So... here is my horror story. I worked a car show in PA and was driving home with my 2 kids and my husband. We had been driving for over a 100 miles looking for a hotel/motel since there was a Virginia tech game there was no vacancies. So I had my daughter calling ahead to places trying to find a vacancy . When we spoke to the guy he was really nice. when we got there he was great he let us look at the room and pick and everything and remember this was 345 in the morning. So we go in the room we get laid down I fall asleep about 430ish at 502 the fire alarm starts blaring. We jump up look for a fire we check everything out and there is nothing. So I get a pillow and start fanning it still it would not stop. So I twisted it after about 5 min of this and laid back down and went back to sleep. At 730 that morning I wake of to a elderly lady standing over us in our room screaming at us to get our stuff and get out. She then goes and cuts the power to our room off while still screaming about we were the reason the alarm went off and the alarm never would have went off if we hadn't of taken it off the wall. She was acting like a psycho. So we got our kids and got the hell out of there.

I can't believe how nice and cozy this place is. Everything is clean, and the room even smelled fresh. For the price it's unbelievable!I have stayed at hotels all over the country and this is easily in the top five. I can say without a doubt if I find myself needing a place I will stop here! The best way I can describe it is it's like staying at someone's home. The bed was super comfy with different pillows and a thick comforter. Even the lobby was kind of like a living room of sorts. The room also has no shortage of lighting, and is decorated well beyond most hotel rooms.Rooms: Feels like you're staying in a well decorated home.

Hi! Wisconsinite, here!My cars brake lines failed in Fancy Gap where I was forced to take a rest stop in the dead of night. I was delighted to find a hotel open and ready to take me and my family when we had nowhere else to go. The rooms were clean and our host(s) were friendly!Fancy Gap is going to be an adventure story to tell my children in the very near future.

This is a quaint, basic, dated, but very clean and comfortable hotel in a great location right off I-77. Tasty treats and coffee in the lobbyThe people that run the hotel were so friendly and accommodating and I will never forget the kindness they showed to me.Got a flat in the middle of the night on I-77 right by this hotel. Called to see if they had availablility and were pet friendly (yes to both) and had the tow truck driver drop me and my car off at this hotel. As I was checking in, the owner (George) said he would help me get the tire fixed the next day. Woke up in the morning and he already had my car on the jack and was removing the tire. Let me borrow his truck to get the tired replaced at a nearby Walmart. I was able to get back on the road without losing much time.I'm not sure how I would have managed to get my tire fixed if I not had the good fortune of ending up at this hotel.

Cant wait to visit again! We stopped here for a weekend to rest up, and this place is so peaceful and relaxing we ended up staying for a couple weeks! The lobby downstairs is kept fully stocked with homemade cakes, cookies, and treats and a fully stocked refrigerator with cold soda and drinks! Everything is on sale for $1 each. The rooms are very spacious and come with a Roku Flat screen too! My wife and I loved the time we spent here!

Bad location, very creepy, we drove for a out 12 hours until 3 am, all other hotels were fully booked bc of a VT football game, an this was the only one with vacant rooms, the room smelled like cigarettes as soon as u walk in, we were woke up 2 hours later by the smoke alarm blaring I'm our ears, an it wouldn't turn off, so we had too take it out, an went back to sleep, at like 8 am, the lady's in our room telling us to get out because we took the batteries out of the smoke alarm, proceeded to turn the electricity off so it was much harder to do anything, would not recommend this place

This is exactly when I expected. Very safe place, and nice owner. Old hotel but clean enough except the stench of old cigarettes in the Room, which was only reason for 4 star vs. 5. Keurig coffee and homemade baked goods and other stuff in lobby was a nice touch. No elevator, but only 2 stories and we didn't have a problem taking our bags up to second floor. There was a functioning fridge and microwave in room. Ancient, but working. Not the Marriott, but what we needed for one night.

The price is "by far" the most reasonable in the area. While the rooms are older, they have always been clean in my multiple stays at this establishment. Everything has always worked in the rooms I've stayed in. Also, each room is individually decorated with some creativity that actually provides a warm and comfortable feeling. I first stopped at this motel because of the price, now I just stay there when I'm in the area because I enjoy staying there. I have found the owners or employees that I have spoken with to be very courteous and it shows that they take pride in what they do. It is also located in close proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway, several great bluegrass venues, and a beautiful little park called Devil's Den (a few minutes drive away).

This place is great! I’ll admit I was a little nervous some of these small hotels are sketchy. So I checked the room first. It’s clean no mold in the bathroom no dust in the room. I love all the little decorations gives it a homey feeling.A big truck driver was stuck here for a few dayside to a break down and I saw the owner lend him a car to run some errands. Wow you don’t find people or places like that very often.I will be returning here next time I’m in the area.

This is not a five star hotel, but for $40 a night, it’s worth a five-star review. Fridge and microwave in the clean, quiet room that met our needs on a stopover for our beach trip. Don’t let the clown dolls creep you out. None of them came to life and killed us. Nor did the possess us — as far as we know!

Best hotel hands down. Owned by the nicest man I believe I have ever met. Super clean rooms and each are decorated differently. If you want to feel like you are spending the night at home, make sure you check in here.

Great place to go and rest. Had a great experience the people here are nice and with much respect. The rooms are clean and very organized. The shower in other words was the best because a dirty shower says a lot. The dolls didn't bother us at all but did hear some strange noises. Great place

Room was very clean. The owner was very nice. Bring shampoo and a blow dryer. Lots of goodies in the lobby. Do not order delivery from the Pit Stop. Go into town to the little diner.

I made a reservation on the Country View Inn website since we would be traveling through the area and needed a place to stay just to get some rest and showers to refresh in the morning. I put a note on the reservation we would be checking-in between 11:30p and 12:30a. We checked-in at 12:30 with no problems, room was small, but clean and since we were only staying for a few hours this was perfect. We got up at 6am to get showered and head out, but there was NO hot water at all. I let the water run for 10 minutes thinking maybe it needed to run a little before it would get warm, Nothing. Nobody was at the front desk, so I ended up taking an ice cold shower the best I could and no one else showered which was one of the main reasons for stopping for the night. I called the hotel and left a message never got a return phone call. Now, 2 weeks later I get a charge on my Credit Card bill for $8 for making a reservation with them. In similar situations I would say you get what you pay for, but if you stay here you will not even get that. There is a Comfort Inn up the street that you have to pass to get here that I would HIGHLY recommend. There will be someone there that can help you and their customer service will call back and you will not be getting extra charges for making reservations.

Let me tell you about the Country View Inn... well let me begin with this it is an out of the way Motel that on its best night is probably worth at most $39.95. That being said this past weekend Labor Day Weekend to be exact they charged $450.00 four 4 nights yes you heard me right FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY!!! With that you would expect a mini fridge, wet bar, or at the very least maid service, HBO and a hot shower. Now that I have set the stage let me tell you my story. My brother his wife along with my wife and myself show up to the "Bates Motel" on the hill. When I walk in to check in I am approached by what seemed to be a nice country couple who I assumed ran the place. I settled my bill got the key to the room and after a little idle chit chat headed upstairs. When I got to the room the first thing I noticed as I approached was the hideous sounding air conditioner. Upon entry I was well this defiantly isn't gonna be the greatest stay so I grabbed the remote to the TV and got 3 channels at best. So with that I just decided you know what as long as I got a clean room and a hot shower I will be satisfied. So first three nights it was just that then on last night there got to the room and nothing no beds made. So I go downstairs and ask what happened and I am told "there ain't no maid service unless you pay for it!!!" I then say I have been here 3 days and there has been on those days so what gives? He then yells I own the place and he goes and gets the elderly couple that I had done business with. So the long short of it is that they refused maid service on the last night said it was t included but there is no where that is stated so I say look just refund me for the last night and I will find another hotel. The owner quickly tells me "look at that sign" there will be no refund!! You know in hindsight it was there intention to screw me over from the beginning. You see when I checked in I asked if I could pay half now and half tomorrow they were reluctant but said yes. So once I settled the bill no more maid service. It is my personal opinion that a business that operates in that manner will surely not be in business long!!!

We stayed here last October right after Hurricane Matthew came through. They were the only hotel that had vacancies and we got a flat on the way up and we're driving on a flat. They gave us a room AND patched our tire so we could make it home to NY. The guy who runs the hotel is the nicest person ever. He didn't even ask me to pay for fixing my tire. If I ever have to stop on my way to or from GA again, it will definitely be here. Thank you so much for everything you did for us in our time of need.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The room I had was a little small, but for the price it was well worth it. It's family run, they live on site, and they're some of the nicest people I've ever met. If you're traveling south, spend the night here and then take the trip down i77 in the daylight, the view is breathtaking going down the mountain.

Country Inn perfect name:) was like spending the night at Grandma's. Super clean. Great service! Great price! Great place to take a good 'clean' shower and lay down. Basic, simple, and CLEAN. Only reason i dont rate 5 stars is its worn and out dated. But like i said its like being at Grandma's:)

I didn't see anything creepy. It's what cracker barrel country store would be as a hotel. The suites are clean, well decorated, with large beds (king size not doubles). The clientele seems to be mostly retired folks. Pets are $6 each.
