I truly believe this place is actual heaven on earth. I loved every single thing about it. I would have thought I was at a Michelin star restaurant with the quality of the service! I can’t recall if the general manager’s name was Gundars or something similar but he was so wonderful. Incredibly thoughtful and accommodating. We sampled the red wines first (ended up buying two bottles of the black dog) then ate our appetizers. The Brussel sprouts were the best I’ve had in a long time. Then a flight of whites; my favorite was the 2021 oaked Chardonnay. I had the duck confit for dinner and thought it was perfect. So tender, so moist, it fell right off the bone. My mother in law enjoyed her shrimp and grits and my husband liked his pasta as well! They wished the onions were cooked longer in the French onion soup, but that was the only critique I heard at the table. For desert, we got a flight of the sweet wines (we LOVED Our Dog Blue and bought a bottle of that as well) and the chocolate torte which was also fantastic. And I haven’t even mentioned that we had three dogs with us! We haven’t been to this area before but I can guarantee we will be back specifically to return to Chateau Morrisette

I think I died and went to (dog) heaven! I'm not a huge wino, but we stumbled upon this place after a much needed break from hiking. Upon entering, we felt a little underdressed (it was a magical castle), but that seemed to go unnoticed. We were quickly greeted by the big dog himself and taken inside. We were able to sample a few wines before deciding on a favorite (which is hard considering they were all delicious). My toddler even got to sample their finest juice box. My girls were able to be their fun, playful selves while Mom and dad could kick back and enjoy a glass of white wine before it got warm. The customer service was phenomenal and the winery itself was beautiful. We will be back if we are ever in the area again.

Had the best experience at Chateau Morrisette winery. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. I went with my family for a tasting and tour, during our family reunion trip. The tasting and tour were marvelous, the owner herself guided us! I could tell she was very passionate about the winery and it made the experience even better. We also had the chance to eat lunch at the restaurant and wow!!! Amazing!!! Thank you to everyone who helped plan and execute this great experience for my family! We will be back. Special thanks to Angie! She’s the sweetest.

Bring your pup! One of the best wineries in Virginia. The sprawling grounds are expertly maintained. As you exit your car, you walk up to the winery through a charming courtyard where you can enjoy the view and your wine. The wine tastings are not rushed and you may even have the owner (she is so very kind and informative) facilitate your tasting.We left with a case of wine, I mean, why not?They love dogs, so much so, that they are on their label.We did not eat at the restaurant but did walk through. Its on our return list!We will be back.10 stars.

A lovely surprise find while traveling from Charlotte to Bedford! Loved the entire experience- the ambiance, the pups, the wines, and the fabulous Mr. Ray and his stories! We loved the experience so much we left with several bottles, and even had a steak dinner in the restaurant. Look forward to sharing this place with loved ones! Tip: make a reservation for the restaurant, but the winery is walk in service for tastings.

I had the pleasure of dining here for lunch while visiting my mother about a week and a half ago. Food was wonderful and our server, Sadie was truly outstanding. She’s happy and bubbly and truly enjoys her job. The way life should be! So nice to see. From the young man who seated us to dessert - all around good experience.

What a wonderful experience at the Chateau Morrisette Winery! Beautiful, elegant place to drink wine and eat with family and friends. Ryan Morrisette entertained us for our wine tasting experience. He did a wonderful job understanding what each individual liked and didn’t like in wine. We had to provide a photo with the wine and our pup to complement. Cannot wait to go back. Thank you 🍷♥️

The 6 of us decided last minute to have lunch at Chateau Morrisette. They welcomed us without a reservation. Customer service is amazing! Sadie is the absolute best! She has the ability to read the room and knew how to handle our crazy crew. We would drive 7-8 hours just to see Sadie again. Oh, the food was fantastic! Everyone at the Chateau was wonderful. They're doing something very right.

We loved the beautiful drive and loved the wine tasting. Very gracious, helpful, and knowledgeable folks. They have a great variety of wines in varied price ranges as well as discounts. We left with quite a few bottles we look forward to enjoying. This is one of the only wineries we've been to lately that has complimentary tastings, which only allows me to buy more .

We love the wines at Chateau Morrisette but was disappointed when read that no outside picnics or food was allowed. While there, several groups of people brought their own food and ate. We tried making reservations at the restaurant but it was sold out. We planned ahead and ate at Mabry Mill Restaurant which was delicious. I recommend a food truck or don’t advertise no outside food and then allow people to do that.

Beautiful winery. Tucked a way right off the Blue Ridge Parkway in the mountains. Feel like your in France, not Virginia. Wine is outstanding. Fun for the entire family especially the doggy. Music, corn hole fun, excellent outdoor patio and live music. Must visit

Lovely grounds and their sweet red is one of the few wines I actually genuinely enjoy. Their gift shop has lovely ambience and they often have fun family friendly events. I wasn't terribly impressed with the food at the restaurant. The prices were a little high in my opinion for the mediocre fare and limited selection offered, but the amazing view and the good wine is almost worth it in itself.

the owner of the winery is the nicest lady i’ve ever met. we weren’t having the best of days due to some personal things and she really went out of her way to give us an amazing experience. the wine was delicious, food at the restaurant was delicious, and the people are amazing. please go here.

Visited today with our dog Zoi. We loved Mr Ray. He spent a lot of time with us sampling wine for our flight choice. So energetic & knowledgeable about wine. Learned a lot & laughed. What a sweet guy! We bought 7 different bottles of wine. One of my favorite wineries!

Very friendly staff. They really know their wines. Highly recommend taking a tour. The building is something to see. All the wood was old. No new trees were killed. Ray was awesome. Taste testing is fun also.

Chateau Morrisette Winery was the highlight of our Blue Ridge road trip! My husband, 2 pups, and I chose to stop here after seeing they were close to Blue Ridge and are dog friendly. We showed up just in time for sunset and were amazed by how beautiful the property was. It looks like a dream. And felt that way too. The Morrisette family were all there and made sure we had the best experience. We were able to taste several wines, made rounds meeting people and dogs with our own pups, and settled by the fire with a glass of wine. Ryan taught us about the wines we tasted and the history of the winery. I was given free tastings until I found the perfect wine. We particularly loved the Petit Verdot which we got a bottle of. While warming up by the fire we got a chance to meet the rest of the lovely Morrisette family and they even offered us a cheese plate and s’mores while giving us recommendations of hikes in the area! It was truly the best experience and we were overwhelmed with gratitude for the kindness and hospitality they showed us. I would 10/10 recommended anyone to visit this gorgeous winery regardless of how far the drive is. You are guaranteed an exceptional experience. We are already looking forward to our trip back and hopefully dining at the restaurant soon!

We were traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway today and discovered Chateau Morrisette Winery. Very beautiful place, great wines and very nice friendly people. We were traveling with our dog and she was welcomed there as well.

Have been coming to this winery for 7 years now. Beyond worth the 5.5 hour drive every time. Ask for Julie, she will always take good care of you! Make sure you go to the neighboring restaurant when you visit the winery!They also just released a new menu, and its exquisite!

My friend I and lived in Virginia for a short amount of time but we quickly became regulars here! The staff are beyond friendly and welcoming, they are also extremely dog friendly which my dog George greatly appreciated. 10/10 recommend! Food and wine are spectacular with amazing views, can’t beat it!
