Went here for the port ( which is the best) but loved the wines just as much. Also they make fresh rosemary bread which was delicious š.

This is a great little Portuguese vineyard in Nelson Co. The vineyard is back to doing regular tastings and they have a good mix of white, rose, and red varieties. They also have rose, white, and ruby red ports that candy be tasted for an additional fee. I can say that I actually liked all of the wines and ports, which is unusual as there's always one or two I don't like, but not in this case. They had 2 whites, 2 rose, 2 reds, and 1 red blend (my favorite). Hands down my favorite of the ports was the chilled white. Currently their facility is relatively small, but very nice with a nice outdoor seating area with an awesome view. They do have a big expansion being constructed that will more than double their space and be able to host events. Finally they don't have a kitchen, but do offer some cheese/salami/crackers. They do not mind if you bring your own munchies.4/16/2023: Stopped by again this year and like usual for a small winery the wines have changed, but like last year they're very good. I've attached the latest wine list, some updated pictures, and the rating remains 5 stars even though I'd normally reserve that for 'estate' wineries.

We had some friends tell us about Brent Manor Vineyards and we are thrilled they did. Four of us showed up for a tasting reservation and also had a charcuterie board (which was stellar) reserved. The wine was great and Jorge (pronounced George) was an enthusiastic vintner explaining his wines. His wife Tracy was also very helpful. The view is beautiful and the Portuguese wines are just as good as the views. A definite must stop for anyone that enjoys wine and the stories behind them.

This was our favorite stop of the area vineyards. The owner is very personable. You can tell he takes great pride in his work. It was a pleasure and so informative to have him walk us through the tasting, not to mention the wines were phenomenal! I'm a red wine person, yet we walked away with 4 bottles of white wine too. That's how good everything is!

I had the most memorable, positive experience with them. The owner was more than attentive with my boyfriend and I, he was so good at educating us about each wine and region. It was such a pleasant conversation and educational experience, not to mention the most beautiful views for this time of year (early September) !! I couldn't be happier after this experience. It seems to be a married couple working in and owning the winery. They are beautiful people and more than accommodating. I highly recommend everyone to make a stop here!! Gorgeous views and delicious wines! They even have special wine cocktails such as a lemonade/mint/basil cocktail that includes their wine in it, omg to die for !!! So good. MUST VISIT! We will be returning.

The best wine and best people. Seriously some of the best wine I've ever had. I love every style they offer, and that's not normal at most vineyards I've been to. If you haven't been, you need to go.

Brent Manor is our absolute favorite! We visit any time we are relatively close to the area. Even though we don't make it to Brent Manor very often, the owners recognize us every time. They are extremely friendly and welcoming. The wines are excellent (we love the lemon crush winetail and the rose especially). This is a must-visit wineryādon't pass it up.

What an excellent place! This winery specializes in Portuguese and Port style wines. Very drinkable, unique wines and pretty views of the valley. They also have interesting "winetales" that thoughtfully blend their wine with lemonade and other tasty things. The couple that runs it are very personable, passionate, and knowledgeable. They also have excellent food recommendations for the surrounding area. The site itself is right off 29 and easy to access. After spending a long weekend touring various wineries in the area this one is by far the best and definitely worth your time.

This place is so beautiful and the wine is good. It has so much potential to be one of my favorite places to visit as a Nelsonian myself. Butā¦ we were not made to feel welcomed. It was incredibly obvious the lady in the tasting room did not want us there. To be fair, we arrived 35 minutes before closing. But we stopped by as our last stop after an afternoon taking in the beautiful weather and scenery in Nelson County, completely cognizant of the fact that they closed at 5:30 and with zero intention of imposing on their posted closing time. Our goal was to to share the experience with some fellow wine-lovers that were in from out of town. But I wonāt be back. Iām not a āone and doneā type person when it comes to a negative experience. But this was different. We were an annoyance to her, so Iāll make sure we do not imposition again.

Gorgeous space, delightful humans and delicious wine. Probably the most enjoyable tasting I've done in recent memory, and my tasting was free because I bought 3 bottles. The wines were very complex and interesting, highly recommend, can't wait to come back!

A wonderful surprise hidden among a very saturated market. We went on the recommendation of a sommelier from another winery, tempted by the promise of ports and Portuguese style wine. We were not disappointed. The tasting room is child and dog free, but both are welcome in the outside seating area. The proprietor and his wife served us our tasting. They were vibrant and fun and their wine was delightful. There were no misses, everything was very drinkable, even the wines that were not normally to my taste. Iām a white drinker personally, and the petit manseng was phenomenal. I havenāt laughed that much in a tasting in a while. I look forward to coming back in cooler weather for the fire pits and to enjoy the expanded port menu.

I work in the spirits industry which has allowed me to develop a great sensory ability for quality wine & spirits. I canāt stress enough how incredible the wine is. I will turn my nose to a white in a heart beat BUT I have ordered a glass while we were there. That is totally out of character, but the craft and quality is just unmatched. We subscribed to the wine clubs immediately. I canāt believe they are so small for how incredible their wine is!

Very nice owner, who has essentially built this place by hand. It has great potential. The hillside has beautiful views of the horizon especially at sunset.

Look at the pictures- how could you not love this place? It is gorgeous here. A small winery with outdoor seating. It also seems very covid safe here and the owners conscientious of making it a safe place. They are also happy to tell you about their wines and are very hospitable. Your wine flight comes with a glass you can take home! Check out this underrated hideaway and enjoy your stay!

We had a great time as the owner provided first class service to us and all of the guests! The reds are our favorite and all of his 2019 vintages are outstanding. We stayed warm with a fire pit and enjoyed the beautiful views. He is continuing to expand the winery and it will be amazing once completed!

Best winery we have been to in VA. We have come to accept winery's in VA typically just have average wines but Brent Manor was a delightful surprise. The Chambourcin Reserve was exceptional! We bought many of the 2018 and 2017 vintage to enjoy through out the year. Additionally, their winetails are fantastic. We have always been one to just enjoy wine the traditional way, but Jorge crafted tasteful winetails with the use of herbs to create a very refreshing drink. Just take a leap of faith and try one of the winetails. Jorge (the owner) was a wonderful host very educated and informed. I highly recommend visiting when in the area.

This is the only vineyard I've been to where I thoroughly enjoyed tasting all of the wines on the tasting menu. Each wine is truly unique in its taste and feel, and the owners are so friendly and personable. As soon as we walked in the tasting room we were greeted and made to feel like valuable guests. They had a small but high-quality choice for meats, cheeses, and crackers, so we spent some time after our tasting sitting outside, eating, and enjoying the view. This is a must-stop on your wine tour list!

A hidden gem and some of the best wine you can drink in Virginia. It brought us back to our trip in Portugal. Beautiful dry reds and delicious port style wines. Do not pass this place by!

One of the best wineries I have ever been to and I have been to quite a few. The owner is amazing and gives great recommendations for pairing the wine with food and when to drink the wine. His palette is extremely unique as he specializes in Portages style wines yet they are extremely flavorful and one of a kind. My fiancĆ© and I left with more bottles than we expected but it was because we just couldnāt pass them up. I highly recommend this winery to anyone with any palette.

Amazing family-run winery! The wines are made in a Portuguese style with Virginia grapes. Every one we tried was delicious. The Touriga Nacional red table wine and the Petit Manseng white "port"-style are standouts. The child-free tasting room makes for a pleasant visit.
