First time visiting this vet and had the greatest experience from start to finish! Front desk staff were very nice and efficient, the techs and doctor who took a look at my pup were so good with him! Taking my pitbull to new places is rough for him and can get super anxious but the staff handled him with lots of love and care! He even got his nails trimmed and had no issues, I have never seen my dog so well behaved in a vet lol so overall 5/5 experience!! Will definitely come back for future appointments and even bring my other dogs here! They also had a very welcoming waiting area, kid & adult friendly! Keep up the good work!!!

I needed to have my fur baby examined due to her limping and my regular vet did not have an opening. When I called around, I found that Dumfries Animal Hospital had one available opening which I grabbed. I was very impressed! While my interactions with the doctor and staff were very much professional, there was still a warm and caring attitude present that I appreciated. They really seemed to care about my dog and the prices were not astronomical like some of the other places. Looks like I will be switching vets!

I was referred by my coworker to Dumfries Animal Hospital. I had my own vet I used in Stafford, but I’m so glad I took my cat there. I had to put her down. They examined her, let me know I was doing the right thing, and also let me know it was my choice. They were wonderful with my fur baby. They let me spend all the time I needed with her. I had her privately cremated and a paw print made as well. I liked they give you many options. It was a difficult time for me, but I am so glad I took her there. I wouldn’t take an animal anywhere else.

DO NOT USE if you may need to put your pet down.We moved to the area and needed a good vet. We had a cat who was nearly 12 years old and who’s health was failing. This clinic was very kind and helped us through this process. After all the testing and treatments that could be done, we ended up having to put her down (we were thinking this might be the outcome). Dumfries Animal Hospital was very respectful and sensitive to this process and made that part as good as it could be. Dr. Johnston was WONDERFUL and is the ONLY reason I gave this place another star.We decided to have them cremate the body so we could take her home and do a burial and have a reminder of her with us forever. We filled out all the paperwork and then as a family picked out an urn together (we let the kids pick). We planned an elaborate burial for our three kids who grew up with her and don't hardly remember a life without her. She was like a sister to them and a companion that was always there for them. Adding her to our land and having the urn as a reminder of the years we had her with us no matter what we were going through was a big deal for our family.Unfortunately, when Dumfries Animal Hospital informed the crematorium, they messed up the instructions. Instead of having our cat's remains placed in the urn of our choosing so we could bring her home, she was dumped in a bin with all the other animals they cremate, and the ashes were dumped somewhere in Maryland.It may have been a simple error and they did refund our money, but this rating is due to the sorrow and hurt that we had to go through BECAUSE OF THEM when we were already grieving the loss of a friend. We also went to a lot of effort and money to deal with a beloved companion and friend in a manner we felt fitting and now we just feel robed of that chance.In our experience, the Dr.'s are amazing, but the staff may mess something up that will put most of your household into tears.

My first visit for a nail trim for Bella who is a rescue and can be very anxious and fearful. The techs upon meeting her the first time figured out she is afraid to be on the table and was able to hold her and trim her nails. Thank you for taking the time and patience with her. I will continue to visit for her check ups and boarding. The waiting room was spacious and clean and everyone was friendly and helpful! Thank you again!

My white siberian husky, Uriel, had an appointment for a nail trim. The second he saw the door he got scared and refused to go in. To make a long story short, their amazing employee, Kaylen, noticed Uriel being scared and jumped into action. Instead of forcing him in, she immediately got treats and rubbed his head to build a rapport. He was still scared, but less so, and she suggested picking him up to get him into the building and give him a minute once inside to feel comfortable. Once he was inside, Uriel kept licking her hand. Had it not been for her, I would have had to cancel his much needed nail appointment. The other employee who trimmed his nails, made him feel so safe, he did not hesitate to give her his paws for the trim. Thank you, Dumfries Animal Hospital, for having amazing employees who actually care for animals and provide services with patience and kindness. Uriel even left with a smile!

We have used Dumfries Animal Hospital since 1989 other than four years we were in Hawaii. The Hispital has been there in all the good times and sadness when we said goodbye to our furry family members. They are the best! Thank you .

Excellent place for your pets whether they are sick or simply need grooming. The staff has always been super friendly and extremely efficient. We take all three dogs there when anything needs to be done and we trust them fully to take care of our pack!

The vet was great. My dog had a broken nail and they were able to squeeze me into a cancelation! The vet and tech were kind and made me feel confident Cooper was in the best care. I will admit there is a $75 appointment deposit and that kind of threw me off but the money goes toward your appointment and I can only assume that it's because over time they had a lot of no shows. I will definitely take my pup back there!

Dr. Johnston and the staff were so wonderful when we made the difficult decision to let our Chloe run free across the rainbow bridge. She didn't push for more testing or exams (ct, mri etc) that would not change the outcome or help our fur baby.

They are really good for non emergency cases. We are moving out of the country in 5 days, and my pup found the perfect timing to break a tooth, i called to see if they were able to squeeze her in just in case she needs antibiotics to prevent infection (we will take care of the extraction once we get to our new station) and the answer was no. Not looking to “skip lines” but for those who have been through PCS overseas you know the moving doesn’t give you much room for wait and see. Anyways though i would share my experience for those that might ran on to a similar situation than mine.

I have been taking both of my Rotties there since they were puppies and cant say enough good things about the practice. I drive from the far side of Stafford so the drive can be a pain sometime. The staff and doctors are great, we especially appreciate Dr. Olinger.

The staff at this veterinary clinic has consistently been very respectful and helpful. I've taken both my cat and puppy here and they've been extremely accommodating and flexible with scheduling. The best thing for me was being able to get in same day (whereas previously I'd have to find a vet with availability or go to the nearest vet emergency hospital). I'm extremely happy with using Dumfries Animal Hospital as the primary practice for all my little ones.

Dumfries Animal Hospital is great. The office is clean and the staff is friendly and professional. However, I feel the most important opinion is that of our dog. She is 14 years old and has gone to this vet's office all her life for boarding and medical needs. She is usually very shy around strangers, but when we go to the vet's office, she always runs up to the staff to greet them. While she might not be crazy about being there, she really likes the staff. That tells me they must treat her very well even I am not around to watch.
