Was a customer for 5-6 years.Service was great for years, and then the technician that was doing my service quit. New technician took over and at the beginning of the year went a month or two without a service call. Then finally get a call from them and service technician does what needs to be done and was great for a few months. Around June I started having problems again when it come to scheduling to be there the same time they was. Only outside was sprayed, and bait boxes we’re supposed to be checked no inside service was performed, but was still billed the full $50 for the service. August same thing just the outside. September comes and I didn’t receive a call at all, but got the bill in the mail for service that wasn’t paid the times I wasn’t there and he did the outside. So I decided to call a different company. I’m waking around with the new company, and showing him where brown has their bait boxes, and he opens them up and all of them are empty. Messy inside and one looks like it hasn’t left the ground in a while. Took it by there and they defend the guy saying the technician didn’t come out in September because he put in the notes that I was hard to reach. Welp I go looking though my phone records through Verizon incoming and outgoing calls dated August 22 2021 through today October 6 2021 for both phone numbers they have on file and do not see any inbound calls that match the technician number. So I guess as long as you work there and the gps locator says you was there, and you can just say you called the customer and they wouldn’t answer the phone, or as long as you turn in a full service ticket knowing that’s incorrect then your set for a long happy career. Talked to someone who was there I’m not sure if he was management, or what but basically all he told me is the technician said he tried to call and gps showed he was there. If you do decide to go with brown exterminating all I can say is watch the Technician when he is there and make sure he checks and refills the bait boxes, and apparently don’t ask for service on Saturdays when you don’t have work because that must be to much to ask for new technicians. Hats off to Chris of Browns Extermination and Pest Control. We had another company come to look at some insects inside our home that we had put in a baggy. Diagnosis was “fleas” and he told us that the whole house and yard would need to be treated. I went to Browns with the same samples and Chris using a light and magnifying glass immediately ruled out fleas and said this was a type of beetle. He then came to our home and checked further. We know now it is a harmless bug that treatment is NOT RECOMMENDED. These insects will die on their own and the recommended treatment is time and a lot of vacuuming. No chemicals, no expense, and best of all Not Fleas. Chris gave us an hour and a half of his time, saved us a huge expense, and charged $0.00. He would not take a penny from us. Highly recommend this company.

I discovered a Yellow Jacket nest above the drop ceiling in the basement of our home in Blacksburg. I called Brown after reading the reviews. Andrew came out the same day. He explained the options for removal very clearly and the safety of the chemical used. Using a disorienting spray on the nest he was able to remove it by hand and take it away. The spray was EPA approved for nursing homes, schools etc. He did not get any spray. on the ceiling tiles or anything else. He did spray outside where the yellow jackets were getting in. There was no order at all. He was done in an hour and no yellow jackets have returned. I was very satisfied with his service and the price was reasonable.Service: Hornet & wasp extermination

I can't possibly thank Chris enough! I am severely allergic to bees and after getting stung he came out right away to take care of the nests in my yard.I also do maintenance early in the season and they use products that won't harm my pets. I am very thankful for this service, it has truly been a life saver for me!

Called to have a wasp nest removed. Person came out and told me it be cheaper to remove it myself and was more interested in selling a termite package. Unprofessional and won’t be using again
