The pharmacist, Steve, and his team go above and beyond to ensure their patients receive the care they need. I was initially skeptical considering the low ratings, but my experience was great. Despite the negative review I believe it’s worth giving them a chance.I arrived shortly before close and felt guilty coming in last minute. They were so understaffed that they had to close the drive-thru, but took the time to treat me with dignity.Steve even took the time to ask questions to ensure that I was familiar with the medication, tolerated it well, and was not having any interactions with my other medications.

This CVS in Farmville VA has a very nice variety of merchandise, and the staff person who saw me was very friendly and asked if I needed help finding anything. I just went inside with a friend who was picking up a prescription for his elderly father. It was nice just to look around on this visit, and I definitely will be back soon to purchase some Halloween decorations or candy!

The pharmacist at CVS in Farmville is banning customers from receiving doctor prescribed medications. My husband and I have been receiving our medications since 1986 for 37 years, and now are being told that we have been banned from receiving our medication from the pharmacy. The pharmacist stated that we been banned for physical and verbal altercations with pharmacy staff which is totally fictitious. Pharmacist stated that the police were involved and police report was filed. I went to the Farmville police department, and the police officers said that the information was not true and in never happened. Pharmacist stated that our doctors were informed that we were banned from receiving medication from the pharmacy which is categorically false because I went to our doctors and said that they were never informed of our being banned from receiving medication from the pharmacist. My suspicion is that when the pharmacist number of requests for alternative request, and the physicians do not agree to the request for alternative medication. The medication is placed on hold and it is entered in your profile that you are banned from receiving medication from the pharmacy. I called CVS customer relation and they will not address this issue.

They always keep my medications stocked. Though there are a lot of new faces, even when they're in the weeds, I can still make the laugh and smile.I trust them more than Walmart Pharmacy and far more than Walgreens. The Corporation however needs to ensure that All Vaccines are readily available. I got my Shingles but had to go to Walgreens for my Covid who messed my arm up and didn't listen when I told him not to shoot me in the same arm (which is my dominant one)

If you have another choice of pharmacy, please go elsewhere! This location has the WORST pharmacists I’ve ever encountered. Very rude and hostile woman answering the phone talking to people as if she’s lost her mind. My family has had to place a grievance on this pharmacy because they are corrupt and will short you out of your medicine (insulin) and most recently they tried to get one over on my grandfather who is just starting insulin and has has been prescribed a PEN in dec of 2023 and has YET to receive his medication because this corrupt place is trying to give him a vile instead when his doctor prescribed him a pen SPECIFICALLY and when we call to let them know they have an attitude and tell us it’s the doctor and insurances fault?? I will be getting in touch with corporate for this ridiculous encounters and hopefully this store has a rehire because who knows what they’ve done to others in the area with no advocates 💔

There's a pharmacist there who hates life so bad that she takes it out on her customers/patients. I've never heard such disrespect come out of one individuals mouth. If you are looking for a GOOD pharmacy in Farmville, VA, this isnt it, used to be, but not anymore. Keep looking.

I never do these types of reviews but maybe someone will see this and teach this team some phone etiquette and customer service lessons. I've had several telephone conversations with a certain pharmacist and she is just downright rude. I accidentally hit 2 for the provider line (bc I'm used to doing that with my profession), and the pharmacist got on the phone. I went on to give my name and discuss my medication issue. She says are you a provider or a patient? I said I'm a patient. She says " You have to call the patient line" and just hangs up on me. I then called back and hit the patient line. I spoke with someone else and told them I had just called the provider line by accident and the pharmacist hung up on me and expressed that I thought that was rude and asked for the pharmacist's name on duty today. The tech then places me on hold (you know how you can tell you are on hold), but then it flips back and I can hear them talking about me in the background. I say to the tech, I can hear you talking about me and I can hear the pharmacist talking about me, as well. I asked for both of their names and the tech continued to ask for my birthday...completely brushing over the fact I heard them speaking negatively about me over the phone, I continued to ask to speak to the pharmacist. The tech then hung up, but at least she said goodbye. (FYI I never got their names but they were working around 1:25 p.m. on October 3, 2023) What is frustrating about this whole situation is that I work with the elderly and I have a little bit of medical knowledge. Is this how you treat the elderly patients of our community that use your pharmacy? Do better Farmville CVS pharmacy!!!!

I won't be back. Waited 15 mins for the pharmacy to return from lunch, then another 10 once they opened. Then, when I got to the window, as a new customer, I was told to go to the drop off window so they could enter my insurance. The rude woman at the drop off window told me I had to get back in the regular line after she entered my insurance (rather than ringing me up herself - apparently this system is what CVS management thinks is an appropriate way to care for customers). Back to the end of the other line for another 15 minutes. After finally paying, I thanked the cashier who did NOT thank me for choosing CVS. Zero customer service by the CVS employees.

They need to be nice at all times. I feel that when Susan left, they have just hired the worst customer service employees. Need more training in how to talk to costumers.

This place is a joke. This is the worst pharmacy I have ever been to in my life. Corporate CVS should do something about the way the people in the pharmacy speak to and treat people. Just look at the reviews. Horrible.

There is a female pharmacist with gray hair that yells at her patients, both over the phone and in person for simple misunderstandings, and insists that she did no such thing when you come to speak to her about the issue. Very aggressive and confrontational when someone doesn't understand what she is saying. I am certain she gets away with it as it is the only CVS within a 30 mile radius. I have never been treated with such disrespect at a pharmacy before in my entire life. I will be switching my prescriptions to Walmart from now on not to deal with this pharmacist in particular. CVS, do better with who you hire, because this ain't it.Edit 11/8/23: The way that this CVS is run is frankly scary. The staff is exhausted and overworked at all times. I'm a healthcare worker and I would honestly rather get a root canal than go here.

Called to refill my prescription at 4pm & technician was extremely curt saying that it’d be ready the next day at 9:30am because they were too busy and hung up on me. Decided to go to the drive through so I could ask them to fill it the same day because I needed it. When we got there a woman with blonde hair in a bun came to the window, & snapped at me saying “No. It won’t be ready until tomorrow.” I asked why out of genuine curiosity & got “Because we’re busy.” Went back and forth until she finally said “ MAYBE it’ll be done by the time we close. Said I’ll be back in 3 hours, when I got back to pick up they overcharged the prescription & the cashier rolled his eyes at me saying “Do you want to speak to the pharmacist?.” So the gray haired woman came out and told “Um, you need to tell us over the phone if you have a discount so you need to turn around because we need to print a new label.” First off, I don’t recall EVER having to say that I have a discount card over the phone because should’ve already been applied. This could’ve been prevented if they started off the call on a good note, I don’t know what goes on in their personal lives but don’t bring it to work? The cashier was super kind in the beginning & the other two’s attitude spread to him. He did hold himself accountable at the end, but the other two need to quit if they can’t do the bare minimum of their job.

Called to see if a medication was sent there and if ready after my spouse had pretty major surgery. I was in Richmond at the hospital and wanted to make sure before I left. The pharmacy girl answered the phone “ Thank you for calling CVS, we’re busy so please try your call again.” She hung the phone up immediately after saying this. So I drove to pick up the meds and asked a young man working the pharmacy if they normally do this and tried to explain why I had called and my spouse just had surgery and his looked annoyed that I asked and told me “ well yeah if we’re busy.” Unprofessional as hell! I’m finding another option for our meds. If had multiple trouble before with them with over charging us on meds filled. They don’t even care that they’re rude to people.

I’ve never had any problems with this CVS pharmacy, although it is clear that they are often overworked and tired. On one occasion a staff member was very helpful when I came in to get the right medications for a bee sting. I’ve also gotten flu shots and shingles vaccines at this location, and it went well. One negative comment however; on one occasion I witnessed the head pharmacist chastise her staff for not handling calls quick enough. I thought this was inappropriate.

Poor staff is exhausted. Always a very long line at the pharmacy with only 1 window and drive-thru open. Please hire more staff and give the staff working a raise.

THEY SUCK - Lines are always long. You call and wait on hold forever. (This is EVERY CVS) My dr called in a prescription on a Friday morning. They did not say anything to me until Sat afternoon that they were unable to fill it. I called Walmart to get it transferred, they said CVE leaves them on hold for 45 min. Finally get it transferred, I started the medication sun evening.

They never have my prescription in stock. This time I gave them a week ahead to refill and they put in a “special” order for it. Still no refill after a week. I used to get it same day at walmart with the name brand (which cvs doesn’t have either). Went back to walmart and got the refill the same day. What is the deal?

Got there before closing time. Waited in the drive thru line for roughly 20 mins. The pharmacy techs don't care about any of the other people that's waiting to get their meditation. They rather carry on a conversation to waste time so they can close the gate at the window.

If I could give zero stars I would. The worst. Waited in drive thru for 30 minutes, not to mention I was the third car in line. Waited and waited trying to be patient. When I pulled up to the window they act as if I wasn’t there and pulled the security shade down and locked the window and closed it down. Totally disrespectful and rude. They gotta do better.

Some employees are very rude and have no sympathy or empathy. And clearly don't know how to do thier job. I was told I need my Doctor and insurance companys approval to pay cash for a prescription that i needed immediately. I ended up back in the ER.

I can understand if you are busy that things will be a little slow, but the people that work here have no idea what they are doing. I get different answers on how to take care of a problem with receiving my prescriptions from everyone I've dealt with, and they almost never are the right answer. They seem understaffed as they are just incapable of properly servicing a majority of the people that come to them efficiently and timely. My prescriptions have been sent here, and not until I show up several hours later, thinking I've given them enough time to be filled even on a busy day, do I find out they havent even been started to be filled, and that I will have to wait another indefinite amount of time for them to be finished. The people are nice, but the service is poor. I will he transferring my prescriptions elsewhere as I refuse to deal with this location anymore.

Very unpleased with how the pharmacy dynamics are ran in this store. They are very unorganized. Had prescriptions transferred from a non cvs store and it literally took cvs 4 days to fill the prescriptions and all the prescriptions had refills on them except for one of them. In which I can understand the lengthy timing due to having to contact a Dr. for refills. On the top of the prescription paperwork it says promised on 1/11/20 here it is 1/14/20 and only got 3 of the 4 prescriptions today that were promised on 1/11/20. No one bothered to call about needing to contact the doctor or anything. When I went to the pharmacy on 1/11/20 the cashier Stephanie told me it would be 30 to 40 minutes before the prescriptions would be ready. Waited and they were still not ready. No one even at that time stated that they needed authorization from the Dr. for one of the prescriptions. The 3 out of the 4 were finally ready today 1/13/20. Also the cashier Stephanie is very monotone and not knowledgeable about pharmacy practice. Her customer service skills are dreadfully bad. Also while standing in line other patuebts are getting calls that their prescriptions are ready and when they get there they are told they are not ready and not sure why they are getting calls that they are and that it would be 30 to 40 minutes and have been sitting there for almost 2 hours waiting for their prescriptions. Someone needs to get in that pharmacy and get everyone on the same page and get organized. They also could use a lot more pharmacy personnel to help out with their demand of patient's prescriptions. This place is ridiculous. But because Walgreens doesn't accept one of the insurances that we have to use and the pharmacy staff at Walmart are rude and nasty. So CVS is the only place left to get prescriptions unless we go all the way down to Chesterfield. CVS needs to step their game up in all aspects.

After Farmville Pharmacy left my rx's were transferred to CVS. (NOT my choice!) In the past 2 months alone I've had to wait on one medication for 4 days because they were out. I received texts telling me my rx is ready only to make 2 separate trips to pick it up and be told they asked for additional info from the Dr for the insurance company so it's NOT really ready but they can have it if I want to sit there another 30 mins or make a FOURTH trip! I swore years ago I'd never return to CVS but the alternatives in this town are as bad or worse.

I have had nothing but issues with this pharmacy. The only reason I’ve been going is because our insurance dropped Walgreens. But I will drive 30 minutes to go somewhere else because their “protocols” are somehow different than other pharmacies. Everyone that works in the pharmacy with the exception of like 1-2 people are rude. If you can fill your medicine somewhere else- save yourself the headache and do it.

I just tried to transfer meds. They claim out of 7 prescriptions they only could find three. Prior to this the technician was madty and because I did not request all to be refilled at a cost of $200.00 due to donut hole she threw the bag to the floor stating that's not a problem. She admitted.to midundersing whe I requested.a refill on one. Bad experience and will not return as.they are overpriced and don't help you to save. I have a membership with GoodRx and they did.not even check it for amount that was covered
