I have never given a bad google review but I felt this was needed. The reviews for this business are not up to date. What was previously a 5 star establishment - Southern Charm - has since been bought out and you should not expect a 5 star experience. Unfortunately, I assumed my dog and myself would be receiving similar care when choosing to continue business with them but I was wrong. The groomer is much less experienced than the previous owners. Despite that, I was truly disappointed with their ability to take accountability in their wrong doings to my dog while under their care. When I arrived to pick up my dog after receiving a full grooming package I was not greeted. Instead, I watched as the groomer and assistant grabbed and wetted towels and took them to the back, as if wiping down a dog, which I could only assume was mine. I was eventually given a wave and a very stuttered “uh uh we’ll be with you in a second”. The groomer then came out and simply asked me to wait in the car. Of course, I had to pry and ask if everything was ok? She again gave me a stuttered answer, stating my dog “had gotten into something” and needed to be “washed off again”. This seemed odd, as I know they keep her in a crate when done with grooming and waiting to be picked up. I again had to pry, asking what she got into? It was then very oddly explained that she had “what looks like blood” all over her face and ears and they did not know where it was coming from. She was checked for cuts and she did not have any. It was discovered that she was bleeding from the thin bits at the bottoms of her ears due to excessive shaking. I was told by the groomer this was likely just irritation from the very short cut they had to give her. Nonetheless, I am in a busy season of life and had to be somewhere that evening and ended up paying an overcharged price and taking my blood stained dog home, thinking it would settle down. She continued to bleed over the next 24 hours and then started oozing from her ear. She had developed an ear infection from what I assume was water and/or irritant being left in her ear. This has required drops to heal. I inquired about a refund and was given $25 back only as a result of being charged the wrong price in the first place, which they would not have known or given me had I not reached back out. They took no accountability for their actions in my dogs care and never once apologized. They sent a message that included a bold face lie and even tried to blame me for the care of my dog. That is why I am writing this review. I am happy there are now other options for grooming in town but am very disappointed in my experience with Gussied Up’s Grooming.

Karen and Autumn were wonderful to work with. They took great care of my dog and he looks so beautiful after a full groom. The atmosphere is very calming and you can tell that they have a passion for what they do. My dog has never acted this calm at a groomer before. I am so happy I found this place and I will continue to be a loyal customer.

Took mine and my wife’s dog Hyde here and the staff was super friendly and very welcoming, Hyde came home smelling good! Very pleased !

My Connor is a very large 18 month old German Shepherd. He is a sweet and gentle soul but full of energy and mischief. Karen at SCPG is an excellent technician and handler who has taken him in hand and given him a wonderful grooming. Connor has no stress and goes with Karen easily. Five stars for this terrific service!

1st time visit, took our multipoo there, who's a rescue and very anxious. When I pulled up for pick up she was sitting there quietly allowing the grooming to take place. That speaks volumes of the care that they take with the dogs. This will be our regular place for grooming now instead of having to drive into Christiansburg.

I’ve never been this satisfied with a groomer as Southern Charm! My last groomer made my dogs hair looked like she took a pair of sissors 2 him! HORRIBLELOVE THESE LADIES @ Southern Charm, my dog will NOT go anywhere else
