My Great Dane, Beau, has stayed at Little River Farm twice now for boarding and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Their space has huge grassy fenced in play areas that are perfect for my giant breed baby! They send updates on how he’s doing and the happiest pictures of Beau running through the yard. I even drive an hour to use this facility because of the amazing ratings and reviews. I will definitely be using LRF again! Also, the 2nd time I dropped him off, he jumped out of the car, tail wagging!

If you’re looking for an extremely well-kept, safe and orderly environment, then this is the place to board your pets. Little River is a wonderful option for kennel stays. It’s small enough to have individual care for each dog, but the play and sleep areas are huge. My homebody dog seems to thrive under Amanda’s care. Everything is well organized and professional.Update: Kallie stayed here this past week. She had a medical emergency while there and Amanda and Chris went above and beyond to take care of our girl. They kept me informed the whole time and made sure our girl was as comfortable as she could be. She’s all good now and ready for her next visit to Little River in a few weeks.

Oatmeal (my dog) and I absolutely love Little River Farm! This is always where he will go if I ever need boarding for the lil guy. Amanda is very personable and cares deeply for every dog she watches. The kennels are kept clean and the dogs have A TON of room to run and play. I will always recommend them for anyones boarding needs!

My girl stayed at Little River Farm for the first time over the Christmas holiday. Amanda was super responsive and very professional when we dropped her off. She sent text and video updates multiple times. When I went to pick up, my dog had eaten all her food (a first for when she's been boarded), and seemed super happy. Our Shelby had a great stay at Little River! We were impressed by the extremely clean and well maintained kennel and large play areas. The owners get to know the dogs and place them in groups where they will have fun and be safe for play. There is screening ahead of time for all the proper safety and health issues. We received updates with pictures while we were away. Not too far from Blacksburg, and I was happy to make the trip, knowing Shelby would be in such a nice place and in good care.

I am so happy that I found Little River Farm to board my dog with, they were so easy to deal with, super sweet and friendly. Absolutely loved getting pictures and updates from them, No surprise charges when I picked up my dog. (I had surprise charges in the past at another establishment). I will definitely be back!!!!!!

I highly recommend Little River Farm! My Bloodhound stayed for a week and was very well taken care of. Amanda was responsive, friendly and professional! She kept me updated on Arley’s stay which was greatly appreciated! The property is gorgeous and I’ll definitely feel comfortable leaving Arley there in the future!

Chris was wonderful and thoughtful. He texted us daily to let us know how our English Springer (Cuppy) was doing. It was a joy to find her warm, healthy and happy upon our return. She even turned around and thanked him as we were leaving……. Wow.

Our 2 labs were so happy during their first stay at Little River Farm! Amanda was extremely accommodating and texted us multiple updates during their stay. We boarded them for 12 days so it was an extended holiday. They were both happy and healthy upon pickup. We couldn’t be more pleased to find such a wonderful place to board them and will definitely be using Little River Farm again!

Little River Farm is a wonderful pet boarding facility, they have large dog play areas, that are very well fenced, and safe.Amanda kept me updated about my 2 dogs, by text and photos.My dogs aren't the easiest to handle, but she took extra time to get to know them, and they all became friends.So, I have to say, this is a great safe place, very reasonable price and caring owners.Thanks for taking care of my dogs, John Doyle.

Little River Farm, LLC was awesome to work with and cared greatly for our pups. We have a 13yr old lab mix and a 14mo young shepherd mix pup. They updated us daily and sent pics of our pups with the other dogs. Our older pup even had an unexpected medical issue on our second day away which Amanda and Chris handled wonderfully. With the help of our vet and family members getting medicine to the kennel, we were able to continue our vacation knowing she was being wonderfully cared for until we returned. We would highly recommend their boarding services if you ever need a place for your dog(s) to stay!!

Our dog had a great time at Little River Farm! We were a little anxious since this was her first boarding experience but all our worries were quickly alleviated once we dropped her off. There is plenty of space for the dogs to run and play and the owner was very kind. We got an update with pics the first night which was greatly appreciated. What an amazing business and resource for those needing dog care. Little River Farm's boarding service is run by two caring professionals who are also excellent business people. This couple provides thorough instructions from the earliest encounter including scheduled tours to visit the farm to check in for your beloved doggo. Further, they send text updates that offer comfort especially for first timers like me. I am delighted to know my fur baby will be in good hands whenever I have to travel. I brought my dog Dani to stay at Little River Farm after some not so great experiences with other kennels and I'm so glad I found them! Amanda asked lots of questions about vaccines, preventatives and temperaments that made me feel comfortable about the other dogs who would be staying at the kennel at the same time as mine. She also invited me to tour the kennels and answered all my questions. The farm itself is beautiful and my dog had a blast playing with the other dogs. Amanda sent me multiple texts over the weekend with updates including pictures and even one video! I will definitely be taking Dani back there whenever I have to go out of town! I know my dog enjoyed her "vacation" just as much as I enjoyed my trip!

My pups have stayed at Little River Farm a couple of times now. Amanda is very professional, her facility is top notch and she communicates well - even sends pictures of my babies while we are away from them. They get excited when we arrive to drop them off AND they come home exhausted from their playtime with other dogs at Little River. Clean kennels (with heat during cold nights) and her rate includes her providing the dog food. Highly recommend!

Just like leaving your baby at Grandma's house! I've boarded other dogs at kennels in town and Little River Farm is a completely different experience. My girl lives on acreage and has never been fenced, let alone boarded. So, when I needed someone to watch her while I was out of town for 8 days, I was super nervous. Amanda and Chris put me and my girl at ease. They explained the process for dropping off and picking up, their daily routines, and showed us the facilities. When I dropped her off, all the other dogs were clean and happy playing in the huge yard. While I was away, they were super responsive with text updates and sent me pics of my babygirl playing with the other dogs. When I picked her up, Amanda spent time giving me the full run down on how she did with the other dogs and the daily routine. While we were chatting, I could see that my girl had developed a fondness for Amanda; and, that right there told me that she was well-loved and well cared for while I was away. I cannot recommend Little River Farm highly enough. Next time I leave town, my girl will be staying with Amanda!

Cleo.Little River went far beyond our expectations.Amanda is great with the dogs and kept us updated daily throughout Cleo's visit with texts ,videos and pics. On a family vacation in Virginia, my parents dog and my dog did NOT get along. I found Little River Farm, and Amanda immediately was accommodating. She was able to take my pup in the same day. Amanda sent photos and texts with updates each day, and I knew my dog was in the best hands. He had his own little kennel (both inside and outside access), and ran around with a bunch of other dogs on their beautiful fenced in farm. I almost felt bad picking him up because I knew he had the best time!! I would happily board my pup with Little River Farm again.

Little River Farm is a great place to board! We've boarded our dog there twice, and he had plenty of room to run around and other dogs to play with, and he came home happily worn out. We LOVE Little River Farm!!!! The owners are very caring and send us pictures of our dog having fun! Sometimes I wonder if he wants us to pick him up!! Such a great feeling to know that your fury family member is being well taken care of while you are away. If you can't take your fur baby with you, then this is the place for you to leave them. We love Little River Farm!! I don't plan to use any other boarding services if I can help it. I love that the kennels allow the dogs to come in and outside but still be safely fenced in. They play yard is huge and able to accommodate dogs who want to run and play, and my little guy who sometimes just wants to hang out on his own. Amanda and her family are so attentive and are very communicative during my dog's stays.

We are so happy with our experience with Little River Farm; our dog is a little shy at first, and they were so attentive to her. They made sure to help her get comfortable and encouraged her to interact with everyone. She ended up having a great time and since her first visit, she’s always so excited to be back! Amazing place! My dog Barney stayed 2 days & 2 nights and had a blast. Got him back home and I think he slept for two days straight. He definitely used up all that puppy energy while he was there.. he was a happy and tired pup! I highly recommend boarding your dog here. Our dog is very anxious at first. They took the time to get to know him and make him feel comfortable! He loved them so much! They sent us updates daily and also sent us pictures! It made me so happy to know that my baby was well taken care of and loved. In every text message they included how much they loved him and what a sweet boy he was. My dog has spent two weekends at Little River Farm this summer, with another one soon to be scheduled. The owners are knowledgeable and caring. They ask all the right questions about vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, temperament, etc which demonstrates their commitment to running a quality facility. A large enclosed outdoor area gives the dogs plenty of space to run, play, and enjoy the fresh mountain air. The kennel runs are clean and well-maintained. I won’t board my dog anywhere else now that we’ve found Little River Farm!
