This is the heart of downtown Floyd, VA... restaurant, soda fountain and adorable country store. We experienced the joy of all three during our weekend visit - grilled cheese and tomato soup lunch hit the spot (with baked goods to-go), ice cream and root beer float was the evening treat and then we (been there, done that) bought the t-shirt in the store. The Friday night jamboree was a fun scene to watch, and we enjoyed the independent jam bands on the street as well. Very cool vibe! Love supporting local.

From what I understand this store used to be the center of attraction for Floyd, just what I was told. What I saw when I was there was a fairly interesting old style store. What really did it though was the prices on food... $8 for grilled cheese and soup? $9 BLT? We tried the Reuben my fiancee used to love and it wasn't the same. Also tried the cran-turkey sandwich, which well, tasted like thanksgiving. I was disappointed that the price tags these dishes have come with plain lays chips on the side. I would almost accept the price if they had homemade chips, the bagged chips accent to the dish just took so much away from everything. The desserts were pricey but very good. Really enjoyed the brownie made with dark chocolate, that was fantastic.

Best place to be on a Friday evening. Family atmosphere, ages toddler through 90, great music, outstanding food, most positive vibe anywhere. So much more music throughout the week.

Charming shop in downtown Floyd. Friendly staff and a real soda fountain! Where else can you get Pintos and Cornbread or Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup? Right here!Perfectly laid out with a sit down cafe and stage for entertainment. We will be back this fall.Recommended.

Neat place. Great food. Great people. Excellent music. Plenty of seating on some days. Large selection of gifts, souvenirs and candy. The store is on the street so walking to from parking is a must like most places in Floyd.

Outing for the whole family. Great food, warm people and awesome entertainment. They have been having Friday night Jamboree for 40 years. Great music , singing and dancing. Yes I am an African American and enjoyed every bit and did not feel out of place.

Beautiful hometown country store with great music. (I primarily go on Thursdays for the Texas Roadhouse, but they often have Bluegrass on the weekends.) They also offer dance lessons and I think music lessons (or you can find them on the flyer board by the bathrooms).Their healthy/wholesome food choices, desserts, and old time candy selection are reminiscent of a time when family and community were central to everyday life.If you're looking for some old-time, slow paced, wholesome family fun with a community full of inclusion and acceptance... THIS is the place to go.Floyd, in general, is full of small businesses, artisans, and local goodness. Not a tourist trap bougie kind of town, more like a throw back to another time where you sit on the front porch with the old folks and let their wisdom sink in deep... but filled with modern knowledge, skills, and country craftsmanship.

So fun to watch the jamboree inside and the musicians up and down the street. The first hour is gospel and the final 3 hours are for dancing. Busy place, but they serve food quite quickly. The cheddar biscuits are FANTASTIC! The Brunswick Stew was good and the bread on the chicken salad sandwich was delicious! There isn't a lot of seating inside, but there is a nice patio outside. There is also a nice playground that you can see from the patio.

Floyd country store is worth the trip to Floyd VA alone. Just to be able to experience the music is a joy. The people hear are extremely nice and the food is great. Love the biscuits and gravy 😋. Just look up their website to see their schedule for upcoming events. Usually every weekend. This is our second trip with friends and we weren't disappointed at all. Already planning another trip from South Carolina. The town is pretty nice and well worth the trip. Special thanks to all the Musicians who come and play here so we can enjoy your music. Can't wait for our return trip 🤗.

Floyd Country Store is a Fine FindOur family took a drive down to Floyd from Christiansburg on this Fourth of July to visit this little slice of Americana. The store is situated in the middle of its namesake town, Floyd, about a half an hour south of I-81. We went there for lunch and to take in what downtown Floyd had to offer. The store is a conglomeration of a sandwich shop, dessert shop, candy store, soda fountain, and an eclectic assortment of various merchandise. To top it all off, it turns into a live music venue on a weekly basis. That said, we were here for lunch and to shop around. While they do have an assortment of local comfort food, our crew opted for a few of their sandwiches, all of which were very tasty. I had the cran-turkey sandwich, which is a grilled turkey, cheese, onion, and cranberry sauce sandwich…very good tasting. We finished up with a couple of homemade desserts - key lime pie and apricot-almond cheesecake, plus a sampling from then ice cream shop. If you are in the general area, it is worth the visit.

Ignore the recent review with someone complaining about the increased prices. Show me ONE restaurant that has not gone up. This is a neat country store and I am glad we finally made it here. Music was good and the milkshake I had next door was incredible. If going anywhere near this town you need to stop.

It was one of the most memorable and beautiful places I've ever visited. I'm from Texas, but move to N.C. I had the blessing to visit this beautiful country place before going back home to Texas again. I recommend it! The food is phenomenal and the environment is sublime.

Absolutely incredible operation in southern Virginia. Enjoyed a great dinner and concert, and came back the next day to listen to a jam session. Definitely worth making the drive to Floyd to visit the Country Store and enjoy Appalachia.

My wife and I were there for the Old Timey Music Jam session and Bluegrass Jam session too. We noticed some nice food dishes but we had already eaten. Walk through to the next door for the best ice cream.

A MUST SEE in SW Virginia!!! Live Bluegrass Music…ALL DAY, EVERY DAY! The Floyd Country Store hosts (and streams on YouTube) their Bluegrass Jamboree; a weekly event each Friday night which includes local-style dancing!) Sunday’s at 4pm they have a Bluegrass Jam Circle for novices to sit in on and play with locals. The store gives space for local artisans selling handcrafted items and farm to table goods. We found an old time microphone, made from our home state of Oregon, specifically for Bluegrass musicians! To top it all off….they have a Soda Fountain/Ice Cream parlor adjacent and attached! Don’t miss this gem!

Kind of a tourist trap with lots of overpriced items and $9 milkshakes. The food is just paninis and other kind of lackluster fare. The baked goods are *excellent* and really reasonable though, and it's a fun atmosphere with music playing whenever I've gone in.

The experience of enjoying blue grass and the different bands is worth the visit every single time. However, the food has to be less desirable. First, the prices for the items don't match the quality nor the amount of food provided.Fancy chaulkboard graphics with no follow through in delivering a promise of artisan food. The sandwiches are pricey, with toddler portions, bread soaked, soggy ingredients that shouldn't be wet, and taste that it's bland with no real flavor. There is no real effort in caring how the product is delivered to the customer. The bacon greens had a great taste, but once again, the portion equals toddler size for what you pay. Now we wanted to enjoy the desserts and they look amazing. German chocolate cake was delicious, and the portion matched the price, like everything their size portion for keylime pie was no bigger than a reese cup and a dash of whip cream. Disappointment with the pie was just ridiculous. The young lady needs more training as she seemed bothered to deal with the public. Simple request seems like life ending with the staff rolling their eyes just to request spoons for our desserts. Overall, I wouldn't invest in eating at the location due to the fact that the prices dont match the quality of the ingredients nor the portions. Food would be 1 stars, in my opinion. The atmosphere is a 4. Next time, I will bring something to enjoy from Food Lion and save my capital for a real restaurant that gives equal balance to all areas.$46 dollars gets you two sandwiches (Ruben, BBQ pork), a small cup of bacon greens, small side salad, $1 pickles (the best part of the meal) and you guessed it, left you pissed that you choose to eat here.$12 (German cake, keylime) Dessert are $5 average, which was separate. Overall, I wouldn't invest in eating here. We tried out of convenience due to traveling from out of town. This place needs to do a real self review of how these prices, ingredients, and portions dont match the atmosphere, leaving one with a bad taste of the whole experience. The worst part was that everything was drenched in water, soggy chips, and no, it's not pickle juice. Staff need serious training all around when serving the public.Paid artisan prices but got nothing back in return. It's truly embarrassing. Recap the pickles, and the German cake had the only enjoyment during the whole experience.

What a great time! The New Year’s Eve celebration was so much fun! The music was great and the dancing cannot be beat. Every hour there was a fun raffle. The staff are fun and friendly- they helped us find a seat since it was so crowded. I will be back! What a wonderful, family friendly New Year’s Eve.

Awesome music venue! Square dancing, line dancing, and good old fashioned fun on the weekend. Homemade food, ice cream, and craft soda sold here along with novelties and instruments! They renovated the place and it looks really nice! More open and less stuffy, in my opinion. Great service.

We have eaten here many times and have always been pleased with the fresh selection of sandwiches, soups, and baked goods. The price is very reasonable for the quality and quantity. My favorite is a soda machine that serves cream soda and real root beer. The staff has always been attentive and polite. We miss the indoor concerts but really enjoyed the backyard concert this last weekend, the setting sun in the background was beautiful. It's nice to see something that stays consistent with all the change going on. Thanks to the staff who continue to work so hard to keep this business open when others are having to shut their doors, it is appreciated and does not go unnoticed.

A fantastic experience. We went to see my son and his friend play in the Sunday bluegrass jam circle. SO glad we did! This store is a charming, must-see. The circle is a delightful blend of talented, happy to play musicians. We were thoroughly delighted. We shopped a little and sat down to enjoy some chili and cornbread all while happily listening to the joyous music. Everyone was friendly and down to earth, real people it was my pleasure to meet. So wonderful to see people enjoying their own and each other's talent. Definitely going back!!!
