They are thorough, dependable, caring and professional, and they’re always friendly and nice to me, my family and our horses. Couldn’t ask for a better vet practice. I've been using BREC for four years since I moved here and have always had good experiences. When my mare had a fractured coffin bone, the diagnostic process was thorough and systematic, and I felt confident in the treatment plan we chose. I felt I received honest recommendations and clear options. She is now healed with no after-effects. I wish they were able to still staff the Valley for emergencies, but am happy I can still reach out to them for opinions over a call and work with them for routine/scheduled procedures.

I highly recommend BREC. They always do a great job. They respond promptly to phone calls and emergencies. My horse needed a second antibiotic injection on Christmas Day, and they came. We have seen multiple vets with BREC due to emergency calls, because horses will be horses at the most inconvenient of times, and all the vets have been very kind and knowledgeable.

Over the years, my horse has suffered from a series of serious health issues. Blue Ridge has a great team of veterinary professionals with a variety of skill sets to meet all of your needs. Each time I was very pleased with the quality of care my girl received in hospital. They are calm, patient, empathetic, and work as a team to ensure you have the best outcome possible. Even though, my little horse was a pasture pet, I felt I received the same care as if she were a valuable Thoroughbred.

My horse had to have a tricky surgical procedure and I had heard glowing reviews from friends and our regular vets about BREC and Dr. Steven Trostle. Dr. Trostle called me himself when my horses surgery had to be delayed a few hours due to an ER surgery. That spoke volumes of the care and dedication BREC gives to all its clients and their owners.I was kept informed thruout my horses 4 day stay. My horse was treated like royalty. The whole team at BREC is Top Notch. BREC is a warm and welcoming facility and I highly reccomend them and will not hesitate to use them again. 😊

I spent over $15,000 on a small puncture wound in the hock on the best horse I’ve ever had and she was only two. The doctor made her worse gave her antibiotics that ruined her stomach. Did two surgeries and then told us he did not know what to do. He fixed absolutely nothing and we lost our sweet girl! I would not recommend them to anyone

The entire Blue Ridge team is incredible! They’ve taken care of every horse I own now in some sort of emergency aspect. Trostle has now done surgery on two as well. Vets and interns are always knowledgeable, friendly, and kind to the horses. They do not make the visit feel rushed, and are happy to answer questions. I have been with them nearly 25 years, and my opinion has not changed. I have only one horse now, so the only thing I would wish for is the ability to reduce the farm call a bit by being able to schedule with other farms nearby when possible.

I've used Blue Ridge for over twenty years. Wouldn't want to have to use any other vet, and I've never had to, since they cover all hours and every contingency. The vets are super knowledgeable, they listen to owner concerns, all the staff is very caring, and also highly efficient.

I can’t express how amazing this team was in an attempt to help my horse when he suddenly got sick. Very amicable. With the seller’s permission researched the horse I was interested in buying prior to the PPE. Recommended I do the PPE in steps which saved me money because the horse had hoof issues. I was able to decide not to purchase before having more testing.

I have had so many great experiences with Blue Ridge. Over the years my concerns have always been treated with the utmost respect. A colic scare, a deep cut in a bad spot, ulcer check… I have had those dreaded horse owner scares turn into positive experiences with Blue Ridge’s great care. Recently my vet in the practice moved out of town and I started using a new vet (within the practice). My crazy sound Hunt/trail/dressage horse showed up with a bit of a stifle issue. I was a bit panicked and my work schedule is really tight. My new vet In the practice worked so hard to accommodate me. She really impressed me with her patience, caring attitude and amazing knowledge! She did a thorough exam, gave great recommendations but didn’t do excessive treatment. His issue is getting resolved. Thank you Dr Kelly Giunta! I appreciate have Blue Ridge Equine on our team!
