This rescue is amazing! I work very closely with them on a weekly basis. Nothing but great things to say! I see these dogs often and try my best to help these dogs find good homes. I highly recommend them to anyone I know looking for a dog. Unfortunately you can’t please everyone but I know they do their absolute best to get these dogs great homes! They go above and beyond for all the dogs and cats that come to them. For the best very care to grooming and everything in between!! Thank you for all that you do for these amazing animals!! I know how much they appreciate you 😊

critters 4 u rescue got back to me within hours of me applying and was able to meet the pup 2 days later! communication was a 10/10! also the service of being able to go and see the pup was excellent! i’m very happy to say that i got to foster to adopt the pup. i will be referring all my friends to yall! thank you!!

The unprofessionalism is ASTOUNDING.We adopted a dog from them four years ago before we had a baby. After our baby was born, our dog began showing signs of trying to “train” our baby like a puppy. We spoke to several trainers who said it would be difficult to train the behavior out of her and the unfortunate solution was to rehome our dog. We were devastated, but had to put our child first. We reached out to Critters4U and Angel emailed me back back to say that, via contract, we could only send our dog back to them but they had no space in any of their homes, so we should just take our dog to the vet to be EUTHANIZED. I explained that our dog was not in any other way aggressive and hadn’t seriously harmed anybody and did not deserve to be k-lled. Angel said again that they had no room to take our dog, but that I didn’t have their permission to rehome with anybody else. They then stopped responding to my emails. I was disgusted and definitely don’t recommend adopting via this rescue.

Critters4U g got back to us quickly after we submitted our application. We were able to meet our sweet pup quickly. The owner was great at communicating with us and was so helpful throughout the process, and even since bringing our pup home. I can tell she has a heart for the animals they rescue and they are well cared for. Very thankful for Critters4U, the work they do, and for being able to adopt a great dog from them.

I’ve worked with the owner of Criters 4 U as a foster for over a year now. The dedication that she shows to rescuing animals from all backgrounds is phenomenal, the rescue makes sure all animals get the veterinary care that they need as well as socialization! Many of these animals come from horrific backgrounds but because of the love of foster families and the owner of the rescue they end up happy and healthy!!! All dogs whether coming from a breeder who has used and abused them, or a mutt off the streets, all animals deserve a chance at happily ever after and Critters 4 U makes sure they get that.

I submitted an application to adopt a dog from this organization. I tried to call to check on the status of my application and got hold of a very rude person. She definitely had an attitude. After a brief conversation, I decided that I did not have any desire to deal with her attitude and hung up. I thought that would be the end of it but this woman started texting me with insults and was very ugly with her texts! Extremely uncalled for!! I blocked her after saying I had no desire to have further dealings with her. It would seem she should be more focused on finding the dogs a good home instead of being confrontational and ugly with the people wishing to adopt them! Such a shame for the poor dogs and the people trying to do business with this organization! Oh, and if they try to bash me on here, I will be glad to share the text messages! AND IN RESPONSE TO YOUR RESPONSE BELOW, YOU ARE A LIAR. YOU ARE NOT BEING TRUTHFUL BUT I AM NOT SURPRISED. THE FIRST TIME I CALLED AND SPOKE TO SOMEONE WAS TODAY, NOT MULTIPLE TIMES. AND I NEVER SAID YOU DIDN'T KNOW WHAT YOU WERE DOING! I did not get nasty but hung up after getting attitude from you. And I didn't "throw around" that I am a paralegal! But that is neither here nor there. I stand by my review! END OF STORY!

Great rescue!! I started as a foster almost 10 years ago and adopted 2 furbabies from them. Only rescue I know that will take severe medical issue animal and work to get them healthy, if they can't the animal will live out the duration of their lives in comfort and love. I will always recommend C4U!!

I was helping a friend of mine find a home for her babies for a few months because she tried for over 6 months to find medication and go to doctor visits to get her allergies under control from their type of dander. After MONTHS of trying she asked me to find a rescue and that's when I found "Critters 4 U Rescue" they had great reviews so we gave them a call and they came and collected the girls from my friend. They have been good to the dogs BUT here is my problem with their service attirude.We explain to them why she was rehominf and she tried for months so when they posted her dogs they bashed her on their webpage. That's NOT what rescuinf is about bashing the precious owners. When she defended herself they then BLOCKED HER from the page. I went and defended her also and they blocked me also but rold my friend it was Facebook messing up on us. Do yourself a favor and don't get bashed by then the same way we did for trying to find solutions and having to come to a sad last resort.

All vet records were given and they had everything they needed done. I got to see where they were staying while in your care. Everything was clean and neat with plenty of food and toys!

We are currently in the process of adopting a dog from this organization and I have to say I have loved every step so far! Communication is fast and knowledgeable and everything has been so easy thus far. Angel has been so amazing answering all my questions and keeping in contact and the foster family has been equally a dream! Great jobs everyone, we are loving this experience!! I adopted a puppy from Critters 4 U Rescue. I put an application in online and didn't hear back until 2 days later. She did apologize to me that she had over 100 applications on a few of her dogs and she does do first come first serve as far as calling the applications back and or getting the info to her foster people to call the potential adopters. She also said with this Covid and she has to home school her daughter, along with the pets she has at her house that she has to clean cages, let them out to potty, feed, bath, etc.. Then the all the appointments she has to drive to the vet in Newport News and she lives in Gloucester (an hour away) and sometimes she is there daily, never mind a dog that could get sick after hours and she takes to emergency vet, she extremely apologized. I told her I get it. I didn't think she did that all by herself but she does. I have actually asked her if she needs foster help or volunteer help at the rescue because that is alot to do for 1 person. Anyway I wanted to thank you Crystal for being a great rescue and caring for those dogs.

Critters4U has been my go to place for many years, whenever I'm looking for another pet. They are far more dedicated than many people give them credit for. Running an animal rescue is a tough business, because some people don't understand the amount of work that goes into rescuing animals. When people make an inquiry, and don't get an immediate response, they get childish and start trash talking the rescue. That only hurts the animals. Without donations, the animals are the ones who suffer. So, for all you trash talkers out there, without you realizing it, you are secretly an animal hater. Try to trash talk a little less, and assist the animal rescue, by either helping with donations, or volunteering. Don't run off at the mouth until you've been there and seen the amount of work that goes into caring for those animals.

We adopted our dog, Eggroll, from C4U and had a wonderful experience. C4U rescued Eggroll from a severe neglect situation and went above and beyond to get her healthy again. They let us have a play date with our other dog and then we were able to foster prior to adoption to make sure the dogs would do well together. Eggroll is a happy, healthy, and very loved member of our family and C4U is the reason she has been able to make a full come back and enjoy life to the fullest.

Ignore reviews of communication etc. as you can imagine taking care of animals is time consuming. If you’re application is a fit and you’re in line you’ll be contacted.This was a first time rescuing for me. I will probably never not rescue again.Our little dog has been with us less then a week and he fits in so well! We love him so much! Thank you all for the gift of him!

I have worked with this rescue, fostered for them and adopted my best friend from them!They do the absolute best they can for neglected and abused animals.They take in the unwanted and sick and some animals that every other rescue has given up on.I would absolutely recommend them. They make sure that every animal in the rescue gets the much needed medical and sometimes behavioral care they need, no matter the cost!

I contacted this rescue hoping to adopt a puppy. The woman I spoke to led me to believe that it was very possible. I filled in the application and heard NOTHING. I called on 2 consecutive days, and then emailed. After 2 weeks, I have still heard nothing from them. The fact that I didn't get the puppy is not the issue. The fact that they couldn't call and tell me that someone else had adopted the puppy is a definite concern.

If they truly cared about animals, they wouldn’t waste so much of their time trying to bring another rescue down, and would instead focus their energy on saving animals they claim they do. I hope that this rescue is better at caring for the adorable pets than customer service. I came across their available pets and inquired as directed. The email response I received from Angel Recoy was extremely unprofessional and didn’t answer any of the questions that I asked in my original email. Once I proved that the individual on the other side of this email was misinformed I was told the pet I was inquiring about was “pending adoption”. *laughable* It’s unfortunate that someone is the face of such a business with zero professionalism and/or people skills.

We recently fostered Abigail through Critters. Angel was very communicative with anything that was needed during Abigail's time with us. Abigail was recently diagnosed as having torn her cruciate ligaments in both knees. The team at Critters picked Abigail up yesterday for her first surgery.
