, price and really nice rooms! My only complaint is that they didn’t empty the trash can in the bathroom and there was something moldy building up underneath all of the soap/shampoo dispensers in the shower and by the bathroom sink. That was pretty nasty. I’m sure it’s just something they missed as it’s hard to notice it.Nearby activities: There’s a race track nearby, a Sheetz for coffee in the morning and a few other small stores.

This is a nice hotel! The rooms are smallish but clean. The location off of I95 is convenient. One issue though is the proximity to a car racetrack next door. If racing is on, don’t get a room at the front of the hotel. The noise level is a definite concern. Other than that, the accommodations were great. The hotel does have a pool, exercise room, and a complimentary breakfast so that’s a bonus.

Basic hotel with basic amenities.The hotel sits next to the Nascar track, which makes it fun to watch the cars go around the track and annoying when you want quiet to sleep. More attention to cleaning detail is needed from the housekeeping staff.Pros- The staff is amazing! Danetter, provided excellent customer service. Very attentive.- Breakfast was a basic Hilton things. It was hot and the pancake maker was interesting to watch.Cons- Snack area had limited options.- The room didn't have a microwave.- The room I selected wasn't ready at check in.- Walls are thin. You don't want to know what was happening in the room next to me.- Beds are uncomfortable, pillows aren't great either.- No self service laundry area on site- Sink was slow to drain and got worst as my stay progressed- Limit t.v. selections and no ability to cast to t.v.- The side door has a tricky lock that you have to pull the handle up on the open. But the door springs back so fast before you enter it caught my elbow a few times.- Mini fridge froze everything I put in it and there were left over items from the previous guest still in there.- While the hotel is nice its not adequately cleaned.- My ac unit leaked water 4 of the 14 nights I stayed.

Nice stop when driving the 95. Watching the cars practice on the NASCAR racetrack was a bonus. Well illuminated areas and parking surrounding the hotel give a safe feeling...just pretty dark getting there. Breakfast protein offerings should be improved. Very clean. Helpful staff. Had an abundance of USB charging slots in the room. Great TV.

The shower had mold in it and I didn't know that until I took a shower later that night. I told the hotel manager the following morning, took pictures, and showed them the pictures. There response was to contact the company that booked my stay. However, that had nothing to do with the mold in the shower. Hilton is the hotel I stayed at and I will file a complaint with Hilton's corporate office. Giving this 2 stars because it wasn’t a completely terrible experience. The hotel looks new and the rooms were clean with basic accommodations. The bed was comfortable.We requested a crib during booking and it wasn’t in the room when we arrived. Someone brought it to the room 10 minutes later, but what they brought was a folded pack n play in the case that we had to assemble ourselves, without any pillows or blankets. Just the shell of a crib with a very hard sleeping surface. If you wouldn’t put your guests in a room that had a bed with just the mattress, then why isn’t the same care afforded to babies/toddlers?Breakfast was subpar. We know Hilton can do much, much better. The scrambled eggs were dry and chewy and their fancy pancake machine wasn’t working. The cheerios were stale. The toaster didn’t toast very well. The only item I felt safe giving my son was the prepackaged yogurt. We left and ate breakfast elsewhere.The A/C in the room was noisy, and one of the elevators makes a terrible grinding noise.Overall, we wouldn’t return.

As a Hilton Honors Gold member, this place is an absolute embarrassment. Shower leaked onto the bathroom floor, or actually flooded is a better description. No coffee maker or microwave in the room. Frig was tiny and not very cold. On top of that, people sitting in the parking lot booming their high bass car stereos. Asked front desk to do something, of course nothing was done and it went on for over an hour. Three night stay and did not get turn down service once the entire time. This is just not what is expected from Hilton.

The highway is a little noisy at night, a lot of trucks engine breaking off of the highway. Otherwise a good pitstop while traveling.Noteworthy details: Immaculately clean and very comfortable beds.

We loved our stay at Tru while we visited Kings Dominion. The room was clean and spacious with a nice view of Dominion raceway track. The only knock against this place was no dresser to put your clothes away and not enough hook to hang wet clothes on after a dip in the pool. If you don’t mind living out of your suitcase for a few days I highly recommend Tru by Hilton.

This place is beautiful. I enjoy the ambiance and the room was great. Despite the challenges that blackout shades pose with opening and closing them, ours worked.Conveniently located next to Dominion Raceway, the selection of places to eat are about 6-8 miles away or 15-20 minutes away if you want options.There's lots to do at this hotel if you're spending a few nights here; aside from a pool, there's a pool table, board games, a gym, and TV in the lobby. You can also go out to Dominion Raceway for any live events they hold.

We are very familiar with Hilton hotels (Hilton Honors members) and we usually have a great experience with the Tru line. This one seemed like a great place for an overnight in the area. Unfortunately we had a terrible experience - it was beyond filthy.To start on a positive, I will say the hotel itself has nice amenities (pool table, games, etc.). The location next to the track is also neat if you are into that as you can see the races from the room windows depending on where you are. The gentleman working the desk was very helpful and kind.The bad however, it was bad. Honestly this hotel being so new I didn’t think cleanliness would be a factor but as soon as we walked in our room we learned otherwise. Crumbs, hairs, and something spilled all over the night stand. The bed had hairs in it. The desk had some blue sticky substance all over it. The shower had a long dark female’s hair all over the wall (not matching anyone in my family, we hadn’t even walked in there yet). Beard hairs all in the sink. Hardly no TP on the roll. It was beyond just a little dirty, it looked like it had never been cleaned from previous guests, just the beds made. We decided to pick up all of our bags and even though it was already 9pm try to see if they could move us to a clean room. The gentleman at the desk was very helpful and apologized. He said there was only one other room and it was marked dirty at the moment but he would go clean it for us himself. We were very grateful that he helped us but this poor guy shouldn’t have had to do that. After reading some of the additional comments on here, it appears cleanliness has been an issue for others too. We aren’t super picky people but also, when you pay what you do for a room you at least want it cleaned before you get there. Please work with your housekeeping staff to make sure they are doing what they should be so other staff like this young gentleman that worked the desk doesn’t have to do what he did again in the future. Kudos to him for going above and beyond for helping us change rooms so late at night.
