Tiffany and Ashley were amazing today as ALWAYS! They had a clearance event and the store was super busy but they did an excellent job of helping the customer and asking did they have the 5/25 to help save! I found that to be super amazing but they always are! This will ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE STORE!

I got robbed of my money, I paid $200 US dollars for a Google play card. My local dollar general in Emporia Virginia 23847 on South Main St cheated me out of a Google play gift card worth $200 because an employee wasn't paying attention to the item i was purchasing. I returned the following morning and spoke with the manager of the building who did not give me proper service nor did she listen to my complaint or review my receipt and screenshots I took involving my unloaded google play gift card. Their service was absolutely horrible and I am disgusted with how my problem was handled. I think legal action should be taken and the store be under investigation very soon concerning my poor service.

Very poorly ran. Merchandise that was open I was willing to purchase (for discount obviously) when the manager said it would not be discounted I told her well i'll take new ones from the back that aren't open... her reply is she was unloading truck and couldnt go get them. ... not to worry I left and will never return to DG at that location.

The manager and staff were very nice. They have alot of items. They were displayed as neat as they could get despite the room they have. Pretty much anything you need you can find there.

To be quite honest this place was cluttered beyond all imagination! I asked two of the attendance at the store one for aspirin the other one for any kind of ice cream or frozen sweets and both of them looked at me like I was a foreign person in a foreign land speak in a foreign language and I was in Virginia speaking English to English speaking folk so that was kind of off-putting. You can tell the fours haven't been swept and weeks there were crumbs and pieces of broken items to swept along the Shelf lines. Three of the Isles were completely blocked so that if you needed to get from one side to the other you had to walk completely around and come in from the opposite side the only interaction I had with the employees as when I try to move one of the pallets on Wheels out of my way to get some paper plates and the person who I had asked for ice cream sandwiches rice cream of any sort told me that I am not allowed to move anything it's not my job I don't work here don't touch anything unless I had permission basically scold me like I'm a child even though they couldn't do their job if they wanted I did forgive them though cuz I figured there was only two workers there until I asked to use where the restroom was and I walked past her break room and there were three other employees sitting there looking like they had just enjoyed a very very healthy blunt or joint of sorts red eyes and all they just looked up at me and smiled and asked if I need any help sir dot-dot-dot. Lol. Anyhow basically the store is a cookie cutter of all the other stores in the area really hard to find educated and hard workers when every place around here wants to take the minimum wage and just pay them that and nothing more so it's kind of hard that motivate somebody when you're not making enough money working full-time plus overtime and you still can't pay your bills.

Aisles were blocked with merchandise that still had to be put up, as well as merchandise had fallen over that is at end of aisles that you couldn't get by and no room to turn around. Cashier was very courteous, fast and friendly.

The most ghetto place ive been most employees not friendly inventory always low. At times you get talked to rudely or pushed aside for other customers.

Pretty cluttered, store could use some organization and friendlier customer service. Couldn't find a sales item in the home place but I did find it somewhere else in the wrong place around the store.

My and I went for one thing and left the store with a whole bag of stuff, unbelievable what you can find when you really not looking for it. I recommend dollar general to anyone.

I called customer service today to ask if they had a box cutter and a putty knife. They did not answer the phone to put me on hold or anything, they straight up ignored me and let the call drop.
