I meant to make this post a long time ago. This place is your diamond in the rough. You can come here and eat and if you're like me.You can remember when I Was a child, the Cafe used to be fieldale grocery, When Howard used to run it AKA Popeye. A lot of history here. I grew up with my parents carpet shop to the left Decades ago. If I want the perfect burger and Fries, this is where I go. For the best country breakfast in town, this is where I go. Real scratch gravy, which is something advertised all over this town, But nobody has it. There is even hillbilly's in Bassett. They make theirGravy by melting butter and cooking onions it then adding flour and milk. It's absolutely horrible. A lot of places advertise homemade country food. And when you go to these places you find out there's nothing homemade or country about it. A lot of these country restaurarts have Hateful snappy servers. At fielddale cafe, these ladies who have been busting it out for years and years make you feel absolutely wonderful! The youngServers are lazy and don't have much of a personality but the older ones are fantastic ! And talk about fast! these ladies get the job done and leave a trail of smoke behind them. After all these words, you might get the idea that this is the place where you need to come eat. The Reason This place is so awesome Is because there is a secret weapon they have here. They're the onlyOnes to have this secret weapon. If all the other restaurants Had this secret, then they would all be doing much better. I might get in a little trouble, but I'm gonna tell you what it is. It's called a Timmy. If you have a Timmy, then it's guaranteed You're going to have better than average food. On average, If you have a Timmy, your food is going to be pretty close to fantastic! fantastic burgers, gravy and biscuitsAll the specials. When he is working, you're going to get really, really good food. When he isn't working, it's just so so. If you want the best country food in Martinsville and Henry County, you need to make sure to get to the cafe before 3 everyday. breakfast is served All day. You might be able to find a Timmy on Amazon. Or eBay, but it's not gonna be this kind of Timmy. As far as I'm concerned, it's the only place in the city or county where you're gonna walk away happy. Clarence's can't touch it. Hillbillys is absolutely no competition whatsoever. The convenience stores 102 or bestway can't touch it. Fieldale Cafe... The best and only scratch food in Martinsville and Henry County. 5☆ Country food. I know how to judge food Because i'm a retired five star French chef.Tony Rotenizer

Service and Food was GREAT!! DEFINITELY go back..ribeye steak sandwich cooked perfectly onion rings off the hook !! Cheeseburger was great with special seasonings

This place is great for the price and wonderful people working happy. $4.25 gets Gravy and Biscuits, two eggs and 2 pieces of bacon.One of my favorite food is every Wednesday Chicken and Dumplings with 2 vegetable s for $7.25 and choice of bread. Hint. Get the Hush -puppies. Thank you for all your care and love.Austin

This restaurant serves some of the best food for a great price. The menu differs from day to day, seems to offer items you can't find anywhere else. The meals are large and remind me of a taste of a home cooked meal. The staff and service is well worth it. They came by our table often to see if everything is okay and to refill our coffee. As a Ford fan I enjoyed the photos and other decor. If you haven't tried the Fieldale Cafe you don't know what you are missing.

Very friendly and welcome to our place atmosphere. Outstanding delicious meals and priced so your whole family can enjoy dinning out. I especially enjoy the southern fried tenderloin, eggs, and fried potatoes with onions gravey and biscuits breakfast. Yum! Yum!

My daughter was at the pool across the street and a waitress made a comment about thats why they added the rules about kids coming from the pool. I had already ordered her food and she was just getting it from me. I felt like they weren't welcome and that made me feel unwelcome as well.

My favorite place to eat out, the homestyle Southern food is comforting and delicious!The best chicken strips and coconut cake in town, I love the staff and have grown up around this place and love it.May Fieldale Cafe stay open forever! ❤️

Eat here at your own risk. Mediocre would be a huge improvement. Zero customer service, zero food quality attention and cleanliness attention. Wow bad!

A nice little cafe to stop by for lunch and what-not I enjoyed the service fast simple and straight forward.Parking: It's on the street outside the cafe and never too busy so the parking is ample.Wheelchair accessibility: You can roll a wheelchair into it fairly easily the have a ramp from parking to sidewalk.

Why did this place close? I really miss it. The staff was great, and service and food was very good!
