I am a former volunteer of this no-kill pet adoption shelter. It's a wonderful, loving place for dogs and cats needing caring adoptive homes. Staff and volunteers here are compassionate and responsible guardians of all the sweeties living here. ❤️ ❤️❤️

The people here are incredibly disorganized and terrible at communicating. I had put in an application to adopt a cat and never received any call back. I went back in a week after submitting my adoption application to make sure everything was OK only to be told that 1. They never saw my application (despite me filling it out at the location, in person) and 2. The cat that I was interested in had already been adopted. Furthermore, the first lady I had spoken to (who was a very sweet lady) said that they wanted me to bring my dog in to the shelter to meet the cat that I was interested in to make sure they got along before proceeding with the adoption. Today, I brought my dog in and was practically ridiculed by the lady working there. She was incredibly rude, condescending, and mean. I sincerely hope that they don't treat the animals under their care the same way that they treat potential adopters. Do better, LAP.

Adopted a dog from here about a week ago. We were told by multiple people that she was about 5 months old and that she still has some growing to do. Took her to the vet today, and he said she was definitely over a year old. We still love her but just wanted to let people know what could happen if they have size, age, and breed preferences when adopting a dog from here.

My special needs son dog was taken and they would not talk to me, all Pat Shaver did was block me from calling. So now I have lawyers and courts getting involved and she did not care to know what happened to him or nothing as he was a very abused dog before we got him. My son took very good care of him as I helped him. She even lied about his age he is 15 years old and belonged to someone my mother was friends with. It is a shame that people have to lie about stuff when they know nothing about the history and want to keep a special needs child dog from him and the dog is registered to my son as a service animal so hopefully we get justice so with our dog back home where he belongs. I even tried reaching out to the people who had got him with no response from Her or her husband. All i was asking for was some respect and courtesy from them and did not receive that. So please look some where else go get a sweet dog out of animal shelter and give them a chance.

I adopted my dog PJ 12 years ago. I was very happy that they were very particular before the adoption. That tells alot about how much they care and I for one am glad. My best friend recently passed away and I cannot think of a better way to honor her memory than to adopt again from the same place.

If you inquire about a pet and give your vet info and pet names so they can do preliminary check (the very same day they ask, on a weekday), and in the meantime if the pet is adopted, they don't email or call you back. So you're left to assume (a) the vet didn't give a good report (which in my case would've been a glowing report), (b) the pet was adopted out, or (c) the pet died. Whatever the case, you're left to wonder cuz they sure as heck aren't going to contact you to let you know. Tempted to say go somewhere else but unfortunately they have animals that need someone to love them. For me, I went somewhere else that's a little more thoughtful and follows through and will be an extreme case if I contact them ever again. I had my heart set on a dog and in one day they broke it, left me hanging wondering why I never got contacted again.

We wanted information on a pet, but they told us to find another shelter. The lady told us they had a 50 mile delivery but we were too far and we were only 40 miles.
