Walgreen's at Elkton just lost yet Another customer today . They have been losing a few a day for weeks now due to the Pharmacy Never being open during regular business hours. We got an email from them a while ago saying prescription is ready so we go to pick it up, Sorry Pharmacy NOT OPEN ! Last week hubby had to go without his prescription for 2 days because of their Incompetancy. I wish I knew who to call to get us a pharmacy in McGaheysville.The manager seems to get offended rather easily when the problem is presented to him.

I think some other company needs to step in and shut this place down and replace all the staff members here. Absolutely terrible customer service, can NEVER get anyone on the phone and end up waiting with “one caller ahead” only to wait for sometimes over an hour for them to either ask you to hold longer or to say that never received your prescription or that it’ll be a day or more before they can get your medication in and then when they tell you it’ll be in they again tell you it’ll be longer because they already gave it to someone else. Absolutely pathetic people that work in here with no sense of urgency, have no clue what they are doing and lack any motivation to help people get the medications they need. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here. It’ll be worth the extra miles just to go somewhere else.

Do yourself a favor: Find a different pharmacy!! Your future self will thank you!! Horrible wait times for script fills, in-person lines, and phone calls. At least 3 times this past year, someone in my family has had surgery in Augusta County, and had scripts sent to Walgreens in Elkton afterwards. Every single time, we've had to wait over an hour at the pharmacy for the script to be filled. It's a 45-minute drive, plus waiting on discharge, etc., so they've had the script for at least an hour, plus another hour wait at the pharmacy. 2+ hours to fill a script is uncalled for.Today, I experienced the worst customer service I have experienced in a very long time. I called them wanting a print-out of our family's scripts for 2023, and waited on hold to speak to a person for 38 minutes, with only 3 people on hold in front of me (according to the "on-hold recorded voice"). Once someone answered, they told me I had to go in to the pharmacy to request these printouts because it was against the law to print these pages without a photo ID. Prior to that, I spoke to Elkton Family Pharmacy, Medicap in Harrisonburg, *and* another Walgreens in Harrisonburg. Every single one of these pharmacies have the printouts ready for me to pick up. Furthermore, just last month I picked up and paid for my father-in-law's script without showing ID, or having any kind of signed "waiver" from my father-in-law. So, according to them, it's illegal for them to print out a piece of paper, but I can get someone else's script without their written or verbal permission??? Save yourself the headache and frustration and find a different pharmacy. There are many GREAT ones to choose from.

Needed a new prescription filled on a Saturday. The doctor faxed it to Elkton Walgreens. My husband went to pick it up & the pharmacy was closed. Apparently they are only open Monday-Friday. The staff couldn't send the prescription to another pharmacy. Really. And of course the doctor had already left his office. Thanks Walgreens. .

Worst pharmacy around. Constantly having to call multiple times to get prescriptions filled, constantly saying “they never received prescriptions” even when there is confirmation by their pharmacists. And don’t even get me started on the hours of time I’ve spent waiting on the phone to get someone on the line, when there is “one caller ahead.”

Can't get prescriptions. They are either closed due to staffing issues or to lazy to fill. I had a prescription that was only 1 pill sent in on a Thursday, so I waited til Saturday to get it and it wasn't filled yet. So they are closed on sunday and I go back up there the following Monday and they are closed due to staffing issues. I'm done with this place.

I've tried to be patient with this pharmacy for months now, dealing with staffing issues and severe disorganization. Horrible wait times for medication and constant scheduling issues. Definitely going to a new pharmacy from now on.

JUST CLOSE THIS PLACE!As I write this review your website says "OPEN". I called at 730pm the lady upfront in the store told me the pharmacy closed at 4 pm due to "Short Staff".The website shows hours on Saturday and Sunday but the same lady said that the pharmacy was closed now on Saturday and Sunday.Earlier I gave up after 30 minutes on hold when they must have been closed.HorriblePOOR SERVICE AND NO COMPASSION!I went in to pick up prescribed medicines at the Elkton, Virginia Walgreens Pharmacy on March 12 2023.My wife had just been diagnosed with COVID 19 upon our just arriving home from my Father's Funeral in Pennsylvania. I was told that they were out of the pain reduction eardrops. I was told by the young girl that I would have to call another pharmacy and get my Dr to write a new persscrription. I said that the Dr was already gone for the day. I called around and found Walmart downtown Pharmacy and Abigail there said that she could transfer my persscrription to her. Back inside Elkton they confirmed this but I waited patiently for the girl to compare her fingernails with another customer. I spoke to the Pharmacist at Elkton about it and told her of my frustration and my wife's sickness and my Dad's passing. There was no response or Compassion from her. I’ve visited the pharmacy twice in the past two months, both of my visits have been top notch. My first visit included a prescription transfer and working with me on an insurance prescription approval. The staff in the pharmacy was patient and very helpful to get my prescription in a timely matter. The store is clean and organized; I noticed many items on sale. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this pharmacy to family and friends.

I wish that I could give this pharmacy 0 stars.I have consistently had issues with this pharmacy, typically meaning I spend every visit waiting 10-20 minutes for them to quickly fill my prescription when I arrive. I've come to expect it, it is what it is.Today, however, was the final straw for me.I had a viral infection last week that unfortunately spread to my eye, meaning I needed to quickly begin a round of medicated eye drops. The prescription was called in yesterday evening, so I was already prepared to wait until today to pick it up. I called the pharmacy right as they opened at 10am to make sure that my usual prescription would also be ready to pick up alongside the eye drops (not to mention I had to wait literally a half hour on the phone), and the pharmacy tech on the phone told me they'd be ready at noon.I got there at 12:15, lo and behold, my prescriptions aren't ready. Despite what this pharmacy seems to believe, I do not have endless amounts of time to stand around and wait for my medications, so I told them I'd be back later. I came back around 4:00, at which point they informed me that the eye drops I was prescribed are not in stock, meaning I'd need to have the prescription sent somewhere else.Tomorrow is Memorial Day, meaning all the Walgreen pharmacies in the area are very conveniently closed. So my options were to spend an hour and a half driving to and from Harrisonburg, or put off my medication until Tuesday and risk damage to my vision.I'm not so much frustrated that my medication wasn't in stock, I'm frustrated that I wasn't even given the courtesy of a phone call to inform me, at NOON when my prescriptions were supposed to be filled, that it was not in stock. It would have saved me hours of time and prevented me from breaking down into frustrated tears in the middle of a god-forsaken Walgreens because I need my medication. It is literally the least they could have done.I sincerely hope that Walgreens can fix the organizational issues that are clearly rampant in their company, only for the sake of everyone who relies on them for necessary medications. While I think the front of store employees at this location are lovely, this pharmacy is a hot a** mess and I will not be returning.

The customer service in the pharmacy department used to be great. It seems to be a hassle anytime you call to ask for clarification or help. I didn’t appreciate the associate laughing so hard on the phone that I couldn’t understand what she was saying and getting smart over something that I simply needed clarification on.Front of the store associates are great and I appreciate their friendly interactions.

Your prescription will always be “running late” or “a little behind” aka they couldn’t be bothered to fill it. As a veteran, this place makes the VA look like the pinnacle of healthcare service. Staff also consistently have bad attitudes. I dread coming to this place, and if I didn’t have several medications that were not commonly carried in neighborhood pharmacies, I wouldn’t.Please bring back CVS. Or at least undo whatever changes were done when this place became a Walgreens.The Walgreens in this town is the only place that’s more of a mess than the McDonalds, and for that, one star.Edit: for clarification, the store staff is incredible. The staff that works in the actual pharmacy is not.

Tried to not fill my Rx cause it was out of state. (Sorry for being life flighted out of state after being in a bad accident. Although that info isnt important and frankly none of her business.) She said it makes her feel "iffy" when the prescriptions are from out of state. Like her feelings are relevant to if get the medication I am prescribed by a Dr or not. I dont even think she was the pharmacist. She tried to disregard the Dr who called in the Rx and made him waste his time confirming that he indeed called the Rx in the 1st place. It didnt just magically appear out of no where. Made me have to suffer and wait even longer for my pain meds than I needed to all because she thought her feelings matter. Just do your job and count out the pills and put them in the bottle like you are supposed to do. Dont try to withhold people's medication that they need because you have a insignificant amount of power.
